Ten races have been set down for Morphettville on Saturday for John Letts Cup Day. Weather is fine, track is good (4) and the rail is out six metres for the entire circuit.

3 Thirsty Guest (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the winner, all things being equal. He ran last Friday in the Gawler Cup where he was set an impossible task from the back and yes, did make up ground, but was never threatening behind impressive Chicago Storm, who would be $1.50 against these. Back to this grade, he should be winning provided there is petrol left in the tank.

2 Yuri Royale (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to beat here for Team Jolly. He ran two weeks ago over the mile here where he was left flat footed when the sprint went on, but he picked up and was building nicely in the straight but didn’t get the clearest of paths in the straight. He’s got plenty of room for improvement and with a more positive ride, he can take this out.

5 Magnetic Edge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be a leading contender here. I thought his best days were behind him but he ran a much improved race last Friday in the Gawler Cup when just off the speed and kept on in a solid effort behind impressive winner Chicago Storm. If he runs up to that effort here, he’ll be around the mark I am sure.

5 Walk Like An Angel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a daughter of Impending for Andrew Gliyas that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since July 1 at Murray Bridge when attempting to lead throughout and she gave a strong kick but she couldn’t quite see it through when third to Dubenenko. Short course should suit her and stable is flying. Hard to beat.

2 Deepfloat Diva (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a nice type for Team Jolly and rates highly against these. 2/2 to start his career, the latest coming here a fortnight back where he was a bit one paced when the sprint went on but he picked up and surged hard late to win, just. He’s heading in the right direction and no reason why he can’t go 3/3.

6 Kinetic Jewel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and take running down. This filly resumed with a dominant win on the Parks track before racing on the course proper here two weeks back when attempting to lead throughout and giving a strong kick but couldn’t quite finish it off when third to Deepfloat Diva. Right racing style, she’ll give herself every chance.

5 Tosen Water (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will land on speed and prove hard to run down I’d suggest. Searle/Callanan trained mare that is racing in super form at the moment. Arrogant win two back at Gawler before racing here two weeks ago when landing near the front and tried her guts out but couldn’t quite get the win when second to Anjopin, who won last Saturday to frank the form. If there is petrol left in the tank, she’ll take beating.

7 Master At Arms (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned in pretty good order and rates as one of the leading contenders. Three weeks between runs since resuming at this track/distance where he got back in the run and made up good ground without threatening when third to in form mare Street Delight. Lands in a plum spot from the inside gate and with upside to come, rates highly.

9 Suggestive Miss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has returned in pretty good order for Travis Doudle. Narrow second fresh on Murray Bridge Cup Day before racing last Friday on Gawler Cup Day where she got back off the speed, wide with cover, and found the line well enough without threatening behind Exalted Dame. Not a deep race this so she only has to hold her form to be around the mark.

9 Lights Of Broadway (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is absolutely flying for Andrew Gluyas and rates as one of the hardest to beat. This mare is in a real purple patch at the moment, winning her past two. Latest win was a fortnight back at this track/distance where she gave them a start and a beating in a very impressive display. Similar effort at Gawler the start prior, she only has to hold her form to be around the mark.

5 Sir Kingsford (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for the Searle/Callanan camp and rates highly in a race like this. Strong on speed win at Gawler two back before racing here two weeks ago where he was crunched in betting and despite a few nervous moments, once he found clear air and built the revs late, he was impressive the way he put them away. See no reason why he can’t win again.

1 Darlamax (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a good track/distance record and with upside to come, rates highly. He ran at the track/distance two weeks ago when ridden with intent to settle near the speed and he stuck on quite bravely in defeat when third to the in form Silent Surrente. He has that 2000m run under the belt, which should hold him in good stead for this.

3 Bristler (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a sharp sprinter for Richards/Moyle that resumes. This guy hasn’t raced since June 17 when producing sustained speed from the front and proving too good for them at Murray Bridge. Spelled and looked very sharp in a jumpout here last Tuesday. Lands on speed, he’s a short course animal…very hard to beat I’d suggest.

2 Sghirripa (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a bit on these IMO. He looked to have a bit on them when resuming here two weeks ago and despite the horse being tardy away, then given a sore back by Crowther, the gelding had panels on them and was far too good. He’s got the potential to be Stakes class but needs to keep winning and I am confident he’ll be winning here.

1 Celsius Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can run an improved race. He was kept quite safe in betting when resuming a few weeks back here when chasing from the outset behind the speed and kept finding in a solid return behind Queman, beaten just over a length. Good second up record and with decent room for improvement, he should prove hard to beat against these.

3 Superior Sam (Bet Now:  $SP.00) rates as one of the hardest to beat. Clarken/O’Shea trained mare that has turned the corner since being transferred from Lindsey Smith, winning two on the bounce, the latest of those coming at this track/distance two weeks ago when giving them a start and a beating in an impressive display. See no reason why she can’t continue her winning ways.

9 Dual Fuel… (Bet Now:  $SP.00) gee she is frustrating to follow. Terrible effort as a well backed favourite two back on the Parks track before racing here a fortnight back where she was ridden cold, held up, and found the line well enough I thought behind Superior Sam. One day she will win a race…but you need deep pockets to keep following her.

4 Salute The Stars (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and run a positive race here I am sure. He did that two weeks back over the mile here when outside the speed and despite lacking change up speed to win, he stuck on and was good in defeat when fourth to Sir Kingsford. Third up so he should just about be at peak fitness…doubt he wins, but a must for multiples.

9 Chosen Miss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have had a decent grounding for a first up assault. She resumes for David Jolly, having not raced since April 10 at Oakbank when back off the speed and kept finding the line in a pretty strong effort behind Just Jazz, finishing a narrow second. She is a mare who is a bomb when produced fresh and with two jumpouts under the belt, the grounding is there.

6 Lancelotto (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness for Jon O’Connor. He ran over 1050m at Balaklava last time when near the speed throughout and was there to win but couldn’t quite get there when third to Satnastico. Yet to really prove himself at Saturday metro level but this isn’t really a Saturday metro race so he commands respect.

4 Real Valentia (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Kym Healy trained gelding that resumes. This guy last raced during the Darwin Cup Carnival when running okay without threatening on several occasions. Has run well fresh in the past and his recent trial here was a decent piece of work so keen to see how he goes.

10 Free Vino (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and he can go on with it. He was smashed in betting last Saturday on the Parks track and the market got it absolutely spot on. He made a mess of them, winning by over four lengths, but it could have been much further. Took a while to win a race but now that he has, he can certainly go on with it.

2 Whiskey N Women (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to be in for a really good prep for Jordan Frew. This gelding resumed four weeks ago over this trip at Murray Bridge where he was wide with cover but absolutely trucking it appeared before being clicked up when finding clear air and let down nicely to win and win well. Plenty of room for improvement, he rates highly.

4 Ghetto Superstar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the quick back up after racing last Wednesday on Geelong Cup Day where he got back off the speed and kept chasing, finding the line in a pretty solid effort behind talented mare Jennipending. Knocking on the door to win and from the inside gate, won’t be far away and can win for sure.

5 Pudding (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and he can certainly go on with it. He was a bit on the plain side in the Murray Bridge Cup two back but bounced back to winning form here two weeks ago, getting a lovely ride from Toeroek and in a driving finish, he was too good. He was only fourth up there, so you’d think with room for improvement, he rates highly against these.

6 Montepulciano (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is worth another look for Team Jolly. He ran in the Pudding race a fortnight back, his first run in five weeks, and I thought his effort was full of merit. He got too far back and spotted those in front a decent start but was solid to the line without threatening, running fourth to his stablemate. Better for the run, he’s dangerous if he can settle closer.

12 Arugamama (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a couple of weeks between runs after racing over the mile here where she just got too far back in a slowly run race and did make ground but was never a winning factor behind Jenkins. She is finding it hard to win but she is racing well and the depth here is a bit on the thin side. Dangerous for sure.

Fitter and up to 1200m are two big ticks for 2 Struck By (Bet Now:  $SP.00). Travis Doudle trains this gelding, who resumed over 1100m here two weeks ago where he was asked to lump 61kg fresh and first up in a truly run race, condition just gave way late when fourth to Anilla. Fab second up record and is better suited at 1200m vs 1100m. Enough there for me to say he can win this.

1 My Khalifa (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a quality galloper for the Richards/Moyle camp that resumes. He hasn’t raced since May 20 when producing an end of prep run in the R A Lee on testing ground behind quality mare Foxy Frida. Not a noted fresh horse but liked his trial here last week and if they go silly in front, look for him to be one of the strongest at the end.

10 Classy Kenny (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a hard horse to catch at times but his best is good enough to run top four. He ran two weeks back in the Sghirripa race where he got back to near last in the run and did make up ground without threatening behind the impressive winner. If he can get a drag into the race and be within range, he could well be a lock to run top four.
