3/5/2025 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Eagle Farm, Queensland Guineas day

8 El Pensador (Bet Now:  $SP.00) each way for me here. He resumed over 1400m here two weeks ago and was a real eye catcher in the race, closing with purpose in a strong effort in defeat behind Merchant Gold. Fitter and up to the mile, hoping he can get a drag into the race to launch at them late in the piece.

6 Voracious (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done little wrong since joining Tony Gollan and has to be respected. He ran second in the Merchant Gold race from a fortnight back here. He was attempting to lead throughout and gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through, nabbed late. Good racing style, but I think with a bunny to chase, he’ll be more effective.

4 Noble Conqueror (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous here after racing a weeks back at Doomben. He got into a decent spot off the speed but couldn’t get involved and was a bit on the plain side late in the piece. Hopefully firmer footing, I say he is a knockout hope.

6 Field Of Myrtle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to beat here I say. She ran over 1200m at Ipswich last start when ridden off speed and took a little while to wind into his work but was quite good late in the piece when third to Twyford. If she can be within range, I think she has the finale to take this out.

4 Floozie (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks like she is enjoying life under the care of Tony Gollan after formerly being with Price/Kent. First run for the stable came here a fortnight back where she gave them a start and a beating, producing good change up speed to score. Upside/improvement to come, she rates highly.

2 En Pointe (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to be back on track for Rob Heathcoate and can take this out. She ran two weeks back over this track/distance. She attempted to lead throughout and she gave a good sight from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through when fourth to Exotique Miss. Found positive form and commands respect.

8 Acres Away (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key chance for mine. Mark Currie trained gelding that ran over this track/distance two weeks back where he was on speed throughout and he tried his guts out but couldn’t quite get there when fourth to Floozie. I think with a bunny to chase, he’ll be more effective.

4 He’s Heaven (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous with his best. He finished midfield behind Exotique Miss. He got into a decent spot off the speed and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through, but I will say he was in inferior ground. Back to this grade of race, he’s in the mix.

2 Maximum Vortex (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing over 1200m here. He got into a decent spot behind the speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through behind Ourboros. Good racing style, in well after the claim, he can win.

6 Fleur De Monde (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a good thing if she maintains the way she’s currently racing. You can make a case to say she should have won her past two but has had no luck each time, the latest being two weeks ago here when a fast finishing second to Demon Darb. Hard fit and up to 1800m, she’ll take a power of beating.

5 Victory Win (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the one with good upside and a good racing style. That racing style saw him win last start. He landed on speed and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and score. He’s one of the leading contenders.

2 Warp Speed (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1800m after racing over 2200m here two weeks back where he was on speed throughout and he gave a strong kick but just couldn’t quite see it through when fourth. Good track/distance record, his best is good enough.

11 Anemacore (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1400m for Shaun Dwyer after racing over 1800m here four weeks ago. He got into a decent spot off the speed and he tried hard but couldn’t quite see it through. That said, he was close up and far from disgraced in defeat behind Caboche. Back in trip is fine, maps perfect and will be strong late.

10 Tavs (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up for Mark Currie after a dominant win last Saturday at this track/distance, giving them a start and an absolute beating in a sharp performance. Only has to hold that form and he’ll take beating once again.

12 En Pointe (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to be back on track for Rob Heathcoate and can take this out. She ran two weeks back over 1200m here. She attempted to lead throughout and she gave a good sight from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through when fourth to Exotique Miss. Found positive form and commands respect.

2 Torque To Be Sure (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a talented animal first up for Matty Dunn. He was heading down the Magic Millions path but did plenty wrong in the Gold Nugget and was spelled soon after. Given a good break, trial work has been strong…I think he’s the best horse in the race and hopefully the late market agrees.

8 Gobi Desert (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Kris Lees trained filly that resumes. This girl had two runs when last in work to start her career, winning the Max Lees on debut at Newcastle before a down the track effort in the Inglis Nursery. Been a good break, trial work has been strong…is this is a tune up for the Inglis race at Scone? Time will tell.

9 Get Ready Lass (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and run a positive race, as seen a few weeks back at Doomben when on speed and she gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite swee it through when nabbed late by Dragonne Rouge. Not sure she wins, but a first four threat.

16 Churchill’s Choice (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a three year old on the up for Nathan Doyle. She resumed two weeks ago in the James Carr and was a real eye catcher in restricted room when fourth to Lilac. Fitter, has good upside to come and will be strong late. One of the leading contenders.

3 Boomtown Boss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to stretch his brilliance to 1600m but hard to knock the way he has returned for Tony Gollan. He has won his past two, the latest being in the Daybreak Lover where he got the dream sit in transit before cutitng back inside and finished best to score. If he handles 1600m, he’s one of the leading contenders.

8 Superalloy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous with his best. He ran two weeks back in the Daybreak Lover where he got back off the speed and I thought was far from disgraced in defeat behind Boomtown Boss, beaten just under three lengths. Up to 1600m is fine, he should be strong late and is one for exotics.

4 Jedibeel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the one each way for me here. He has come through The Galaxy and TJ Smith his past two where he has been outclassed but far from disgraced each time, notably the TJ. This looks more his level and despite the tricky gate, I think he’s the each way play.

7 Hidden Wealth (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the short course specialist engaged here and I think he’s ready to rock and roll first up for Tony Gollan, having not raced since the Magic Millions QTIS when a strong all the way winner, seeing out the 1100m nicely. Like him fresh at 1200m, signalling intent, and will be out of trouble near the speed.

1 Rothfire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a class animal for Rob Heathcoate that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since The Buffering during the Summer Carnival when leading and was far from disgraced in defeat behind Transatlantic. Looked strong in a recent jumpout win here, he’ll press forward and is a proven WFA performer.

2 Snack Bar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1100m at Warwick Farm. He just lacked the initial change up speed to go with them when asked for the effort but he stayed on and was pretty good in defeat behind surprise winner One Destiny. Fitter, can settle closer, takes beating.

3 Apuntar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1300m after racing over the mile here two weeks back where he seemed to have his chance but was far from disgraced in defeat behind Depth Of Character. Back in trip is fine, he’s strong late…knockout hope.

5 Sammy Conquers All (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a talented animal for Noel Mayfield-Smith that ran five weeks back over 1200m here when off speed and kept chasing with purpose in the straight behind Boomtown Boss. The rise in trip is fine, first four chance.

BEST BET: Race Seven Number 16 Churchill’s Choice

NEXT BEST: Race Nine Number 2 Snack Bar

LONG SHOT: Race Two Number 6 Field Of Myrtle
