So, so close last Saturday with the big6, but Shadowfax let us down. Hopefully we can go one better on Wednesday at Betfair Park where the big6 is on races 3-8 with a $10,000 jackpot. Here is my $20 strategy.
Leg 1 – Competitive race for the fillies. Queen’s Delight has plenty of pace and will sit on the speed, just the last 100m will test. Parisian Sunrise looked plain last prep, but she resumes here, drawn well, Rosie Myers is riding well and this is a nice for her. Koonoomoo is still a maiden, but she looks a blacktype filly of the future. Got held up when resuming at Mornington behind Follonica, finishing a close second. Unknown on heavy ground, but being by Dubleo, she should get through it. Johannapine looked awesome when winning on debut by eight lengths. Has to take the next step, but she can handle it I think.
Leg 2 – Looks to be a race between the top three. Eramor ran her race in patches when resuming at Moonee Valley before picking up late for second. She’ll be better off for that and looks well placed against not much. Joyeux sat oustide Soul Mama and had the fitness edge late when winning. Meets Soul Mama 3kg better for that, so she has to be respected. Soul Mama was a well backed favourtie in that race and after leading, she fought on well for second. Has a nice barrier and should be hard to hold out.
Leg 3 – Humma Mumma will lead and look the winner. That’s how she races but the weight is a concern. But, Lisa Cropp takes the ride and in the winter, she is the only jockey you want to be on. Ourkohinoor got back and hit the line nicely at Moonee Valley. Expect her to fire here in the bigger surroundings. Bye Bella was a tad unlucky first up at Moonee Valley when she was on the fence and was going for the run but got cut out. Drawn to get the gun run, hard to beat.
Leg 4 – Only two hopes here. Irel is getting better with each run. He excels on wet ground and his run last week behind Pass Me By was good enough to feature here. The other main hope is Fer De Lance. Won two in a row before being given a poor ride last week in the 3100m race. Roger Booth rides here, he has won on the horse before. He won’t get stuck wide this time. If he has recovered well from last week, he can win.
Leg 5 – If ever a mare looked placed to win, it’s here with Cool Diva. Should have bolted in at Morphettville last start. She got back, was held up before getting out and flashing home. Loves the wet ground and Duncan Lane is riding in great form. Stand her out.
Leg 6 – No idea. Put the field in except the bottom four. This is a lottery.

Leg 3: 2, 4, 6
Leg 4: 1, 4
Leg 5: 2
Leg 6: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
