Joseph Galati gives us his expert tips and selections for Morphettville racing on the Parks circuit this Saturday.
Race 1 – Flood Relief Appeal 0-94 F&M Handicap, 1250m
Bella Leah (1) comes off a 3rd behind Broken and Stirling Grove in last weeks Morphettville sprint handicap and looks well placed here especially with the 3- kilogram claim of Jordan Frew. Bella Leah (1) is rated a $6 chance and should give plenty of sight. Always Discreet (5) and Tobouggie Woogie (3) are the main dangers.
(1) Bella Leah
(5) Always Discreet
(3) Tobouggie Woogie
Race 2 – Donate Now 0-94 Open Handicap, 2250m
A lot of runners coming back in distance of the stayers trip, Mycolada (3), on the other hand steps up to the 2250m after a very solid 5th at Flemington behind Fast Future. Mycolada (3) sat just off the speed on that occasion before being held up rounding the home turn and running on solidly. He looks very well placed here fourth up from a17month spell. Maunatrice (2) and Stakhanovite (4) also look a chance.
(3) Mycolada
(2) Maunatrice
(4) Stakhanovite
Race 3 – Sustainable Turf Renovations 0-86 Open Handicap, 1000m
Alexander Beetle (2) goes into the third race second up after finishing 5th behind Acorns and Happy Glen who ran the quinella in the last at Caulfield on Wednesday. He will lead and should get all the favours from barrier 1 and the weight relief from apprentice Billy Egan should help. Sophina (8) races very well over the track and distance whilst Cornelia Marie (4) loves a good rated track.
(2) Alexander Beetle
(8) Sophina
(4) Cornelia Marie
Race 4 – Adlab Advertising Handicap 0-75 3YO Handicap, 1000m
Race 4 for the 3 year olds looks a very handy race with Meadows Jim (4) having his first up run which suits and he faced good opposition last preparation, which should hold him in good stead for this race. Tropic Thunder (2) is well above average and will be very short and Bit Of A Dude (3) is handy.
(4) Meadows Jim
(2) Tropic Thunder
(3) Bit Of A Dude
Race 5 – Express Colour Printing 0-71 Open Handicap, 1250m
Race 5 is a very difficult first leg of the quaddie, although Sacred Snadee (2) looks a strong chance. The 4 year old son of Snaadee is having his first start for Matthew Seyers after racing in Victoria for Nikki Burke. He looks well placed against Glaze (5), the 5 year old mare transferred from the Moody stable to the Stokes yard. Whilst Zaazip (10) is a place chance.
(2) Sacred Snaadee
(5) Glaze
(10) Zaazip
Race 6 – SA Bookmakers 0-86 C,G & E Handicap 1250m
War Ends (5) looks well placed in this field for the Egan-Kavanagh combination. The barrier is of some concern but he looks to be the winner on paper. With form around Wind Shear, Harkaway and Fomalite, War Ends (4) looks perfectly placed. Road Warrior (6) and In The Chair (3) look place chances.
(4) War Ends
(6) Road Warrior
(3) In The Chair
Race 7 – CMI Toyota Handicap 0-75 Open Handicap 1550m
Public Holiday (13) for Patinack Farm trainer John Thompson and in form jockey Matthew Nielson looks a good each way bet and should go very close. His last start second was impressive. Dubai Storm (16) has had a win over the distance whilst Park Ranger (8) should be thereabouts with an apprentice claim. Go wide in this leg of the quaddie.
(13) Public Holiday
(16) Dubai Storm
(8) Park Ranger
Race 8 – Platinum Fine Homes 68+ Open Handicap 1400m
Candle (4) was our top selection last week and saluted at good odds. He is our top pick once again in the final event. The wide barrier is of some concern although he goes down in weight from his last start victory. Outlandish Lad (3) is a very honest galloper whilst Bohika (1) sits on $99,999 worth of prizemoney and will be hard pressed not to tick over the $100,000 mark in the last.
(4) Candle
(3) Outlandish Lad
(1) Bohika
BEST BET: Trifecta in Race 8 – Numbers: 1,3,4 / 1,3,4,5,9 / 1,3,4,5,9,13 /
