28/8/2021 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Doomben

4 Ruuca (Bet Now: $7.00) is a talented animal for Team Edmonds that resumes. He hasn’t raced since Feb 13 here when placing behind Garibaldi, who has seen gone on to perform well at Stakes level, so the form reads quite strong and his two trials leading in suggest he’s come back in good order.

3 The Move (Bet Now: $3.40) is resuming here for Tony Gollan and I’d suggest is hard to beat. Ended his Autumn prep on a high with two wins, firstly at Warwick Farm under J Mac before being too sharp for them at this track/distance. The stable have realised he’s a short course horse and the rewards are still there for him.

I doubt 2 One Stryke (Bet Now: $17.00) wins but he can threaten for a first four spot. Callow got the best out of him to win two weeks back at the Gold Coast, really lifting him late when it counted to win on the peg. Lands in a good spot from the draw and is a two time winner here.

4 Next Dimension (Bet Now: $3.50) has been so well placed by Kacy Fogden and confident he can make it three on the bounce. His latest win came a month ago over this track/distance near the speed throughout before being clicked up and away he went. He was dominant and the set up just looks idea once again.

1350m is short of an idea trip for 1 Achiever (Bet Now: $6.00) but he does come here as the clear class runner of the field given his Winter prep, where he ran third in the Frank Packer at Randwick before running fourth in the Queensland Derby. Just one trial to get ready, but has residual fitness, so watch the market.

6 Spokesman (Bet Now: $10.00) is a stablemate of Achiever that has the run under the belt. That run was over 1300m at Eagle Farm and he was impressive from off the speed, finishing best, just, to get the win, and landing good bets in the process. Is a second up winner and has to be respected.

13 Miami Fleiss (Bet Now: $1.90) is a classy mare for Tony Gollan that should be better for the resumption here five weeks ago. She was smashed in betting when on speed and her condition just ran out I thought when second to Eloquently. That form has already been ticked off, and this mare is fitter, with upside to come. Hard to beat.

8 She Can Sing (Bet Now: $3.80) is an absolute beauty for Michael Costa and confident she can win again. Led throughout to win three weeks ago at Doomben and I loved the ticker she showed. She was there to be run down but found plenty under pressure and was too good. Genuine, puts herself on speed and will prove tough to get past.

1 The Pines (Bet Now: $13.00) can be dangerous here at odds. She resumed behind She Can Sing in that race mentioned above and I really liked the way she finished her race off from the back behind the Costa mare. Gets a 4kg weight pull on that horse here and maps well, so she’s a definite winning chance.

6 Stardome (Bet Now: $4.80) is on the seven day back up for Chris Waller after racing last Saturday at Eagle Farm over 1800m. He was left quite flat footed when the sprint went on but he picked up late and was good to the line and through it behind Champagne Aunty. Has won on the back up before and up in trip is a big tick.

1 Dissolution (Bet Now: $6.50) has returned in really good order and is hard to beat against this lot. Looked in need of the run fresh behind Emerald Kingdom but stepped up to the mile and was an impressive winner when leading throughout at Eagle Farm. Upside to come, hard to beat.

4 He Runs Away (Bet Now: $17.00) is back to 2000m but has the Chris Waller polish. That 2200m came three weeks back here and worked home okay without threatening behind London Banker. Not sure I could back him to win, but given the stable, he gets some level of respect.

8 Prospectus (Bet Now: $11.00) is a beauty for Chris Waller that is rarely far away from the thick end of the prize. Ran over the mile at Doomben three weeks back and closed off his race strongly from off the speed when third to Dzsenifer, who is borderline Stakes class, so the form reads well and like him here.

4 Kubrick (Bet Now: $13.00) is an enigma but he has the class to take this out. I thought he did enough first up at Eagle Farm, chasing strongly from off the speed to finish third to Barney’s Law. He’s hard to catch, but the resumption was encouraging and a big tick is the rise in trip.

1 Matowi (Bet Now: $13.00) is a hard horse to catch but I think he’s racing well. Ran over the mile at Eagle Farm two weeks back and chased well from off a moderate clip when fourth to Dissolution. Yet to race at Doomben but does have strong Sydney metro form to command respect.

5 Weona Smartone (Bet Now: $1.80) is a very good son of Shamexpress for David Vandyke that resumes. Has won five of his six career outings, the latest coming over this track/distance back in June when bolting up by five. One trial to get ready, but he has class/quality and should make it 6/7 and potentially head South.

6 Dreamreacher (Bet Now: $6.00) is a beauty for the Heinrich camp that is yet to run a bad race this prep and I suspect that will continue here. On speed throughout when winning over 1400m at Eagle Farm several weeks ago, fending off and beating Champagne Aunty, who won her next start, so the form reads well, back to 1200m no issue and he’s just so genuine.

11 Hidden Hail (Bet Now: $11.00) is racing really well at the moment for Barry Lockwood and is a key chance I feel. Had a suck run behind the speed when winning here three weeks ago, getting the split nearer the inside and finishing best. Harder here, but think he’ll run well for sure.

The class and quality of 1 Prince Of Boom (Bet Now: $2.40) gets him home fresh. Rob Heathcoate trains this three year old, who ran really well in a short space of time during the Winter Carnival, highlighted by a Sires win. Not sure what his premium trip is but looked sharp in a Doomben trial win and he does have class.

Fitter and up in trip, want to give 9 Glorious Ruby (Bet Now: $12.00) another chance. Good filly for Bryan Dais that resumed at Eagle Farm two weeks ago over 1000m. I just think she found the set up too sharp when second to Princess Bojack, a short course filly. 1200m and back on a track she’s proven at, I’ll give her another look.

13 Secret Tales (Bet Now: $17.00) deserves another look away from Eagle Farm. She did win there at the end of last prep but first up a fortnight back, just not sure she let down on the track. Had trialled well prior to that and fitter, up in trip, her best is certainly good enough to be dangerous.

6 At Witz End (Bet Now: $4.60) has been an absolute find in recent weeks/months. He’s gone from a Country Cup horse to a fully fledged Saturday class horse and potentially on the verge of blacktype. He has won three on the bounce and each time he has been dominant, including here three weeks ago. Has to be respected.

13 Wapiti (Bet Now: $4.20) looks to be in for a good prep. Market loved him when he resumed three weeks back over 1350m here and the move almost came off when second to the very much in form At Witz End, firing in an unsuccessful protest. Fitter, he’ll take a power of beating.

11 Run For Glory (Bet Now: $7.50) is the one with good upside to come I feel for Tony Gollan. He resumed behind Royal Hale at Eagle Farm. Just left a bit flat footed when the sprint went on but picked up and was good late in running third. Whether he wants a rise in trip or not, not sure, but hard to beat all the same.

10 Acrobatic (Bet Now: $4.40) on top in the get out. Kelly Schweida trained four year old that was in a bit of trouble when racing at this track/distance last time out but Jaden Lloyd was able to slice his way through on the fence, got the split and dashed clear. Senior jock takes over, good speed and will be strong at the end.

13 Jetski (Bet Now: $8.00) is racing as if he will appreciate the rise in trip for the Sears camp, a stable that has found a purple patch this month. This guy ran over 1200m at Eagle Farm two weeks back and closed off strongly from the back when fourth to Dusty Tycoon. If he can see out the 1350m, which I think he can, he’s a leading contender.

19 Scottish Mist (Bet Now: $6.50) has upside to come and can take this out. Rob Heathcoate trained mare that resumed at Eagle Farm a fortnight back. Paraded like she would need the run and the market agreed ($4.4-$8.5). The run married up with the betting flucs but she still ran a credible race, all things considered. Fitter, gets onto a more preferred track and has plenty of room for improvement.
