27/6/2026 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Morphettville, Oaklands Plate day

Nine races will be run and won at Morphettville Parks this Saturday, headlined by the Oaklands Plate (1400m). The weather is fine, the track is soft (6) and the rail is out six metres from the 1000m-Winning Post; Out three metres for the remainder.

2 Wind Rush (Bet Now: $4.00) is on the seven day back up after racing on the course proper last Saturday, landing on speed and when he kicked, he was hailed as the winner but was nabbed late when third, just feeling the pinch. Front end control, he takes running down.

5 Saint Boom (Bet Now: $21.00) will love the drop in grade/depth after contesting a strong 76 at Murray Bridge where she had a decent run in transit just off speed but whacked in the run to the line. Much better suited here, she’s a definite improver.

8 Petit Eagle (Bet Now: $15.00) was good in defeat at a big price at Murray Bridge two weeks back. She got a fair way out of her ground but didn’t mind the way she finished her race off when fourth. If she can be within range, she’s got the finale to be dangerous.

1 Farhh Flung (Bet Now: $6.50) looks to have found positive form. I thought he was brave at Swan Hill last start given in the Cup given he was wide throughout yet was still there chipping away when a close up fourth. He’s found positive form, he can certainly go on with it.

6 Surprise Coming (Bet Now: $6.00) tried his guts out at Murray Bridge two weeks ago. He was just off speed before being presented clear air and loomed to win but just found one better in Enna’s Dream. Hard fit, rising in trip, he’s a key chance.

4 Crimson Vine (Bet Now: $31.00) is a Sarah Rutten trained mare that resumes. She hasn’t raced since the Adelaide Cup where she ran a super race in defeat when fourth. Likely will spot them a start but should be strong at the end.

4 Stirrup Cup (Bet Now: $4.00) should be around the mark. He was there to win at Murray Bridge two weeks ago when off speed and finishing off strongly but had to settle for a second to I Catchem Fox. Knocking on the door and strikes a winnable race.

7 Hot Too Go (Bet Now: $2.90) should appreciate getting to 2000m. He resumed three weeks back over the mile at Flemington where he paraded like he would need the run and that is how it panned out. Fitter, up in trip, good upside to come, he’s dangerous against these.

9 Eaglelou (Bet Now: $21.00) is just under two weeks between runs for the Magro camp after a win at Balaklava, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. He has run well in town before and off a win, does command respect.

1 Sir Now (Bet Now: $2.00) is an absolute bulldog that just thrives on the short course racing and is a proven weight carrier, as seen at Murray Bridge two weeks ago. He lumped 60kg but it mattered not as he was strongest on the line in another impressive display. No reason why he can’t win again.

4 Winning Revolution (Bet Now: $21.00) ran second to Sir Now at Murray Bridge last start. He sat back off speed and kept chasing in the straight but did seemingly have his chance. Great record on the Parks track, he appeals against these.

10 Deepfloat Diva (Bet Now: $6.00) ran fourth to Omaha Dawn three weeks back here. He got into a decent spot in transit and was there to threaten but just whacked late. Maps ideally and down in the weights, he’s in the mix.

6 Brevitas (Bet Now: $4.20) should love getting to 1400m after a win over 1200m at Murray Bridge two weeks ago, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive return off a mini freshen. Good upside to come and rising to 1400m, she takes beating against these.

1 Lalor (Bet Now: $2.70) ran a game second to Brevitas a fortnight back at Murray Bridge. He got back and saved ground nearer the inside, driving hard late when second. 1400m, I think, is okay, and has good upside, plus can settle much closer in the run.

13 Contrary (Bet Now: $91.00) took on the older horses when debuting over 1100m at Strathalbyn. She got off speed and was never a threat, but her finale was sound enough in defeat I thought. Like her up to 1400m, think she’ll be strong late…knockout hope.

2 Royal Sway (Bet Now: $3.30) is a filly for Team Jaensch that is clearly heading in the right direction. Two on the bounce for this girl, the latest being a few weeks ago over the mile on the course proper when getting a peach steer and finished best. Happy to be with her once again despite coming back in trip.

1 Oak Park Maddison (Bet Now: $15.00) was 1600m back to 1200m when racing two weeks ago at Murray Bridge and I thought was a real eye catcher from the back when closing strongly near the inside to finish second. Back up in trip, she’ll run a beauty.

3 Davida (Bet Now: $6.00) steps up to 1300m after resuming over 1200m, landing on speed and was there to threaten but when asked for the effort, the wheels were spinning and she dropped out. Fimer deck and fitter, she’s an improver.

3 Halliwell (Bet Now: $6.50) comes back to SA after racing last Wednesday at Caulfield Heath where she got off speed and looked to be full of running but didn’t really get room to move. If the breaks go her way here, she can win.

12 Extra Hot (Bet Now: $11.00) is a little beauty for Team Blanch. Loved the way she dug in to win at Murray Bridge because the race was there to be won but she found under pressure to fend them off and get there. Her confidence is up, she can win again.

14 Royal Scripture (Bet Now: $23.00) is a Richards/Moyle trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Feb 28 when down the track over 1400m at Morphettville Parks. He can sprint well fresh and his trial work has been encouraging. One for exotics.

Keen on 2 Tobikko (Bet Now: $2.05). Thought he was quite good two weeks ago at Murray Bridge over 1100m, getting back in the run but worked home with purpose. Has a gate to stalk the speed and will be strong at the end.

9 So Polite (Bet Now: $10.00) is three weeks between runs since an all the way win at this track/distance, leading throughout and found plenty under pressure to score. Lands on speed and will only run well once again.

6 Madam Jeanette (Bet Now: $21.00) did a pretty good job first up at this track/distance three weeks back when on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there behind Omaha Dawn. Good racing style and fitter, she’s dangerous.

4 Annihilate (Bet Now: $11.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance where he really struggled on the bog and couldn’t pick his feet up late in the piece. Prior efforts were sound and on a firmer deck, I think he can run a much improved race.

12 Swycho (Bet Now: $14.00) is a Michael Hickmott trained mare that is several weeks between runs since racing over the mile on the course proper here, sitting wide no cover and dropped out to finish the track behind Nicajon. Fresh legs and back in trip, she’s dangerous.

10 Falanghina (Bet Now: $8.00) is knocking on the door. She ran second to Extra Hot two weeks ago at Murray Bridge, driving hard from off speed but just couldn’t quite get there when beaten a lip. Like her back up in trip, good upside to come, she takes beating.
