2026 San Domenico Stakes Runner Preview:
1. Guest House: Guest House, on paper, is the best horse in the race…just not sure where he is at? I thought his trial behind Warwoven, to my eye, was quite average. He was asked for an effort and was solid, but he didn’t have the flashing light of returning in beast mode. That said, he has the runs on the board to say he commands respect.
2. Berzelius: Won the BRC Sires last preparation and resumes here. Has plenty of quality but fresh over 1100m I think the rest of the field will be too sharp for him.
3. Music Time: Are we underestimating Music Time? He was excellent last season, winning the Black Opal before a ripping effort in the Slipper. Loved his recent trial and I think he is very much suited at 1100m vs some of these, who may want further.
4. Warwoven: Warwoven is a smart colt that resumes for Bjorn Baker. Things just didn’t go to plan for him towards the end of last prep after looking a star early on. Given a good break and his trial work indicates he’s well and truly here to play.
5. Revengeance: I think he’s a really nice colt but first up off a long break…I don’t think so. Maybe later on in the prep.
6. Blue Door: I don’t think she went THAT hard in The Rosebud and was run down late, albeit first up. But, I do think she’ll be getting the staggers late and want to be hard against her.
7. Half Pipe: Sneaky good in The Rosebud. Better ride, he’s dangerous here.
8. Wild Atlantic: I thought Autumn Glow was Baby Winx…the trial pervs are saying this horse could be Baby Winx 2.0. Trials have been electric…he’s a big yard/market watch.

Looks pretty straight forward here with Blue Door showing her early toe to lead. Music Time and Revengeance will come across but doubt they will cross the filly. But, the tempo should be very genuine.
