A nine event program has been set down for Belmont on Saturday for Idyllic Prince Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

2 Hymns Of Eladdair (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to be heading in the right direction for Adam Durrant. He has won his last two, both at Pinjarra, the latest coming over this trip where he got an absolute picnic in front and gave nothing else a look in. Harder here, but confident he can measure up.

3 Happy As Larry (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has the right racing pattern to give himself every chance. He ran at the midweeks at this track/distance last start when an all the way winner and what I liked is that he copped heat early on but absorbed it and drew clear late for a dominant win. If he finds the front and gets control, he’ll take beating.

7 State Of Fury (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a six start maiden but she is a filly who does have talent. She is just under three weeks between runs since contesting a maiden at this track/distance when just off the speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite get there when fourth to Happy As Larry. Pike takes over, which I find interesting, and drawn tricky…but I think watch the market.

6 Costazita (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a very nice horse for Trevor Andrews so I am keen to see how he resumes here. He hasn’t raced since his debut win at Ascot back in December when a sharp winner from off the speed and looking every bit a Saturday class horse. Ideal kick off point for him here and the trial to get ready looked a nice piece of work. Happy to be in his corner.

5 Bread To Flirt (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a model of consistency for Team Gangemi and should be around the mark, like she was when racing here last Wednesday where she was as honest as ever from just odd the speed but couldn’t quite get there. Maps ideally again, hard fit, in form, she commands respect.

1 Famous Jurney (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a definite winning chance back to this level. He ran two week back in a strong 66+ when attempting to lead throughout and did give a solid mini kick but couldn’t quite finish it off behind Duchess Of Gossip. If he gets the front and control, he’ll take running down.

5 Bandalera Miss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. Fred Kersley trained mare that ran over the mile here two weeks ago where I thought Pike gave her every chance and she was there to win but couldn’t quite get there behind Sowar. She is a proven stayer so up to 2100m a big tick and has upside.

2 Sowar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and he can certainly go on with it. That win came a fortnight back over the mile here. He was strong to the line in winning and won like a horse wanting more ground, which he gets here. Leading contender for sure.

6 Etomorp (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a knockout hope. He doesn’t have the best of racing patterns but will be finishing off his race better than most, as seen here two weeks back when near last and making up good ground without threatening. Dangerous if he gets a drag into the race.

4 Sisu Warrior (Bet Now:  $SP.00)…surely it’s his race. He looked all over the winner when racing two weeks ago here but couldn’t get past stablemate Pompey, who was on speed and just fought on too strongly. He was a few weeks between runs there so with improvement, gate one, Pike sticking…it’s his race to lose.

1 Pompey (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the key and I dare say only threat. He did win the race mentioned above and credit to him because he did the work on speed and was there to be run down but he really found late under pressure under CJP to win. Loses him but gets in well after the claim and will keep fighting.

7 Zero Demerits (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is potentially a sleeper here at odds. He ran three weeks back at this track/distance when wide no cover for the trip and that hard run just told late in the piece behind Zephyra. With a more economical run in transit, he can be dangerous at a price.

1 Crescent City (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is just about the most frustrating horse to follow in WA given he has the talent to be a Stakes class horse but he just keeps letting punters down. Despite that, he is flying and I am confident he takes this out. Ran over this track/distance two weeks ago and was very good from off the speed but couldn’t quite get the win when second to Currimundi. D-Day IMO.

3 Currimundi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Steve Wolfe with the gelding really appreciating the wet tracks. Lapped up the mud to win two back and while the track wasn’t as wet a fortnight back, it still had juice in it and he was impressive. Harder here, but it’s hard to knock how well he’s racing.

4 The Spruiker (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is working up to another win. Whether it is here, not sure, but I am convinced he is racing well. He ran last Saturday at this track/distance and was very good from the back behind impressive winner Starry Heights, clocking the best late splits of the race. Must for multiples.

5 Fly Away Home (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness for Dan Morton. Latest run came last Wednesday over 1400m here on testing ground when getting back to near last in the run and made up a stack of ground in a good effort when third. Hard fit now and up in trip, if he gets a drag into the race, he’ll take beating.

9 Lucky’s Way (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up for Simon Miller after causing somewhat of a surprise when winning here last Saturday. She had the right run in transit and finished best to win what was a moderate race. More depth but now she has a win on the board, she can go on with it.

4 Arcadia Grace (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a big, big improver here I feel for Mick Grantham. She ran last Saturday at this track/distance in a strong race when far from disgraced in defeat behind the in form Starry Heights. Back a fair bit in depth, I think she will only run well.

3 Valency (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the one to beat. Talented mare that resumed two weeks ago at this track/distance when back in the run but trucked and loomed to win when let down but being first up, condition just gave way when a narrow second in a race where they ran good time. Good improvement to come, she’s the one for me.

7 Little Strawberry (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a model of consistency and should be around the mark for Mitch Pateman. Three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when near the speed throughout and for a few strides did look the winner but couldn’t quite go on with it when a narrow third to Storm Commander. Good racing style, she commands respect.

1 Cut The Talk (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a definite winning chance. He resumed two weeks back here where he didn’t get the clearest of paths in the straight but when clear, he did find the line well enough behind Invincible Ruby. He has more upside than most and is a proven Saturday metro performer.

1 Valour Road (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is eight years of age and hasn’t raced since May 2022, but he is a class animal when right and off the trials, I think he is ready to go. That last run was in the Belmont Sprint when seemingly having every chance behind God Has Chosen. The trial work to get ready has been strong and at his best, he is better than these, so I’ll back him in.

7 Phanta (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beauty for Team Gangemi and has to be respected. 2/2 this time in, winning the Newmarket two weeks ago over 1200m and credit to him, he fought hard from on speed to dig in and win when it looked like he would get beaten. Has the hard race experience/fitness, which should hold him in good stead.

9 Ginger Flyer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday over the mile in the Blue Spec when attempting to lead throughout and she did give a strong kick but couldn’t quite finish it off behind Ginger Baker. Back in trip I like and I’m sure will give a sight.

8 Red Fifty Three (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to pick himself here doesn’t he. His run was enormous here last Saturday given he was back near last in the run in a slowly run race and did a great job to finish off like he did and get as close, clocking the best late splits of the meeting. If within range, good luck beating him.

4 Magnificent Andy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very genuine animal that resumes. Love horses that go out for a spell on a high and that is what this horse did, winning two races on the bounce before being spelled. Trial work has been strong, he can sprint well fresh and while 1200m is on the sort side for him, he does have a bit of quality.

6 Multiverse (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one I can entertain for wider multiples. He resumed three weeks back where they rode with intent, sitting on speed, and he did give a mini kick but being first up, condition gave way behind Hint Of Mint. Better for the run under the belt, I’m saying he can finish top four.

NEXT BEST: Race Six Number 5 Fly Away Home

LONG SHOT: Race Five Number 1 Crescent City
