25/9/2021 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Morphettville

The Parks track at Morphettville will play host to a nine race card on Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out seven metres from the 1000m-Winning Post; Out four metres for the remainder.

3 Max Fire (Bet Now: $3.60) was scratched from Oakbank on Wednesday in preference for this, which might be a good lead. His maiden win did come at Oakbank when on speed throughout before being clicked up by Hurdle and away he went. He was dominant and overall, this isn’t a strong race, so with the claim, I think he’ll take beating.

2 Wings Of Courage (Bet Now: $2.60) looks hard to beat for the Richards/Moyle camp. Had been knocking on the door to win his maiden and it finally came last time out in a 1200m maiden on the course proper a fortnight back in dominant fashion. Bred to appreciate more ground and is a key chance.

6 Abit Rattley (Bet Now: $7.50) is still a maiden but Jordan Frew has him going well. Game third two back in a 1500m maiden at Gawler behind Castle Of Kings. Then came back to 1400m last Wednesday at Balaklava when leading and looked home, only to be bloused on the peg by The Map. He’ll run an honest race.

5 Perfect Route (Bet Now: $2.25) has found winning form and confident he can continue that trend. Three weeks between runs since racing over this track/distance when on a strong speed and was entitled to drop away, he surged, drew clear and was impressive. Now he has that winning feeling, he can go on with it.

7 Sign Of Ussuri (Bet Now: $3.10) is a key threat. Around a month between runs when racing over this track/distance three weeks back. He was back near last in the run and was never really a winning factor given the start he conceded but he was good late behind Perfect Route. Dangerous if he can sit closer in the run.

8 Magnetic Edge (Bet Now: $4.60) saves his best for the Parks track. Strong win over 1400m here two back before backing up a week later, coming back to 1300m, and running a very honest race behind a talented animal, Ecumenical. Back up in trip, he’ll take a power of beating.

4 Jaazeb (Bet Now: $3.60) looks a smart customer for the Richards/Moyle camp and he can resume a winner here. Had a two run prep in the Winter to start his career, both coming at Murray Bridge, the latest on July 3 when second to a smart horse I think in Belle Of Yorkes. Jumped out well to get ready and finds a thin race as a whole I feel.

9 Legless Lady (Bet Now: $4.20) has a decent engine under the hood. Macdonald/Gluyas trained filly that had a two run in the Autumn, both runs being at Stakes level, and while she was never a winning factor, she was far from disgraced behind some talented types. Jumped out well here for her return. 1000m is on the short side, but will be strong late.

11 Philonize (Bet Now: $2.25) will put herself on speed and give her all. Resumed at this track/distance three weeks back when showing good early speed to be near the front and tried hard, but was bloused late by an in form Hanabi. Gets right down in the weights, lands on speed and will give a bold sight.

Fitter and up in trip, in the corner of 4 Exalted Ambition (Bet Now: $4.40). On the quick back up after racing last Saturday over 2000m on the course proper here. Did work to get on speed and put the pressure on, kicking strongly until the final 150m when tiring. Gets in well after the claim, back to a track he likes and for mine, only runs well.

3 Slipintothis (Bet Now: $3.50) is becoming a more consistent animal for Patrick Payne and finds a very winnable Saturday metro race. Did work early to find the front last start at Wangaratta and with 62kg on his back, he was entitled to tire, but found in the straight and was too good. Hard to beat.

1 Bertwhistle (Bet Now: $19.00) has class on her side and that will carry her a long way. Ran last Wednesday in the Balaklava Cup where she was back near last in the run and didn’t come on, failing to beat a runner home. Much better suited in a race like this and gets in well after the claim.

Back to 1000m I like for 6 Garrire (Bet Now: $8.50). Resumed over 1200m on the course proper here two weeks ago and for mine, the tempo of the 1200m ensured she was keen in the run and failed to finish it off. Back to a fast run 1000m, she’ll do no work from the draw and can bounce back.

1 Silver Melody (Bet Now: $8.00) has sustained speed, which should hold her in good stead for this kind of race on this track. Matty Seyers trained mare that had a stint in Darwin, where she won two of three. Came back to Seyers where she ran two weeks ago, sat on a fast speed, and tired late behind Howl. Giving her another look back in depth.

4 Akkacan (Bet Now: $8.00) hasn’t won since Moses parted the sea, but he’s racing well and is a must for exotics. Loomed to win a few weeks back on the Parks track but couldn’t get past Aston Rapova and had to settle for second. Not sure I could back him to win, but a definite first four threat.

5 Extra Time (Bet Now: $1.65) should take some beating here for the Macdonald/Gluyas camp. Has done little wrong in two outings this prep. Scored a sharp win first up before racing two weeks ago when run off his legs but found the line quite well behind dominant winner Lombardo. Third up, hard fit, he’ll be hard to hold out.

4 Don’tdreamitisover (Bet Now: $11.00) is a Michael Hickmott trained gelding that resumes. This former UK galloper has done a pretty good job since coming to Australia. Hasn’t raced since April 17 on the course proper here when third to a tough on speed galloper, Surreal Image. Can sprint well fresh, so watch the market.

7 Hankstar (Bet Now: $15.00) saves his best for the Parks track and can be a big improver here. Resumed over 1200m on the course proper two weeks back where he was run off his legs pretty much by Lombardo and couldn’t get into the contest. Back to his preferred track, an improved showing is on the cards.

6 Point Blaze (Bet Now: $4.80) is flying for Shayne Cahill and no reason why she can’t win again. Eye catching return behind Lohn Ranger before going to 1200m two weeks ago on the course proper here when given a sweet steer by Crowther, sitting closer in the run and in the end, that was the difference between winning and losing. Hard to beat now she’s just about at peak fitness and up in trip.

1 Star Of Uma (Bet Now: $2.30) is a quality mare that comes here off a let up for Team McEvoy. Hasn’t raced for two months, her last run coming over 1250m here back in July when fourth to Lake’s Folly. Can’t find a recent jumpout, so the market will be your guide as to how forward she is, but she’s got the talent.

5 Biarchi (Bet Now: $21.00) is a David Jolly trained mare that resumes. This girl was around the mark last season when it comes the Oaks path, her low rating ensuring she didn’t get a run in the Oaks, but did place in the Fillies Classic. 1300m is short of her best, but she has a touch of class.

Back on firmer footing, a sharp trial to get ready, I’m quite keen on 1 Taken Off (Bet Now: $5.00) for Phillip Stokes. This gelding resumed here six weeks ago on a bottomless track here and failed to pick his feet up behind He’s A Balter. Freshened up after that flop and looked trial very well at Murray Bridge. Back on top of the ground, confident he can bounce back.

8 Ideas Man (Bet Now: $14.00) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with the Maher/Eustace camp that had one run for David Jolly last prep but was a tired horse and looking for the paddock. Has had a good break and a full prep under Jolly, with a recent trial/jumpout looking sharp. Keen to see how he goes.

5 Little Rich Boy (Bet Now: $15.00) only knows one way to run, which is flat out in front, and that is the set up that suits this track. Resumed two weeks back on the course proper here when outside the speed and putting the pressure on, just tiring late and running out of condition. Good second up record, suited on this track, he’ll run a bold race.

If this track is playing fairly, 6 Morialta (Bet Now: $3.40) is clearly the one to beat. Ran last Wednesday at Balaklava where he got back to near last in the run but loved the way he closed off late when fourth to So Say Angel, an in form mare. Just wants a fair track and think she’ll take a power of beating.

10 Impossible Action (Bet Now: $6.00) is third up from a break and should just about be at peak fitness. Wide with cover when racing on the course proper here two weeks ago and peeled out, presenting to win. Just lacked the turn of foot to put them away when fourth to Point Blaze. That form reads well for this.

4 Angaston (Bet Now: $5.00) is racing well for Jon O’Connor. Just can’t quite crack it for a win. Looked like it would come last Wednesday on Balaklava Cup Day but had to settle for a close up second to an in form So Say Angel. Good record on the Parks track, he’s a definite winning threat.

BEST BET: Race Nine Number 6 Morialta

NEXT BEST: Race Eight Number 1 Taken Off

LONG SHOT: Race Five Number 6 Garrire
