Race 1. (13:59) Tabtouch - Westspeed Platinum (Rs0ly) 1000m
3 My Hidden Universe (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a tick under 12 months between runs but I think he can resume a winner. His last run was June 29 last year when making it 3/3 when a winner over 1300m here. 1000m is on the short side but has a touch of quality about him and his recent trial was sharp.
8 Exporose (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has been well placed this time in and commands respect despite the class/depth rise. She has won three on the bounce, her latest two being at York where she has produced sustained speed from the front and gave nothing else a look in. Lands on speed and takes running down.
1 Bondi Bubbles (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came last Wednesday down the straight at Pinjarra when far from disgraced in defeat behind Galaxy Affair. His best is good enough to threaten so don’t dismiss him.
Race 2. (14:34) Quayclean (Bm66+) 2200m
1 Fat Roy Slim (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has to lump the weight but I do think his class edge gets him home. He ran two weeks ago voer this trip at Ascot. He got into a decent spot off the speed and tried hard but just found one better in Zaza Rock. Yes, has to lump 62kg, but he’s clearly the best horse in the race and gets Pike to steer.
2 Zaza Rock (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) won the race mentioned above from two weeks ago. She got a peach from CJP and in a driving go, finished best to score. Creeping up in the relative weights but hard to knock the way she’s racing.
6 Chuck A Luck (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing over this trip at Ascot. He got off speed and was never really threatening behind Keggs Later but stayed on and he was sound in defeat. Not sure he is good enough to win but can run top four.
Race 3. (15:11) liable Asset Maintenance (Rs1mw) 1600m
7 Mojo’s Luck (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is third up from a spell, should be hard fit and appeals as one of the hardest to beat against this lot. He ran over the mile at Ascot two weeks ago where he got into a decent spot off the speed but when asked to respond, he was a bit on the one paced side late in the piece. I think with his best, he is the one to beat.
6 I’m Nipote (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) steps up to the mile after racing over 1400m a fortnight back at Ascot. He got off the speed and just whacked in the run to the line behind Kelvinator. Prior efforts were sound so don’t dismiss him.
5 Forever Boy (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after resuming over 1400m here last Saturday when off speed and was never really a threat behind Speed Dream. Had trialled well prior and up in trip, she’s an improver at odds.
Race 4. (15:51) Peters Investments Hcp 1400m
3 Pond Master (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has found winning form and he can go on with it. He ran two weeks ago at Ascot where he gave them a start and a beating, getting a peach from Pike to win and win well. Good record at Belmont, he’s found winning form, he’s the one to beat.
1 Elite Missile (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs for Stephen Miller, having not raced since April 12 when racing over 1400m at Ascot when doing work to land on speed and the early burn just told on him late in the piece. Back to his own age, and has class on his side.
10 Fingers (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) comes through the Pond Master race from two weeks back. She attempted to lead throughout and gave a decent kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through when fourth. Not sure she is good enough to win but can run top four.
Race 5. (16:40) Unite Resourcing Plate 1200m
15 Noneofyourbusiness (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is the way I am leaning here. Stephen Miller trains this Playing God filly, that is on debut off the back of a placing over 950m at Lark Hill when a narrow second and seemed to move quite well to my eye. Maps ideally and this isn’t an overly deep juvenile contest.
3 Bassett Hound (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a well bred juvenile that is on debut for Mitch Pateman. He trialled at Ascot last Monday where he moved quite well to win and ran decent time relative to the meeting. The draw makes things tricky but he does look above average.
14 Moonwalk (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a daughter of Bondi that is having her first start for Team Williams. She has had two trials under the belt to get ready for start one, the latest trial coming at Lark Hill when fourth and had more to offer. Stable can get them ready for the debut so watch betting.
Race 6. (17:10) Mason Cooper 21St Birthday (Rs1mw) 1400m
9 King Akeed (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after resuming over 1200m here last Saturday. He got into a decent spot off the speed and just lacked the change up speed to go with them late in the piece behind Sky Duke. Maps to get a sweet run in transit and up to 1400m, he is one of the hardest to beat at a likely decent price.
3 Manhattan Strip (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has a tricky draw to overcome but he looks to have returned really well after resuming at Northam where he gave them a start and a beating, letting down with purpose to win and win well. Pike sticks and has good upside to come.
2 Toni’s Spirit (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a Jordan Rolfe trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since Jan 4 when back near last in the run and couldn’t quite get involved behind Rocking Society. She is a mare who has performed well at Belmont previously and can sprint well fresh so watch betting.
Race 7. (17:45) Belmont Sprint 1400m
12 The Boss Lady (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is the each way bet for me. She comes through the Northam Stakes where she just got too far out of her ground and while she was never beating West Star, she worked home well with real purpose. If she can settle closer, be within range, she’ll be hard to hold out.
1 Western Empire (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is the class of the field and class will carry him a long way. He resumed in The Quokka where he was wide throughout and just couldn’t get involved behind Jokers Grin. Great record at Belmont, he can bounce back.
2 Comfort Me (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) ran third in the Northam Stakes to West Star. He had the suck run in transit and did try hard but had no answers late. Not sure he wins but can run top four.
Race 8. (18:20) Free Entry To Belmont Park (Bm78+) 1200m
10 Storyville (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is the winner if she’s ready to go. She resumes for Team Williams, having not raced since the Northerly during the Summer when producing an end of Oreo run behind Light Infantry Man. Given a good break and her recent trial win was electric. Keen.
5 Stormchaser (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since a first up win at Ascot where he gave them a start and a beating, letting down with purpose late to win and win well. If there is no second uo syndrome, he’s a threat.
13 Frigid (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a Michael Grantham trained mare that resumes. She is first up after a prep during the Carnival last year where she didn’t quite fire after a stint in Victoria. Trialled well, I’d say watch betting.
Race 9. (18:55) A-1 Engineering (Bm66+) 1200m
2 Keep Attacking (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is worth a throw at the stumps in the last. He resumed five weeks ago over 1200m at Ascot where he got run off his legs and was good okay late without threatening. Fitter, can settle closer and be effective late.
6 Keep Ita Mystery (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday over 1000m here. He got off speed and kept chasing with purpose in the straight in a good effort in defeat behind Richanco. If the 1200m is fine, he is one of the leading contenders.
1 Royal Toronado (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a Team Williams trained gelding that resumes. He is first up after a failed Perth Cup bid, with the prep ending in the ATA. He’s better suited over further but should be strong late and has clsss.
