View Adam Pages Wednesday (23/3/2011) Big 6 selections at Warwick Farm including his race by race selections.
Leg 1 – If Carved In Stone put his best foot forward, he’d win and win easily. But he just has not put it together on race day so he is a risk but he did finish seventh, beaten three lengths in the Golden Slipper last year behind Crystal Lily. Dangers appear to be Helvetian Pride, Tapakeg and She Must Be Obeyed.
Leg 2 – Rogano resumes and looked very good in a recent barrier trial. Rain Affair was galloped on first up when finishing second and should improve sharply while I Rule The World is rock hard fit and does have handy form.
Leg 3 – Fusilier showed a good turn of foot to win well at Hawkesbury last start. Rises to city grade but the depth in this race is very thin. Strumming is knocking on the door after producing some solid races of late and Gee Eff Cee has shown a liking for wet tracks and he should get that here.
Leg 4 – I think the first four will fight this out. Lioncub was beautifully ridden to score a narrow win last start over Livin’ On The Edge, who is in this race as well but meets the winner worse off at the weights. Quidnuc showed her class with a dominant win over stablemate Merge at Canterbury first up. Back on her home track, she’ll be hard to beat and Danza King had no luck at all last start. He has form on slow ground and likes the track.
Leg 5 – Play as wide as possible here. I’d put in Bench Star, Full Blast, Sandhurst, Raging To Win and Mossmoney. But again, if you like another horse, put it in there because it is a very open race.
Leg 6 – If Potions doesn’t win this, then the filly needs to be retired. Look at what has beaten her in the five starts she has raced: Torios Quest (Magic Millions winner), Spurcific (Performed well during the Melbourne Cup Carnival), Star Witness (Ran second to Black Caviar), Obseqiuous (Dual blacktype winner) and Parables (Dual group winner). She has the form on the board, meets an ordinary bunch here and with normal luck she’ll blitz these. Stand her out.
Leg 1: 2, 4, 5, 8
Leg 2: 2, 5, 6
Leg 3: 4, 6, 10
Leg 4: 1, 2, 3, 4
Leg 5: 1, 3, 4, 5, 7
Leg 6: 12
