SA metro racing this Saturday heads to Murray Bridge. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

2 Maracourt (Bet Now: $3.00) is the class factor and I think that gets him home, especially on the home track. Latest run was over the mile at Morphettville when back near last and made up decent headway without threatening. 2000m looks ideal and if within range, I think class gets him home.

3 Burning Bright (Bet Now: $4.40) is three weeks between runs since contesting the Port Adelaide Cup when on speed, chasing Sir Kingsford and just felt the pinch late in the piece. Back to 2000m and back to this level, she’s dangerous.

8 Whatsanamegeorge (Bet Now: $23.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1350m at Strathalbyn where he just found them a bit sharp and was never really a factor. Jumps sharply up in trip and will be better suited…doubt he wins but can run first four.

13 Word Game (Bet Now: $1.60) is a Sarah Rutten trained filly that resumes. Her lone run was on Valentines Day at Morphettville Parks when a real eye catcher from the back when fourth. Given a good break, looks to have trialled well and 1200m fresh, to me, signals intent.

9 Kayla Kruzen (Bet Now: $7.50) is knocking on the door for Matty Seyers. She ran second over this track/distance last start, sitting just off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there. Busting to win and this looks a maiden well within reach. Key chance.

11 Loseyatoetoe (Bet Now: $6.00) ran fourth in the same maiden that Kayla Kruzen ran second in. This girl was wide throughout but kept on and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat. Think she’s going well enough to threaten these.

3 Like A Drifter (Bet Now: $3.10) has returned in beast mode it appears and it’s hard to get away from him. 2/2 this time in, each win in dominant fashion and has put a gap on his rivals. Good test here but confident he can measure up.

8 Good Expectations (Bet Now: $26.00) commands respect for Matty Seyers after a win over 1200m at Murray Bridge, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive performance. Good test here against likely types but she is progressive and heading in the right direction.

9 Norheim (Bet Now: $13.00) steps up to 1100m after a first up maiden win over 1000m here, sitting near the speed and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and score. Maps ideally, he should be around the mark.

2 Dual Pressure (Bet Now: $18.00) looks a good each way gamble for mine. He resumed four weeks ago in the John Hawkes where he got back off speed and failed to come on. Outclassed there but does appear to be very well suited in a race like this so each way, he’s the one for me.

8 I Am Velvet (Bet Now: $5.50) was an impressive winner a fortnight back at Morphettville, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Her confidence is up, she can certainly go on with it.

4 Snoopy Now (Bet Now: $18.00) is a ripper that resumes. His last run came in the early part of the Autumn when a solid fourth in the Strathalbyn Cup. 1200m is short of his best but he’s tough and will keep chipping away.

6 Lario (Bet Now: $6.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. He has won two on the bounce, the latest at Seymour when leading throughout and had enough in hand to fend them off and score. Good racing style, he’ll take running down.

11 Starts Now (Bet Now: $8.00) should just about be at peak fitness. He ran a few weeks ago at Morphettville when just off speed and seemingly had his chance when fourth. Tough campaigner that should be around the mark.

8 Stirrup Cup (Bet Now: $10.00) is capable. He got too far back at Morphettville last start, getting back to near last and failed to come on. If he brings his best, he can certainly give this a race an almighty shake.

3 Grand Host (Bet Now: $7.00) is a Matty Seyers trained gelding that resumes. He loves the short course and loves racing at Murray Bridge so he has a bit in his corner to say he runs well. Hopefully the market agrees.

1 Streetcar Fury (Bet Now: $1.85) clearly appeals after racing in the John Hawkes when leading and he gave a strong kick but just tired at the end. Drops back to 900m and back to 64 grade from Stakes company…gee it reads well. Just think he’s on the short side re betting.

5 Mesrour (Bet Now: $11.00) is a Richards/Moyle trained gelding that resumes. He promised a fair bit early on in his career but hasn’t quite on with it since. That said, he’ll be strong at the end here and can sprint well fresh.

6 Smother (Bet Now: $6.50) is two weeks between runs for Michael Hickmott after racing over 1800m at Morphettville when off speed and kept finding the line in defeat behind Peta’s Heart. Has home track advantage and strikes a very winnable race.

9 Flash Alice (Bet Now: $9.00) ran over the mile here a couple of weeks ago when near the speed throughout and she was there to win I thought but just whacked in the run to the line when third. Like the rise in trip for her and I think she’ll be more effective with a more patient steer.

4 Lomax (Bet Now: $7.00) steps up to 1800m after racing over the mile at Morphettville when back near last in the run and failed to come on behind Super Lad. Hard fit now, rising in trip, I think he’s in with a shout.

12 Blanc Visage (Bet Now: $14.00) each way for me. Team Blanch trained mare that has been freshened up since March 28 at Morphettville when off speed and worked home okay but seemingly had her chance. Like that she has been freshened up and a tick over jumpout was sharp. Likely gets back off speed and will launch late.

5 Hypernova (Bet Now: $6.50) is flying I think. Totally forgiving of his last start because I think the track was too wet for him. Firmer deck this time around, I think he can run a much improved race at odds and can win.

4 Howl (Bet Now: $61.00) is a Tracy Cox trained gelding that resumes. He is a short course type that gets back and charges late. His better days are likely behind him but he still maintains a healthy zest for racing and has trialled well. Knockout hope.

12 Tropical House (Bet Now: $4.50) is the winner I feel. I said that when she raced at Morphettville last start and after getting the suck run in behind, yeah, she was plain late. But she was second up off an eye catching return. Third up bounce back is definitely on the cards.

4 Big Brute (Bet Now: $9.50) is on the seven day back up after racing over 1300m last Saturday at Morphettville Parks when near the speed and tried hard but had to settle for a narrow second. Like him on the bigger track and gets an in form Campbell Rawiller to steer.

11 Headphones (Bet Now: $41.00) absolutely thrives at this track/distance and with that in mind, she’s an each way bet. Last run was over 1350m at Strathalbyn when ridden with intent to land on speed and she tried hard but just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Global Turn. More patient steer, back to where she races best, she’ll only run well.
