7 Bur Dubai (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should love the rise to 2500m. He ran over 2000m at Flemington three weeks ago when getting the suck run in transit just off the speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through but that said, the winner Revelare looks a very good stayer on the up, so that form reads well, and the rise to 2500m for Bur Dubai is perfect.

6 Steel Run (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the one to beat. He resumed over 2000m three weeks ago at Flemington where he got off speed and worked home very well without threatening behind a good horse, Revelare. Might want one more, but he does have a touch of class on his side and off that return, has to be given serious respect.

4 Through Irish Eyes (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Revelare race from three weeks back at Flemington where he just found them a bit sharp and was never a factor when down the track. Kept up to the mark with a jumps trial and the rise in trip, he can threaten.

1 Chergui (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should take this out, all things being equal. He ran last Saturday in The Showdown when badly held up before eventually getting clear and savaged the line late to finish a close up third. Massive drop in depth for mine and provided the back up is fine, he wins.

6 Pure Passion (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1200m and takes beating for Moody/Coleman off the back of racing over 1000m at Flemington two weeks ago when off speed and worked home with purpose behind Military Tycoon. Like her up in trip and the depth here is nowhere near as deep.

2 Prestige Forever (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since debuting over 1000m at Flemington when near the speed and looked to be there to threaten but he just couldn’t quite get there, but the winner, Shining Smile, is one of the better short course juveniles in the country. If the 1200m is fine, he can win.

13 Top Calibre (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a good horse and can bounce back into the winners list after resuming down the straight a few weeks ago at Flemington. He was near the speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through when narrowly beaten by Pivot City. He’ll take good improvement off that and back to a bending track, he can bounce back.

4 Intrepid Eagle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a model of consistency and should be around the mark. He ran over this trck/distance last time when getting the suck run in transit before angling clear and kept finding the line in defeat behind Boston Rocks. Lands in a plum spot and is a key threat.

6 Elouyou (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given another look. I was quite keen on him three weeks back at Flemington when resuming but he didn’t really fire and was a bit on the plain side late in the piece behind Pivot City. His best is clearly good enough so back to a bending track, he can improve.

I will take a chance with 13 Sun God (Bet Now:  $SP.00). UK stayer that makes his Australian debut for Chris Waller, purchased I dare say with the Spring in mind. He will be better at 2400m+ but his jumpout work has been good and his UK form does read quite well.

1 Verdad… (Bet Now:  $SP.00) if you had faith, you were rewarded last start at Flemington. He got the beaut run in transit and was trucking before being clicked up, found and was strong to the line in winning. He has a good record at the track, kind map, off a win…he’s hard to beat.

3 Sunsets (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Busuttin/Young trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Nov 16 at Caulfield when close up in defeat over 2000m. He’ll be strong late and his jumpout work has been quite good.

I think the each way play here is 3 Golden Crusader (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for Price/Kent. He resumed at Flemington behind Verdad when wide, doing work in the run and just felt the pinch late. Good second up record, up in trip, better run in transit, he takes beating.

7 Ziryab (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat. Attempted to lead throughout at Flemington last time in the Verdad race but couldn’t see it through, just feeling the pinch late. 2040m is the query but with front end control, he’ll take beating.

6 Basilinna (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Team Browne trained mare that resumes after failing to fire in the Spring after a promising Autumn. She has looked quite strong in jumpout work but did appear to crab around here earlier this week. Not sure she wins, but is a first four contender.

I thought 4 Imperialist (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was the run of the race in the Autumn Classic and with that in mind, is on top. He got back off the moderate speed and chased with purpose late when third. He’s racing like 2040m suits and a tick over jumpout at Flemington was quite good.

8 Emphasize (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable of an improved showing off the back of his Autumn Classic effort when leading and just couldn’t quite finish the race off when fourth to Shanwah. I think back up in trip suits and with a bunny to chase, he can bounce back.

1 Red Aces (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise in trip after racing in the Australian Guineas where he just found the mile a bit too sharp and was far from disgraced in defeat behind Feroce. Up in trip, has a touch of class on his side, he can threaten.

4 Sneaky Sunrise (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks ready to win. Thought she did more than enough fresh in the Vanity behind Cilicap before going to the Kewney where she was held by Treasurethe Moment but stayed on really well in defeat to finish third. She has class/quality, can settle closer in the run…the one to beat.

I am a big, big fan of 3 Gala Queen (Bet Now:  $SP.00) but whether she is looking for the paddock now, not sure. She was a super winner of the Morphettville Guineas on Adelaide Cup Day, beating home a good horse in Sabaj with a gap to third. Back to her own sex, she appeals.

5 Hurry Curry (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Danny O’Brien trained filly that resumes. She hasn’t raced since the VRC Oaks when a game third to Treasurethe Moment where she had her chance but she was far from disgraced in defeat. She’ll be better over further but will be strong late.

4 Molly Bloom (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given another chance. Forget she went around in the Matron where she got back in what was pretty much a barrier trial in the end, working home with real purpose without threatening behind Jennilala. If within range, she’ll take running down.

I think you have to clearly respect 5 Grinzinger Belle (Bet Now:  $SP.00). She resumed in the Mannerism four weeks ago at Caulfield when going very hard in front into the wind and that burn just told late, but she stayed on and was far from disgraced behidn Coeur Volante. She’ll lead, roll and take running down.

7 Wishlor Lass (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is nearing D-Day. I thought she was an each way moral in the Matron and after comfortably lobbing outside the speed, I thought it was race over. But, she was very plain late so the jury is out but third up, hard fit…last chance territory.

I am going each way with 4 Schwarz (Bet Now:  $SP.00). I just think 1400m isn’t his go, at this level, whereas 1200m against the second string sprinters could well be his go. They are desperate for a G1 and they get a chance here because he’ll lead, and I think comfortably, and his trial work in Sydney has been excellent. He’ll give an almighty sight for mine.

1 Jimmysstar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has now proven himself as a Group l horse and is hard to beat after returning with an absolute bang in the Oakleigh Plate, giving them a start and a beating in an electric performance. If he holds that form, he’s clearly going to take beating.

8 Reserve Bank (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one for exotics. He resumed in the Inglis Sprint down the straight at Flemington when off speed and kept chasing in a solid enough return behind El Morzillo. Not sure he has the class/quality to win but can run first four.

The weights say the tables will be turned, but I think 8 Scillato (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an absolute rocket. Treasurethe Moment is the best 3YO filly in Victoria. Next best is this girl. Unbeaten and she looked lost at Flemington last time but still managed to win and was strong through the line. Start four first prep…so there is the query that the end of prep run is on the cards, but the stable are a patient stable and wouldn’t bust her.

7 Clean Energy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Scillato race from three weeks back at Flemington where she was first up. She was near the speed and tried hard but just lacked the change up speed to get there late in the piece. Fitter, bending track, she is a key threat.

3 Amelita (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Chris Waller trained filly that was tested against Lady Shenandoah in Sydney and ran okay but just didn’t quite measure up. She will love the drop in overall depth, strong late and has a kind map to use.

4 Crosshaven (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a fab each way gamble for mine. Team Hayes trained gelding that resumes, having not raced since Champions Day when down the track behind Rey Magnerio. He has won at the track/distance previously and his jumpout work has been great to my eye.

3 Hedged (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs for Price/Kent, having not raced since the Magic Millions Snippets where he seemed to have his chance but was far from disgraced in defeat behind Zarastro. Given the mini break and his recent jumpout was sharp. One of the hardest to beat.

9 Marble Nine (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found positive form…can he go on with it? He ran third down the straight two weeks back at Flemington when near the speed and tried hard but just felt the pinch late behind Mytemptation. On speed racing style, he appeals as a knockout chance.

NEXT BEST: Rave Ten Number 8 Scillato

LONG SHOT: Race Eleven Number 4 Crosshaven
