Ten races have been set down for Doomben on Saturday. Weather is fine, track is soft (6) and the rail is out two metres for the entire circuit.

6 Martist (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was my early pick for the Magic Millions in the Spring but Tony Gollan spelled. He’s come back and loved the way he moved in a trial last week here. I think he’s well above average and confident he can make a winning debut.

1 Doubtwilly (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to town off the back of a debut win over this trip on the home deck at the Sunny Coast, leading throughout and gave nothing else a look in to win quite impressively. Looks the leader and will be hard to get past.

4 Girmay (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Jack Bruce trained colt that debuts. He trialled last Tuesday here, winning the trial narrowly and seemingly went about his business quite nicely, so keen to see how he goes, and watch the market.

4 Akkadian Emperor (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should love the rise to 2200m. He ran over 1800m three weeks back at Eagle Farm where he was a bit one paced when asked but he kept finding the line and was a definite pass mark in defeat. Hard fit, 2200m, drops in overall depth, he’ll do me.

1 Prince Levi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for William Kropp and should take beating here after a win two weeks ago over 2000m here. He got the beaut run in transit before slicing his way through the field and knuckled down with purpose late to score. Extra 200m is fine, his confidence is up, he can go on with it.

5 Kureder (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to Brisbane after racing in Sydney, his latest run being over 2400m at Warwick Farm where he stayed on in defeat when fourth but was quite one paced when asked for the effort. He’s racing well and commands some level of respect.

2 Berezka (Bet Now:  $SP.00) appeals for Ciaron Maher after a placing over 1200m at Canterbury last time. She got into a decent spot just off speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite get there when third to Monte Kate. Hard fit, good record in this part of the world, she clearly takes beating.

9 The Stars (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win, as seen two weeks ago here over 1200m when off speed and worked home well enough but did seemingly have her chance behind Dominant Darcy when third. Like her up to 1350m and strikes a winnable race.

11 Till Dusk (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since resuming over 1200m here. She got into a decent spot in transit and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job behind Time Of My Life. Fitter, up in trip, tick over trial was good, she appeals.

11 The Wheelbarrow (Bet Now:  $SP.00) won impressively in a similar quality of race last time out at Doomben. He looks a progressive horse who should improve from that run and he gets a lot of favours here with a good barrier. I think he will sit a bit closer in this and won’t need to hope for luck and be too good for them.

1 Headhunter (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was pretty good in defeat three weeks back at this trip at Eagle Farm. He got off speed and while he was never a winning threat, he kept chasing and was pretty good in defeat. Racing well and can take this out for sure.

7 Monastery (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to the mile after racing last Friday night at the Sunny Coast when doing work from the wide gate and just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Nightcapped. Think with a more patient run in transit, he’s dangerous at odds.

1 Fabulantes (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Rob Heathcoate and is one of the hardest to beat after a track/distance win two weeks ago, giving them a start and a beating, producing a brilliant finale nearer the inside to nail them late and score. He’s flying this horse and is top seed for mine.

9 Capital Chord (Bet Now:  $SP.00) debuted with an absolute bang over 1200m here at the midweeks, giving them a start and an absolute beating in such an impressive effort. Think the extra 150m is fine, and I say she’s one of the leading contenders.

7 I’lltellyoutonight (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a knockout hope. Eye catching effort behind Fabulantes, getting back to near last in the run and while she was never a winning threat, she was pretty good late. If she can settle closer and be within range, she can threaten at odds.

Think it’s a case of good luck beating 12 Time Of My Life (Bet Now:  $SP.00), a dominant last start winner over 1200m here, leading throughout and she gave nothing else a look in to win quite impressively. 1350m should be fine, right down in the weights, she’ll lead and I think just keep running.

3 Carravilla (Bet Now:  $SP.00) seems the straight bat play. She ran over 1400m at Eagle Farm just over three weeks ago. She landed in a decent spot on speed and tried hard but had to settle for a second to Last Command. Good racing style and being 1/1 at the track/distance, she appeals here.

5 Creativity Miss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was pretty good in defeat two weeks back at this track/distance, getting back to near last in the run but worked home very well late behind Glass Of Rose. Likely spots them a start again but will be strong late and is a must for exotics.

12 Dominant Darcy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a pretty progressive mare for Tony Gollan that spanked them two weeks ago at this track/distance, leading throughout and she gave nothing else a look in. Rising to Class 3 from Class 1, but confident she can measure up here.

14 Scripted (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been given a mini freshen up since the Magic Millions F&M where she got too far back and was decent late without really threatening. Flying this girl and back to this level, she clearly appeals as a key chance.

3 Astapor (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came behind Yoyo Yeezy at Eagle Farm. He got into a decent spot in transit and was there to threaten but first up, condition just gave way. Fitter, his best is clearly good enough.

7 Boom Shot (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was pretty good in defeat at this track/distance a fortnight back, getting a fair way out of his ground and was good late in the piece behind Make A Call. If he is able to settle closer in the run, he’ll take holding out for sure.

15 Barrelling (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing really well at present for Tony Gollan. He ran over this track/distance last time where he got into a decent spot just off speed and tried hard but just lacked the quality to go with them late. Maps ideally and strikes a winnable race.

2 Kodiak (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1350m after racing three weeks back over 1200m at Eagle Farm when just off speed and battled late in the piece behind Press Link, who won again last Saturday to frank the form. The rise in trip I find interesting, I won’t dismiss.

15 Pierata’s Gem (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to the mile after racing two weeks back over 1350m here. She got off speed and worked home quite well late in the piece behind Glass Of Rose. Racing as if 1600m is okay and has a kind map in her corner.

7 Bengal Diamond (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was an impressive winner two weeks ago here, giving them a start and a beating with the light weight and attacked the line with purpose to score. She has that 1600m run/win under the belt, she takes beating.

10 Take A Picture (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing over 1400m at Eagle Farm where he was just fair late without threatening behind Battlefield. 1600m is okay and maps to get a suck run. One for exotics.

4 About To Explode (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Spirit Of Boom gelding that resumes for Tony Gollan. He is first up, having not raced since Oct 11 at this track/distance when producing an end of prep run behind He’s Heaven. Not a noted fresh horse and with just one soft trial under the belt…not sure re intent, betting will be the guide, but talent wise, he’s nearly top seed.

1 Fleetwood (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over 1000m at Eagle Farm when off speed and worked home with purpose but found a couple better, with Tiger Tie leading throughout and was too good. Fitter, can settle closer, takes beating against these.

3 Taltarni Fields (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been knocking on the door for quite some time to win a race and I think he has found a very winnable one today. He was a bit disappointing last time out where he weakened late in the race. He will go forward once again and I don’t think there will be as much pace on in this so should get a cheap sectional or two and give a good kick at good odds.
