2011 Victory Stakes day tips and selections

With persistent showers in Brisbane this week, the track is currently rated a Heavy 8. A few showers and a possible storm are predicted for Friday and Saturday which may result in a further downgrade.

Here’s hoping that won’t be the case as the Winter Carnival looms and the state of tracks will be very important for quality racing. It is important to know this is the 3rd meeting at Eagle Farm in a week and there tended to be a leader bias with the rail out last Monday.

This Saturday the rail will be out 2.5m from the 1000m to the 400m and in the true position for the remainder. Here are my selections for each race based on a slow-heavy track.

Race 1: 11, 3, 1, 7

Race 2: 10, 7, 5, 9

Race 3: 5, 6, 12, 8

Race 4: 4, 3, 2, 5

Race 5: 9, 4, 2, 8

Race 6: 7, 15, 17, 1

Race 7: 6, 1, 2, 5

Race 8: 5, 11, 14, 7

Best Bet: Levi’s Choice (Race 6 No. 7)

Next Best: Lucky Morna (Race 1 No. 11)

Best Value: Show a Lion Heart (Race 8 No. 5)
