Tomorrow’s headline race at Caulfield Racecourse is the 2010 Thousand Guineas, the race looks to be quite open although the Gai Waterhouse trained More Strawberries has been heavily backed to take out te $500,000 race being backed from $4.20 into $3.80.
With the release of the field and barriers yesterday More Strawberries was listed as the opening favourite after drawing barrier 3, the More Than Ready filly looks to be very hard to beat if the track plays like it did on Saturday with a huge bias to horses on the speed. We have included the favourite into our selections although at her current quote we think she is too short in what looks to be an open field.
Brazilian Pulse is a very promising up and coming filly with only 3 runs to her name in which she has won 2 and placed with her last run a 2nd in the Group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes behind Sistine Angel and should improve from the run.
Ringa Ringa Rosie was a bit disappointing in the Edward Manifold Stakes where she placed 4th although should be fitter for the race and we think can improve if she can get a decent run from barrier 15. She looks to be great each way value seeings as she was at one stage the favourite for the race.
Our top bet for the race is Jesse’s Girl, she will be coming off a short backup having run on Saturday in which she finished 2nd in the Thoroughbred Club Stakes behind Solar Charged in what was a very leader biased track. The connections have paid up for the race which makes us think there is confidence that she will run a good race at her current quote of $26 we feel she is a good each way bet.
