20/9/2025 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Gold Coast, Pink Ribbon Cup day

7 Make A Call (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is somewhat of an unknown at the trip but he’s racing as if he will appreciate it. He ran over the mile two weeks ago at Doomben when off speed and was held up at times but got clear and worked home strongly, just missing out on the win when second to Exceed Speed. Like him up to 1800m and strikes a winnable race.

6 Moon Sweeper (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran second a few weeks back at Eagle Farm over 1800m. I thought he was there to win after getting a sweet sit in transit and tried hard but had to settle for a narrow second to Ready For The Trip. Has the 1800m run under the belt, he appeals.

8 Delrico (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door. Chris Waller trained gelding that ran at Doomben two weeks back. He got into a decent spot in transit and loomed to win but just whacked in the run to the line. He’s racing as if 1800m will suit and this isn’t an overly deep contest.

1 Kettle Hill (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a leading chance. Ciaron Maher trained gelding that ran over 2000m at Doomben a fortnight back when off speed and kept chasing without really threatening behind impressive winner Soul Of Spain. That form does read well for this and will be even more hard to beat with a more positive steer.

2 Sporting Chance (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had several runs at the mile and is racing like more ground will suit, which he gets here. Latest run was at Doomben a fortnight back when near the speed and battled away really well in defeat behind Yet He Moves. Like him up in trip, he’s one of the leading contenders.

3 Menazzi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has won at 1800m previously and has a good racing style. He attempted to lead throughout two weeks back at Doomben and gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through when second to Yet He Moves. If he gets front end control, he takes beating.

4 Dushenka (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one of the more fascinating runners on the card. Stuart Kendrick trained filly that won like a rocket on debut before going to the Reisling when down the track behind a star, Tempted. Given a good break, trialled up super and 1400m fresh signals clear intent.

1 Wisnierska (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1400m after racing over 1200m at Doomben a fortnight back. She got off speed and was a bit one paced when the sprint went on but she picked up and was pretty good late in the piece. Like her up in trip and strikes a winnable race.

2 Profoundly (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came behind Impervious a few weeks back. The race shape wasn’t to her liking but she kept finding the line and was pretty good late in the piece. Fitter, and hopefully with a more genuine tempo, she appeals.

11 Akkadian Emperor (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win for Team Archibald and I think he gets a great chance here. He ran second to Piggyback two weeks ago at Doomben, getting off speed and was held up at times before getting clear air and worked home very well late. He’ll love 2400m and if within range, I think his finale will be too much.

12 Artful Girl (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to catch at times but will be strong late. She ran behind Piggyback a fortnight back and was solid late from the back but was never really threatening behind the Ciaron Maher mare. The rise to 2400m should be fine and is a threat for sure.

1 Tapildoodledo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs since racing over 2200m at Eagle Farm when just off the speed and he tried hard but just lacked the change up speed to go with them late in the piece when a close up fourth to The Right Way. Not sure he is sharp enough to win but can run top four.

11 Voracious (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has good upside to come and should appreciate a rise to 1400m after resuming over 1350m at Doomben where he just looked in need of the run and was far from disgraced in defeat behind Lady Lucifer. Better set up here, he’s dangerous.

15 Lady Lucifer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to beat for David Vandyke after a dominant win a fortnight back at Doomben when leading throughout and she gave nothing else a look in, winning impressively. Off that effort, she commands respect against these.

14 Downey (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door. Mark Currie trained gelding that ran three weeks back at Toowoomba when off speed and kept chasing but couldn’t quite get there when a narrow second. 1400m should be fine and he gets weight relief.

2 Weigall Tiger (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beauty for Kelly Schweida. He trialled up like Black Caviar prior to racing two weeks ago at Doomben where he lobbed outside the speed and was absolutely bolting before being clicked up and away he went to win and win well. Good racing style, he’ll take running down.

7 Caspernova (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing well but is finding it very hard to win. He ran a fortnight back at Doomben where he got the right run in transit and was there to threaten but just couldn’t reel in impressive winner Weigall Tiger. Knocking on the door and commands respect I say.

4 Gumdrops (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. Chris Waller trained mare that resumes, having not raced since July 5 at the Sunny Coast in the Glasshouse when far from disgraced in defeat behind Fortunate Kiss. Good mare on the fresh side and a recent Gold Coast trial was more than encouraging.

3 Amur (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat for Tony Gollan. He was on speed three weeks ago at Eagle Farm and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when second to the very much in form Bullion Boy. Good racing style, he’ll take running down.

5 Space Tracker (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should like the rise to 1400m after resuming over 1200m two weeks back at Doomben. He got into a decent spot behind the speed and tried hard but first up, condition just gave way late in the piece. Good upside to come, I am not dismissing him.

2 Let’srollthedice (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a stablemate of Amur that resumes. He was formerly with Danny O’Brien and was a promising juvenile but his form tapered off. Now with Gollan, two trials under the belt, watch betting and see what it does.

14 Surprise Honey (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to town after a midweek win at Ipswich where she lookd a good thing on paper and despite a few nervous moments in the run, she found and class kicked in to win and win well. Good racing style, confidence is up, she commands respect.

7 Razors (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1200m for Jack Bruce after racing over the mile four weeks ago when on speed and did cop some sort of heat but that said, he was plain late. Freshened up and back in trip, I say he’s dangerous.

11 Scud (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Paul Shailer trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since June 14 over 1400m here when a solid fourth to Cosmic Beauty in a race which has turned out to be a decent form reference. Good fresh record and has trialled up really well for the return.

9 Simbu (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a leading contender. He ran over 1000m a few weeks back at Eagle Farm when off speed and kept chasing in the straight but couldn’t quite get there when third to Party For Two. If he is within range on the turn, he has the finale to win.

4 Frilled (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Matty Smith trained mare that is four weeks between runs since racing over this trip at Eagle Farm in the Party For Two race mentioned above when off speed and chased hard in the straight but had to settle for a second. Tick over trial was sharp, leading chance.

8 Flaming Conquest (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over this trip at Eagle Farm. She attempted to lead throughout and gave a decent kick from the front but just felt the pinch late. Jump/run type, and does have a good record here, so for exotics, she can be entertained.

BEST BET: Race Six Number 2 Weigall Tiger

NEXT BEST: Race Four Number 11 Akkadian Emperor

LONG SHOT: Race Two Number 1 Kettle Hill
