2/11/2024 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Morphettville

Nine races will be run and won at Morphettville this Saturday. Weather is fine, track is good (4) and the rail is out nine metres for the entire circuit.

1 Cyclone Harmony (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning in a tricky opener. Peter Gelagotis trained gelding that was knocking on the door to win and it came at Bairnsdale last time where he was too good for an average 58 field. This isn’t an overly deep contest, he gets in well after the claim and will be strong late.

2 Dolcemente (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after a track/distance win last Saturday. She looked gone at several stages in the straight but she found under pressure to fend them off and win. Hard fit now, off a win, can press forward, one of the leading contenders.

3 Savsonic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing in consistent form for Stephen Theodore and has to be respected. She ran second to Dolcemente last Saturday in the race mentioned above, trying her guts out but couldn’t quite get there. Racing well and is one of the key chances.

2 Top Calibre (Bet Now:  $SP.00) picks himself I feel. He did a stack of work with Chris Waller without running but debuted for Alex Rae at Bairnsdale where the market push late was telling and he made a mess of them in a sharp display at start one. Finds a very thin metro race here IMO so keen to be in his corner.

5 Limited Risk (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs for David Jolly since racing over 1200m here where he got back off the speed and came with a well timed run but couldn’t quite get there when a narrow second to Artful Tawny. The break between runs I find interesting and this looks a very winnable race if the fav is off its game.

1 Kermantic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Brenton Jones trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Feb 7 at Eagle Farm when trained by Matty Dunn and was a bit on the plain side behind Disputed River. Trialled well and has a touch of quality, so watch the market.

5 Hasseltoff (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise in trip after resuming over 1400m three weeks ago at Murray Bridge where he just looked in need of the run and that’s how it panned out but he didn’t disgrace himself in defeat behind Angland. Much better suited here, good upside, he rates highly.

7 Merchant Boss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Travis Doudle and rates highly off the back of a third here two weeks ago behind France’s Boy. He got back in the run but tracked into the race before coming wider and was good late in the piece when third to France’s Boy. Hard to beat if he can settle closer in the run.

6 Aitch D’Amico (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is two weeks between runs since racing over the mile here where he got off the speed and seemed to move well enough but when asked for the effort, he just whacked to the line late in the piece behind France’s Boy. Not sure he is good enough to win but can run top four.

2 Lomax (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will be spotting them a start but should be strong late, as seen two weeks ago over this track/distance when back near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he worked home with purpose when fourth to France’s Boy. If he’s within range, he can launch over the top.

6 Thermodynamic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) puts himself on speed and will take running down, which is what he did first up on the Parks track when leading throughout and he gave nothing else a look in to win quite impressively in a strong return. You’d think with natural improvement, he takes beating.

5 Imposing Suspect (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Peter Hardacre trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since June 29 on the Parks track when looking a tired horse and wasn’t 100% happy on the wet ground. First up at the mile signals some form of intent IMO so watch the market.

1 Pure Aqua (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned well and should appreciate a rise to 1100m. She resumed three weeks ago over 1000m at Murray Bridge where she was chasing from the outset but she kept finding the line and was quite good in defeat when third to Truly Elsa. Fitter and up in trip, I think she only runs well.

2 Dancing Storm (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Team Jolly trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since June 29 on the Parks track when struggling on the heavy ground in the Oaklands behind Femminile. Trialled up well for the return and overall, this isn’t a deep contest, so watch the market.

6 Dyer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given another look for Michael Hickmott. He resumed behind Truly Elsa three weeks back when ridden with intent to land on speed and I just think that brought about his undoing late in the piece, tiring to finish down the track. His best is more than good enough to take this out.

10 Beauty Bound (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door. Can make a case she should have won here a fortnight back but unfortunately for her supporters, she just got too far back in the run but she rocketed to the line late, just missing out on the win. If she can be within range, she has the finale to beat them.

11 Sharendiptity (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran fourth here two weeks back and her run was enormous. Four and five wide no cover throughout, she was entitled to run last but she kept on and only got tired very late in the piece. If that run hasn’t busted her, she can take this out for sure.

12 Global Turn (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Phillip Stokes trained mare that resumes. This mare is first up, having not raced since July 17 at Gawler when down the track and looking a tired horse. Given a good break and has trialled well for the return, so watch the market.

6 Big Story (Bet Now:  $SP.00) look ready to win. He ran two weeks ago behind Tippa here where he got back to near last in the run but was quite good late in the piece when third. He’s got good upside to come, can settle closer in the run and still be effective at the end.

3 Yuri Royale (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key chance for Team Jolly. He ran a fortnight back over this track/distance when wide no cover before pressing forward down the side and into the turn to be near the front and he was brave but he couldn’t quite see it through behind Tippa. With a more economical run in transit, he takes beating.

7 Cullen Skink (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win for Clarken/O’Shea. He ran second to France’s Boy a fortnight back. He landed near the speed and I thought presented to win when asked but just couldn’t quite finish the job, missing out on the win. Lands in a good spot again and looks hard to beat.

5 The Great Baby (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1100m. He resumed behind Winning Revolution a fortnight back where he got off the speed but tracked up nicely before angling clear and drove late but just missed out on the win. Better set up here, fitter, he’s a leading contender.

6 Winning Revolution (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beauty for Jon O’Connor and the way he’s racing, he has to be rated as one of the hardest to beat after winning two weeks ago here, sitting wide no cover over 1050m but was trucking and found late to fend them off and win. Been up a while but is holding the form super and if that is maintained here, he takes beating.

4 Sixteen Reasons (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given another chance after her effort behind Winning Revolution two weeks ago. She just got way too far out of her ground and while she was never threatening, she found the line with purpose. If she can settle closer and be within range, she’ll be hard to hold out.

11 Runaway Belle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the each way bet for me in the get out. Phillip Stokes trained mare that resumes, having not raced since June 1 at Morphettville when getting the suck run in behind but failed to finish the race off behind Hajra. Given a good break, trialled well and maps ideally.

4 Oakland Raider (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will put himself on speed and look to give his all. He did a bit too much work on speed last time on the Parks track and that early burn brought him undone late in the piece when fourth to Hallstatt. Better run in transit, his best is more than good enough.

13 Aztec Dancer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous with her best. She ran a fortnight back over 1100m here when wide with cover before peeling wider and she tried her guts out but just couldn’t quite get the win behind Vintage Star. That was her first run in four weeks so with room for improvement, she’s right in the mix.

LONG SHOT: Race Nine Number 11 Runaway Belle
