A monster ten event program will be run and won at Randwick on Saturday, highlighted by The Everest (1200m). The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (12:30) Reginald Allen Quality 1400m
5 Samarelle (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs for O’Shea/Charlton, having not raced since Aug 30 over 1400m at Kembla when off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Greygenta. Tick over trial was quite good and she should be strong at the end of 1400m.
3 Snitzel Dancer (Bet Now: $SP.00) commands respect for Ryan/Alexiou after a second at the midweeks at Rosehill when taking on the older horses and was very good late when second to impressive winner Rapbidash. Back to her own age/sex, she’s a leading contender.
10 Lighthouse Lass (Bet Now: $SP.00) was well and truly thrown in the deep end in the Flight Stakes and while she was outclassed, she didn’t disgrace herself in defeat albeit down the track. Better suited at this level, I think she is a sleeper at odds.
Race 2. (13:05) St Leger Stakes 2600m
6 More Felons (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks back on track. Sneaky good run in the Kingston Town behind stablemate Birdman before going to The Metropolitan where he was somewhat unlucky but worked home nicely late when fourth to Royal Supremacy. He has the class to take this out.
8 Wyclif (Bet Now: $SP.00) is sneaky flying for Ciaron Maher. Didn’t mind his effort against the pattern and race shape two back in the Newcastle Cup before going to The Metropolitan where he got back and held up but was good late when clear. 2600m should be fine and has that sense of timing.
11 Flying Bandit (Bet Now: $SP.00) has to be given another look for Kerry Parker. I was keen on him running well in The Metropolitan but nothing went right for him in what was a messy race. Prior efforts were sound, he has that 2400m run under the belt, I say he’s dangerous against these.
Race 3. (13:40) Big Dance Wild Card 1600m
He has an awful racing style but 5 Swiftfalcon (Bet Now: $SP.00) is teasing to blow a race away. He comes through the Epsom where he was one of the better runs of the beaten brigade, closing with purpose behind Autumn Glow. Bursting to win…just needs to jump clean.
2 Detonator Jack (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs since contesting the Cameron at Newcastle where he got back off speed and kept chasing without really threatening behind Headley Grange, who franked the form in the Alan Brown. He has the runs on the board to be respected.
9 Strait Acer (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes through the Perfumist race from two weeks back here. He got off speed and was never threatening, seemingly run off his legs behind the Bjorn Baker mare. His best is good enough to threaten so I am not dismissing him entirely.
Race 4. (14:15) Angst Stakes 1600m
I want to have something on 12 Polymnia (Bet Now: $SP.00). Ridden with intent first up, condition just gave way. She then ran behind Perfumist and was enormous given she was back, wide and spotted them too much start, but her late splits were excellent. If she can be within range, draw better, she’ll run a beauty.
10 Idle Flyer (Bet Now: $SP.00) is in a real purple patch for Matty Smith and is one of the hardest to beat. She ran two weeks ago at this track/distance when off speed and was held up at times before eventually getting clear and she kept finding the line in defeat when second to Perfumist. Racing really well at present and is one of the hardest to beat.
4 Verona Rose (Bet Now: $SP.00) will welcome the drop back to this grade after contesting the Epsom when thrown in the deep end and while held by Autumn Glow, I thought she was far from disgraced. Better suited at this level, I say she is quite dangerous against these.
Race 5. (14:50) The Kosciuszko 1200m
1 Front Page (Bet Now: $SP.00) is the champ of this race and he’ll look the winner for a long way I am sure. He hasn’t raced since the Stradbroke when leading and tired in the straight to finish down the track behind War Machine. Just one soft trial for the return but the stable knows how to get him ready for this race and has the great racing style.
11 Clear Thinking (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a class mare for Messara/Gavranich that resumes, having not raced since March 5 when close up in defeat in the Wenona Girl behind Commemorative. Given a good break with this race clearly in mind and her two trial wins under the belt has been electric. Hard to beat.
12 Without Parallel (Bet Now: $SP.00) can bounce back for Matty Dunn. She was four weeks between runs when racing at Rosehill last start where she just raced a touch on the flat side, perhaps in need of the run when fifth to Catch The Glory. She’s a first four threat I say.
Race 6. (15:25) Sydney Stakes 1200m
Gee I reckon 5 Coal Crusher (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a massive price here. His late splits were something else first up over 1000m in track record time, working home strongly behind Zealously. Fitter, 1200m, hoping he can settle on speed and if so, he’ll run very well at big odds.
15 Generosity (Bet Now: $SP.00) is flying for Chris Waller and is one of the hardest to beat after two runs in Everest lead ups, the latest being The Shorts when third to star mare and stablemate Joliestar. 1200m should be fine and back slightly in depth, she’s clearly hard to beat.
1 Iowna Merc (Bet Now: $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came in the Premiere. He was outclassed and being first up, it was always going to be an ask but he was far from disgraced in defeat behind Briasa. Better for that run and while I doubt he wins, he can pinch first four at a price.
Race 7. (16:15) The Everest 1200m
I have been hot on 4 Jimmysstar (Bet Now: $SP.00) for this race for several months and I won’t be dropping off. His run in the Premiere was incredible. He actually jumped well but from the wide gate, the handbrake went on and he pretty much went around for another barrier trial. If he can settle closer, like he has done before, or at least be within range 400m out, I think he will run one hell of a race.
9 Joliestar (Bet Now: $SP.00) is such a dynamic mare on the fresh side and the several weeks between runs, the set up is perfect for her. She resumed with an absolute bang in The Shorts, sitting three/four wide the trip but made a mess of them and was dominant. Tick over trial last week, she was trucking I thought and appears ready to rock and roll for this.
11 Magic Time (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a ripping mare who will be strong at the end of 1200m. She comes through the Manikato where I am not sure she was 100% happy around the tight track but she stayed on really well in defeat when third. Proven big time performer at Randwick, she’s a knockout hope.
Race 8. (16:50) Silver Eagle 1300m
Very interested in 9 Sabaj (Bet Now: $SP.00). Formerly with Team Jolly, he now finds himself with Price/Kent. Very promising horse when last in work albeit was raw and new to the caper. Given a good break, jumpout work has been elite…I say he’s here to rock and roll with eyes towards the big one.
3 Shangri La Spring (Bet Now: $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1300m after resuming two weeks back here over 1200m. He just found them a touch sharp but he kept on and was a definite pass mark in defeat behind Disneck. More positive ride, up in trip, he takes beating.
6 Rakkionen (Bet Now: $SP.00) is capable. He was ridden with intent a fortnight back here and tried hard but first up, I think condition just gave way late in the piece. I think with a more patient steer, a bunny to chase, he can take this out.
Race 9. (17:35) King Charles Iii Stakes 1609m
10 Fangirl (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a star mare, she loves the Randwick mile and loves dry ground. She has been freshened up since the 7 Stakes where she really knuckled down with purpose late to wear down Lindermann and nail him right on the peg, with that horse spanking them in the Hill Stakes last Saturday. Loved the way she went in a trial last week behind Linebacker, she’s the one to beat for me.
11 Pride Of Jenni… (Bet Now: $SP.00) I think it was the first time since she became a star that Bates rated her in front instead of going hard from a long way. In the Feehan, she took her time to get the front, had control, then from around the 800m she rolled and broke the hearts of her rivals. The form out of that race has been awful so the jury is out but with her racing style, she’s going to give you an almighty sight.
6 Pericles (Bet Now: $SP.00) is flying for Bjorn Baker. Sharp winner fresh in the Tramway before going to the Epsom where he had the back of Autumn Glow but didn’t have the required turn of foot to run her down but he was still good in defeat. Hard fit now, he’s a must for exotics.
Race 10. (18:10) HKJC World Pool Hcp 1400m
2 Lavish Empire (Bet Now: $SP.00) should take beating here for Peter Snowden after resuming with a narrow second here a few weeks ago when off speed before angling wider and let down hard late but just missed out on the win when second to Husk. Fitter, he’ll launch late, takes beating.
9 Green Shadows (Bet Now: $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1400m after resuming over 1200m here two weeks ago. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was a definite pass mark behind Disneck. Better set up here, he’s in the mix.
1 Wategos (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a threat with his best. He resumed behind stablemate Disneck two weeks back here. He got back off speed and just found them a bit sharp, never really threatening. Fitter and up in trip, more positive ride, he’s a threat at odds.
