A bumper ten race program has been set down for Randwick on Saturday where it is George Main Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (7) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

19 Hurn Court (Bet Now: $51.00 TOP ODDS) is worth a throw at the stumps here. He resumes for Brett Robb, having not raced since June 18 in a Highway at Rosehill where he got back to near last in the run and was very good late behind Don’tforgetmonica. 1000m is short of his best, but he looked sharp in a Gilgandra trial, and if they go silly in front, he’ll be strong late.

Is 1 Shalstar (Bet Now: $3.70 TOP ODDS) going to put her hand up for The Kosciuszko? Promising mare for Paul Messara that resumes, having not raced since June 15 when winning on the Kenso track here, beating a subsequent Saturday metro winner in Sneaky Paige. Scone trial win was strong and stable always have to be respected in town.

18 Robarge (Bet Now: $17.00 TOP ODDS) is sneaky flying for Terry Evans, a stable that is bursting to win a Highway. This mare trialled up really well prior to resuming a few weeks back in a Highway here and she had no luck in the straight when seemingly full of running. Should have gone close to winning, so off that effort, she commands respect.

6 Mahagoni (Bet Now: $2.45 TOP ODDS) has to rate quite highly here. David Payne trained gelding that ran at Rosehill three weeks ago where he was specked at a massive price and the plunge almost came off, just getting beat by Waterford, and we saw what that horse did last Saturday. If he runs up to that, he wins this.

15 Herb (Bet Now: $11.00 TOP ODDS) is a horse I have time for. I was in his corner three weeks ago over 1300m in a Rosehill Midway and I really liked the way he finished his race off in restricted room behind Noble Soldier. The query is the mile but off that effort, with a soft trip, he’ll be okay.

14 Loving Cilla (Bet Now: $31.00 TOP ODDS) looks to be in for a good prep. Trialled up nicely prior to resuming in a Midway at Rosehill three weeks back where she was back to near last in the run and never a factor, but she was strong at the end. She has enormous upside and the rise to 1600m is ideal. Hard to beat.

7 Grace And Harmony (Bet Now: $3.40 TOP ODDS) deserves another look. Like most, I was keen on her when she ran three weeks ago at Rosehill where she was tardy away but McEvoy gave her a dig in the ribs and in turn, she got keen and had nothing left for the straight. First up run was a beauty so I am not penning her.

4 Giannis (Bet Now: $10.00 TOP ODDS) would be a moral if the track is firm. Unfortunately the rain has dented my confidence with him but I think he’s flying. Paraded like he would need the run fresh and that’s how it panned out, but was very good late. He then went to the Murwillumbah Cup and ran a close up third after getting back. Hard fit now, ideal map…just wants this track to not get too wet.

8 Caboche (Bet Now: $5.00 TOP ODDS) is a key threat. He resumed behind stablemate Waterford three weeks back at Rosehill and despite bombing the start, he was very good without threatening in a strong return. If he jumps clean, he can certainly press forward and does have a touch of class on his side.

Gee he’s a nice horse 13 Arnold (Bet Now: $1.70 TOP ODDS). 2/2 this time in, winning fresh in a Kembla maiden before going to the Kenso where he looked a good thing on paper and despite sitting wide throughout, he made an absolute mess of them and was dominant. He looks potentially Stakes class so confident he can keep winning here.

3 Silent Impact (Bet Now: $6.00 TOP ODDS) deserves another chance. The track was too wet for him I think when he resumed here a fortnight back and he really struggled in the conditions behind Hell I Am. Like him up to 1400m and if the track is on the firmer side, you’ll see a different and much better horse.

8 Ita (Bet Now: $16.00 TOP ODDS) is a sneaky first four hope. She resumed in the Hell I Am race from two weeks back here and did find the inside section of the track, but she was warming to the task nicely late when third. Form around her from last prep wasn’t too bad and with good upside, she appeals.

5 Cross Talk (Bet Now: $2.80) will jump on the bunny and run a bold race. He is around a month between runs since attempting to lead throughout in the Rowley Mile at Hawkesbury and he gave a strong kick, but was outgunned late by Skyman. Tick over trial was good and with his racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.

Fascinating runner is 1 Top Ranked (Bet Now: $6.00), who resumes for Annabel Neasham. This bloke hasn’t raced since the Chipping Norton where he loomed to win but just ran out of puff late behind Verry Elleegant. He’s clearly had his issues but the engine under the hood is elite so keen to see how he goes.

9 Lackeen (Bet Now: $7.50) has found good positive form and is hard to beat against this lot. Lovely ride from Willow saw him win two back before racing at The Valley again a few weeks back where he tried hard but couldn’t get past noted swimmer Cyclone Sally. He’s racing well and on a firmer deck, he’ll take beating.

Have to be with 5 Zougotcha (Bet Now: $2.00). Was big odds when winning the Silver Shadow but she made her run in the inside section, the worst part, and she was strong late. The form was franked in the Furious and more so last Satruday via In Secret in the Run To The Rose. I think she’s clearly the one to beat.

1 North Star Lass (Bet Now: $3.80) will jump on the bunny and prove hard to beat. Pattern was in her corner two weeks ago in the Furious but even allowing for that, I loved the ticker she showed to fend off Willinga Beast to fight back and win. 1400m looks fine and with her racing style, she appeals.

6 Seven Veils (Bet Now: $19.00) is an improver at odds. She struggled on the bottomless in the Furious in a clear forgive run behind North Star Lass. Hopefully the track will be on the firmer side and third up, hard fit and up to 1400m, I think her best is good enough to be dangerous.

3 Anamoe (Bet Now: $1.60) is a star and I do think the Winx Stakes form can be trusted. Jury was out straight after the race but Benaud has run super since, Mo’Unga ran well in the Makybe Diva last Saturday…it’s all positive for him and with four weeks between runs, he’s ready to rock and roll, and make a significant statement for the Cox Plate.

10 Hinged (Bet Now: $11.00) looks right on track for Chris Waller. Resumed a few weeks ago in the Winx Stakes where she had the suck run behind the speed. She was flat footed when the sprint went on but picked up and was pretty good late behind a star in Anamoe. Fitter, she appeals.

4 Converge (Bet Now: $21.00) is getting towards D-Day. He was too bad to be true in the Tramway where he had the suck run behind the speed but when push came to shove, he found nothing and was terrible. I think he’s too good of a horse to pen off that run, so he deserves another look.

1 Nature Strip… (Bet Now: $2.15) is it just a case of turning up to collect first prize? The query with him was whether the trip to England would knock him about. The trial work, the gallop between races last Saturday, and those who have seen him will tell you he looks as good as he’s ever looked. He seems to be getting better with age and he should be winning.

2 Eduardo (Bet Now: $4.00) is one of the better spriners in Australia when it comes to 1000m/1100m races. He spanked them in the Concorde two weeks ago, defying a notable betting drift. I think his best chance of winning will be leading and rolling, trying to break the heart of Nature Strip.

Gee I’d love to see 6 Classique Legend (Bet Now: $15.00) run well. I still think that if he can get to anywhere near his best, he’ll be a worthy rival to Nature Strip. His run in The Everest behind Nature Strip last year, in hindsight, was out of this world. The tendon went early on, he was wide throughout and really, getting beat just over two lengths, it was a world class performance in defeat. He’ll need the run, but I’d love to see him find the line and confirm he’s on track.

9 Benaud (Bet Now: $3.10) has to be rated as the one to beat. His run in the Chelmsford was the run of the meeting by a mile. Wide throughout against the pattern and had the hide to keep finding the line when fourth to Knights Order. Up to 2000m, his two runs have been very good…surely it’s his race.

12 Surefire (Bet Now: $3.90) is a very smart animal and is crying out for a dry deck. Electric finale to win fresh at Rosehill before going to the Chelmsford where he was kept very safe despite the bias clearly going to be against him and gee he was excellent in defeat. Hard fit now and up to 2000m, he’ll take beating.

13 Aleas (Bet Now: $19.00) might want one more, but gee he’s a talented animal. He produced some of the better late splits of the meeting when resuming at Rosehill, closing off with real purpose behind Old Flame. Second up straight to 2000m is the query, but it is all upside with him.

14 I Am Lethal (Bet Now: $7.50) will do me in the get out. John O’Shea trained four year old that resumes. He had a two run prep when last in work, running in the Arrowfield Sprint fresh before going to the Fred Best where not much went his way behind Vilana. Trials leading in have been quite sharp and he’ll be strong late, especially down in the weights.

5 Maotai (Bet Now: $4.40) has done a good job this time in. Resumed with a somewhat arrogant win at Randwick before racing at Rosehill a few weeks ago where he was tardy to begin but was good late without threatening when second to Shades Of Rose. That form clearly reads well for this and should be fine at 1200m.

17 Cavalier Charles (Bet Now: $13.00) creates interest. Is he another that is going to put his hand up and secure one of the last spots for The Kosciuszko? He resumes for Matty Dale, having not raced since the Country Championships Final when down the track behind Another One. Sprints very well fresh and right down in the weights, he goes in the Quaddie for sure.
