4 Arnie’s Boy (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) has a good record at Pinjarra and off the return, he’ll be around the mark. Ashley Maley trained gelding that resumed two weeks ago over 1400m at Ascot where he got back off the speed and tried his guts out but couldn’t quite get there, beaten just under two lengths by The Spruiker. Likely drifts back but he will be quite strong at the end.

Danger

7 El Patron (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) has run well at the track/distance previously and his best is good enough to give this a shake. He ran over the mile at Belmont last time where he did work in the run to land on speed and that early burn just told late in the piece, tiring to finish fourth behind Prophet And Power. Think back in trip is ideal and with a more economical run in transit, he can threaten.

Long Shot

8 Gold Merits (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs for Jim Taylor since racing over 1500m at Ascot. She wasn’t able to use the inside gate to advantage and got shuffled back but found the line quite well in defeat when third. Drawn out and will likely be spotting them a start but she will be charging late.

Race 2. (16:04) Geisel Park Handicap (66+) 2000m

Back Me

1 Beats Of War (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is absolutely flying this time in and it’s hard to get away from him. He has won three on the bounce, the latest being over 2200m two weeks ago where he got a sweet sit in transit and finished best to win narrowly but impressively. Back in trip should be fine, maps ideally again…happy to be in his corner.

Danger

5 Ciscojoe (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is racing like he wants more ground and he gets it here. He ran a fortnight back over 1800m at Ascot. He got back in the run and did close his race off well enough but seemingly had his chance when beaten three lengths by Alaskan. Like him up in trip and the depth here, as a whole, isn’t overly deep.

Long Shot

9 Ex Sport Man (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is sneaky flying for Steve Wolfe and can take this out. His last couple of runs have come over 2200m at Ascot, the latest being a fortnight back where he got a mile out of his ground but I thought he was an eye catcher late in the piece behind Beats Of War, who is flying. If he’s within range, he has the finale to win.

Race 3. (16:39) Dance To Felix After The Last Handicap (1MW) 1200m

Back Me

9 Choixway (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) looks a smart three year old for Jim Taylor that resumes and I think he can kick the prep off with a win. He had a three run prep in the Winter/Spring to start his career, winning well on debut at Northam before a couple of runs at Belmont where he placed each time and was far from disgraced. Given a good break and has looked sharp in a couple of trials to get ready. Hard to beat from the front.

Danger

4 Comic Hero (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is racing really well for Simon Miller and commands respect. He doesn’t have the best of racing patterns but he can launch at them late, as seen two weeks ago at Ascot when settling near last in the run and launching late to finish best. He’ll be spotting them a start again but if he’s within range, he has the finale to win.

Long Shot

5 Shaka Zulu (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is a Rob Gulberti trained gelding who has an engine under the hood. This guy was met with market support when resuming two weeks back over 1100m at Ascot. He got a mile out of his ground but really liked the way he finished his race off when second to Indie Ruler. Will love the rise in trip and if he can settle closer, he’ll take holding out.

Race 4. (17:19) WA Platinum Fillies & Mares Classic (66+) 1300m

Back Me

1 Harmika (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) should take beating. Adam Durrant trains this mare, who ran over 1200m two weeks ago at Ascot…well, I say ran, but it was pretty much a barrier trial. Forgive and forget she went around in a very ugly watch behind Red Fifty Three. 1300m is a query, but drawn out, she’ll get clear air and time to wind into her work.

Danger

6 Madame Magic (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is flying this time in for Team Pearce and appears hard to beat against these. She resumed with a bang when winning over 1200m here. Raced here again next start when second to the in form Antique Miss before going to Ascot two weeks ago where she got back and worked home with purpose late when a narrow second to Comic Hero. That is three runs at 1200m on the bounce and is racing like she will eat up 1300m. Like her a lot.

Long Shot

9 Valsassina (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is one of the leading contenders. Simon Miller trained mare that ran over 1200m at Ascot where she wasn’t really fancied in betting but she got into a decent spot and found the line well enough in defeat when third to Comic Hero. Like her up in trip and stable loves to target these feature race days.

Race 5. (18:00) Pinjarra Classic Feb 25 Handicap (72+) 1000m

Back Me

7 Lexington City (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is a hard horse to catch at times but he has an engine under the hood for Simon Miller and third up from a spell, he should just about be at peak fitness. Midfield finish fresh behind Harmika before going to Ascot a few weeks ago where he was ridden with a sit and tried his guts out but had to settle for a narrow second to Rock This Town. Unknown down the straight but drawn the right part of the track, he’ll be hard to hold out I’d suggest.

Danger

8 Indie Ruler (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is flying for Luke Fernie and has to be rated as one of the hardest to beat. This guy has won two on the bounce to start the prep, both at Ascot, resuming with a sharp display over 1000m before stepping up to 1100m two weeks ago where he led throughout to win well. Good test here but hard to knock the way he’s racing.

Long Shot

6 Bayezid (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is a track/distance winner and has a good racing style. He is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday at Bunbury when on speed and he tried his guts out, eventually wearing down Ginnivan but just found one better in Ruler Rocket. He’ll land on the bunny and take running down.

Race 6. (18:42) Playing God @ Darling View 2024 Handicap (72+) 1400m

I think 5 Cash Away (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) will run really well here. Misty Bazeley trained gelding that ran over 1200m two weeks ago at Ascot where he got to last in the run and did hit a flat spot but he ran through the pain barrier and was very good late to and through the line. Paul Harvey on, hard fit, up in trip, he’ll be hard to beat.

Danger

9 Featherweight (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is knocking on the door. Dan Morton trained gelding that ran in the Red Fifty Three race from a fortnight back at Ascot. He got a fair way back and took a while to wind into his work but he was quite good late in the piece behind the Williams gelding. Third up, hard fit, racing like 1400m suits…he can win for sure.

Long Shot

6 Multinational (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is a son of Zoustar for Neville Parnham that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Aug 19 when producing a howler at Belmont and it did look an end of prep run. He is a horse who can sprint well fresh and is 1/1 at Pinjarra. His best is good enough to be dangerous.

Race 7. (19:17) Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy 1200m

Back Me

2 Stormchaser (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) looks to have a bit on these IMO. Luke Fernie trained three year old that ran two weeks ago in the Breeders Classic at Bunbury, his first run in a month, when near the speed and he fought on quite gamely in defeat. Just found one better in Petula. Better for the run under the belt, kind map, class/quality…he looks the one to beat, quite clearly.

Danger

11 Shooting Spirit (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Son of Shooting To Win for Simon Miller that had a two run Spring prep to start his career, both at Ascot. He produced an unbelievable finale to win on debut before being thrown in the deep end in the Fairetha where he pulled up with a slow recovery so forgive and forget. One quiet trial to get ready but off what he did in the Spring, he could well be exciting.

Long Shot

4 Bondi Bubbles (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. He has done his recent racing at Esperance where he has simply been too good for them, winning six on the bounce, which is a great feat, no matter what part of the world the racing is. This is a really good test for him but when you break down the race, outside the favourite, it’s thin overall, so he doesn’t need to be anything special to measure up IMO.

Race 8. (19:55) Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic 1200m

Back Me

I am struggling to find a horse that will run 1200m strongly. But, I have landed with 11 Define Beautiful (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) for Dan Morton. This girl resumes after two runs towards the end of last year, running fifth in the Crystal Slipper on debut before finishing with real purpose to win on Dec 9. Trialled up very well a few weeks ago over 1000m at Belmont, I can see her getting three wide cover and launching late.

Danger

8 Golden Vale (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00), potentially, has lengths on these. The only knock I have is 1200m. Both career starts/wins have come over 1000m where she has been in the A1 spot each time and duly saluted. Might have to do a bit of work this time around so that is why I think 1200m is a query, but ability wise, that alone might be enough to get her home.

Long Shot

2 Angels Impact (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is a talented juvenile that resumes after a two run Spring prep, debuting with a sharp win before getting back and closing nicely behind Golden Vale, who won again to frank the form. Trialled super at Belmont and maps to do no work in the run. Leading contender.

Race 9. (20:30) Pinjarra Cup March 24 Handicap (1MW) 1600m

Back Me

1 Snazzler (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is hard fit and in form for Jason Pateman. He ran last Wednesday at Belmont where he got into a lovely spot behind the speed before angling clear under Derrick and finished best to win narrowly but impressively. Not the best of records at Pinjarra but when you break down his runs, there has been merit. Maps ideally and strikes another winnable race.

Danger

2 Here For Cheques (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) has found winning form and he can certainly go on with it for Bernie Miller. That win came here a few weeks back where lobbed into a beaut spot just behind the speed before angling clear and in a driving finish, he was too good, just. Although this is harder, he comes off a win and commands respect.

Long Shot

4 Butterlea Lad (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) will appreciate a rise in trip. Too bad to be true when resuming two weeks back over 1400m at Ascot. He was back throughout and failed to do anything, finishing tailed off last behind The Spruiker. The depth here isn’t as deep this time around, he can pull out a run second up and his best is good enough.
