The Big6 available for punters in NSW on Wednesday is on races 2-7 at Canterbury. Read Adam Page’s $20 strategy.
Leg 1 – Another of these typical open juvenile races with several winning chances. Komodo stuck on gamely on debut and will love the rise in journey. Rapidus has the form having been narrowly beaten by Galah at Rosehill last start. If he brings that form here, look out. American Mistress looked the winner at the 300m last start but was outgunned late. She’ll be fitter and there is no stopping Chris Waller at the moment. One of those three should greet the judge.
Leg 2 – Around The Clock stuck on well when resuming at Canterbury. Sure to be fitter and looks a major player. Baabulu keeps on getting scratched!!! She has talent, but she just can’t seem to find the right race. That might change here if she runs. It will surprise me if one of these two don’t win.
Leg 3 – Suits Us looks awfully hard to hold out here. Was always niggled at by Cassidy last start but he kept finding and ran a credible third. Rise in distance looks perfect. Mestari creates plenty of interest here. On debut for leading Brisbane trainer Liam Birchley. Hasn’t been seen in public since March but the fact that Birchley has sent him down to Sydney must be respected. Rigamorale has the horror barrier but the Lonhro colt has shown plenty in recent trials.
Leg 4 – One Sweet Day looked above herself in condition yet she ran a solid race first up. She will improve big time on that effort and gun rider Christian Reith sticks with the mare. She’s A Rock Star looked very sharp in a recent barrier trial at Gosford and if it wasn’t a heavy track, I’d declare her a special. Hyami hasn’t shown much for a while and has done nothing in three first up runs, but she looked ok in a barrier trial win. Shezamyth was poor at Rosehill but a drop back in journey may see the filly at her best.
Leg 5 – Looks a race in two. Dream Surprise hit the line well at Rosehill behind Coup Ay Tee and the rise in distance is only beneficial. Merchandise is an import for Chris Waller and the gelding has gotten better each time. Fought hard at Newcastle last start when he led. Weighted beautifully here and looks primed for a win.
Leg 6 – Ok, go as wide as possible. For me, I’ll include Bohemian Spirit, Higashi, Palace Coup, United Harmony, Fragranza and Oakfield Comet. The last leg is an absolute lottery.
Leg 1: 1, 2, 4
Leg 2: 2, 3
Leg 3: 2, 4, 7
Leg 4: 5, 6, 7, 9
Leg 5: 3, 5
Leg 6: 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 10
