A bumper ten race card has been set down for Rosehill on Saturday for Coolmore Classic Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (12:30) Midway (Bm72) 1200m
11 Smiling Prophet (Bet Now: $18.00) is racing very well for Mick Minervini and should take beating. She comes through the Midway from two weeks ago and was good from off the speed, closing with purpose when fourth to Catch The Glory, who is above average. That reads well for this and 1200m should be fine.
7 Everyone’s A Star (Bet Now: $11.00) doesn’t have the best of racing patterns but she has the finale to be quite dangerous. She ran in the Midway a fortnight back won by Catch The Glory. She got too far out of her ground and while she was never a winning threat, her finale was quite good. Dangerous if within range.
4 Huon (Bet Now: $6.50) comes back to 1200m after attempting to lead throughout over 1250m at Canterbury and he gave a very strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through behind Mafia. He’s racing well and I think with a more patient steer, he can threaten.
Race 2. (13:05) Bisley Workwear (Bm78) 1900m
6 All In The Mind (Bet Now: $10.00) is racing well for Bjorn Baker and I think will appreciate getting to 1900m. His last couple of runs have come over 1550m at Canterbury, the latest seeing him run third to Sweysive after seemingly getting every chance in transit and tried hard but couldn’t quite get there. Hard fit now, can settle forward, definite threat.
5 Father’s Day (Bet Now: $6.00) will land on speed and takes beating for that man again, Bjorn Baker. He attempted to lead throughout a fortnight back over 2000m at Randwick and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through, lacking the change up speed late in the piece behind King’s Valley. Front end control, he takes beating.
4 Unlimited (Bet Now: $10.00) is dangerous with his best. He ran behind King’s Valley two weeks back and off a freshen up, he was never a factor but did keep finding the line well enough in defeat. Better for the run, he can threaten for sure.
Race 3. (13:40) Pago Pago Stakes 1200m
6 United States (Bet Now: $5.50) is a class animal and still my #1 seed for the Slipper even though the set up here looks horrendous with the gate. He hasn’t raced since the Pierro when given a sore back by K Mac and was just never a factor behind Shaggy in a total forgive. He should have won on debut…I do think he is a class juvenile and can do a Shinzo. Win this, back up and win the Slipper.
4 Skyhook… (Bet Now: $3.00) he should be in the Slipper field because he should have won the Skyline two weeks ago. He just got badly held up at the wrong time but loved the way he closed off late, just missing when a narrow second to Rivellino. He’s got the engine under the hood and stable is flying with their juveniles.
2 Comedy… (Bet Now: $7.50) is he wanting 1400m+? He comes through the Skyline where he got back off the speed and though held up at times, he just didn’t really have the change up speed to go with them late. I reckon he wants further but he has talent and can pinch first four IMO.
Race 4. (14:15) Magic Night Stakes 1200m
2 Artistic Venture (Bet Now: $5.50) should prove hard to beat for the O’Shea/Charlton camp after racing two weeks ago in the Sweet Embrace. She got back to near last in the run and while she was never a winning threat, you had to like the way she closed off late in the piece. Hard fit, J Mac on, she’ll do me.
1 Memo (Bet Now: $9.00) is a filly that has runs on the board to say she’s hard to beat here. She was off a break when contesting the Sweet Embrace and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through behind impressive winner Within The Law. Fitter and up to 1200m, she’s one of the leading contenders.
6 Autumn Blonde (Bet Now: $8.50) is one of the leading chances off the back of her Sweet Embrace effort from two weeks back when just off the speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish the job when a close up fourth. Knocking on the door and has to be respected.
Race 5. (14:50) Sky High Stakes 2000m
It’s no secret that I have been hot on 5 Vauban (Bet Now: $9.50) for the Tancred so keen to see him resume here. He hasn’t raced since the Melbourne Cup where once again, he was a mess pre race and ran accordingly when down the track. He is now with GaiBott and his trial work has been great, and I loved his work between races last week at Warwick Farm. If he brings his best…it’s no betting.
1 Lindermann (Bet Now: $1.75) won the race last year and looks on track to repeat the dose. He has been great in both runs back, the latest being in the Verry Elleegant when on speed and was gitsy as ever in defeat behind Via Sistina. Hard fit, 2000m, he is one of the leading contenders.
6 Kinesiology (Bet Now: $10.00) is a key threat. He ran behind Our Anchorage a few weeks back at Rosehill when third. He got into a decent spot in transit and tried hard but couldn’t quite get there. Like him up to 2000m, hard fit and has a touch of class on his side at his best when right.
Race 6. (15:25) Phar Lap Stakes 1500m
12 Declichy Boulevard (Bet Now: $2.40) is flying for Chris Waller. Trialled up like a rocket before resuming in the Light Fingers when good against the race shape before going to the Surround where she was back and held up at times before getting clear and was very good late. Hard fit and up in trip, she takes beating.
10 Real Class (Bet Now: $10.00) is a very interesting runner. Chris Waller trains this former Kiwi, who has Oaks aspirations, so she may need the run, but she looks to have a touch of quality about her and thought her Warwick Farm trial leading in was quite good.
7 Movin Out (Bet Now: $27.00) is a very, very interesting runner. Former Kiwi that makes her Australian debut for Chris Waller after formerly being with Bill Thurlow. She hasn’t been sighted since the Thousand Guineas at Riccarton when off speed and worked home with purpose behind Captured By Love. Three trials under the belt, she’s a definite market watch.
Race 7. (16:00) Maurice Mccarten Stakes 1100m
7 Pisanallo (Bet Now: $2.50) is a talented son of Ribchester that resumes for James Cummings. He is first up, ending the Spring on an absolute high when winning 3/3, the latest being an arrogant win on Gong Day at Kembla. He is a horse who can sprint well on the fresh side and his trial work to get ready has been great.
6 Time To Boogie (Bet Now: $4.40) will jump on the bunny and take beating. That was the case three weeks ago at this track/distance when leading throughout and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and win. Good racing style for the Rosehill 1100m and will give a great sight.
1 Coal Crusher (Bet Now: $19.00) is getting on in years for Joe Pride but he is a tough campaigner that is rarely far away. He resumes after a Spring prep where he ran solid races against good types but didn’t quite measure up, though his third in The Hunter was very good behind Briasa. Can sprint well fresh and has a good racing style.
Race 8. (16:35) Coolmore Classic 1500m
Really good race this with a host of winning chances. But, I think the each way play is clearly 8 Grinzinger Belle (Bet Now: $SP.00). She resumed in the Mannerism three weeks ago at Caulfield when going very hard in front into the wind and that burn just told late, but she stayed on and was far from disgraced behidn Coeur Volante. She’ll lead, roll and take running down.
1 Amelia’s Jewel (Bet Now: $8.00) is technically second up but really, she is first up. She won the Guy Walter first up, but it was a barrier trial, with J Mac getting complete control in front on her and it was a painless watch after 100m. She is the class of the field and class will carry her a long way.
7 Coeur Volante (Bet Now: $15.00) is a few weeks between runs since a dominant win in the Mannerism at Caulfield where she tracked Grinzinger Belle throughout and was trucking before Shinn angled her clear and away she went to win and win well. Hard fit now, good racing style, she appeals big time.
Race 9. (17:15) Ajax Stakes 1500m
14 West Of Africa (Bet Now: $11.00) to stamp his Doncaster credentials here. He resumed off a freshen up three weeks ago over 1400m here. He was back near last in a sit/sprint and from last, he tried to make a sustained run but just died on the run the last 150m behind Ducasse. Better for the run, get a drag into the race and launch late.
1 Pericles (Bet Now: $4.00) is a class animal that can easily bounce back. He resumed in the Futurity at Caulfield where he was quite plain in the straight after getting a good run in transit but did pull up with EIPH in a total forgive. Great record at Rosehill, he can bounce back.
11 Ducasse (Bet Now: $3.10) was gelded prior to resuming three weeks ago here. He lobbed into a beaut spot off the speed before angling clear and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. He’s got good upside/improvement to come and is one of the hardest to beat.
Race 10. (17:55) Quayclean (Bm88) 1400m
1 Glint Of Silver (Bet Now: $7.00) looks to have returned really well and up to 1400m with the run under the belt, he is one of the hardest to beat. Market didn’t want a bar of him when resuming two weeks ago at Randwick but landed on speed, got a very soft time of it and kicked strongly, only to be nabbed late by Spring Lee. If there is no second up syndrome, he appeals.
12 Les Vampires (Bet Now: $3.10) should appreciate getting to 1400m. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but Hippo went too slow on him when resuming a fortnight back over 1200m at Randwick, which allowed Spring Lee to use her turn of foot and win. More positive ride up to 1400m, he takes beating.
3 Private Legacy (Bet Now: $23.00) is a Greg Hickman trained mare that resumes. She is first up, having not raced since Champions Day at Flemington in the Matriarch when not being 100% to my eye, hanging throughout when down the track behind Hinged. Better suited over further but her trial work has been quite good.
