South Australian form analyst Joseph Galati asesses a bumper weekend’s racing from Adelaide’s premier racetrack Morphettville Parks before racing returns to the main track for Monday’s Adelaide Cup meeting.
Race 1 – Allan Scott Morphettville HCP 1000m
Handy little sprint race for the 2 year olds. WIn For Wilson (6) is debuting here and is a beautifully bred gelding raced by the dominant Patinack Farm juggernaut. He is the big watch here as he debuts. Universal Bolt (1) was a winner on debut and is a nice type whilst High Value (8) is a half sister to Rowdy Rocker and could surprise.
Win For Wilson (6)
Universal Bolt (1)
High Value (8)
Race 2 – Pro Paint’n Panel HCP (RTG 94) 1950m
Bacchus Eagle (4) should win. It looks as easy as that. This race is not the strongest middle distance race you’ll see and its devoid of many main hopes. The Galileo gelding will be short but I think he’ll get the chocolates comfortably. Sandhill Prince (1) and Daydream Charlie (7) make up the minors in what looks a poor race on paper.
*** Bacchus Eagle (4) ***
Sandhill Prince (1)
Daydream Charlie (7)
Race 3 – IC Frith HCP (RTG 94) 1000m
Streetcar Magic (2) is a horse with a plethora of ability and resumes here off a 5 month spell. Last preparation this 4 year old son of Blevic weaved a passage along this inside to claim the Dermody Stakes by the barest of margins. He looks to be the one. Bella Leah (3) goes well and should be included as should You Dee Cee (8)

Bella Leah (3)
You Dee Cee (8)
Race 4 – Boileau HCP 1400m
The fourth event looks a race in two. Population (1) will be very short so I’m siding with Condelago (2) who returned 3 weeks back and ran on very nicely behind the smart Caplamp. He gets claiming apprentice Kyle Hocking onboard and will be tough to beat. Population (1) has travelled a fair bit this preparation but his run in last months C S Hayes Stakes at Flemington holds him in good stead for this. Addiction To Rock (3) can run a good race.
Condelago (2)

Addiction To Rock (3)
Race 5 – 30th Schweppes Oaks 26/3 (RTG 75) 1400m
Tough race for the first leg of the quaddie. Owners Priority (2) goes on top. Darren Weir knows when he is on a good thing and his strike rate in Adelaide is outstanding. Barrier 1 and the claim from Billy Egan holds the mare in good shape for this. Invincible Diva (6) is a chance and You Or Me (11) must be thrown in.
Owners Priority (2)
Invincible Diva (6)
You Or Me (11)
Race 6 – Carbine Club HCP (RTG 75) 1250m
Aetos (1) went well last start against Aintnofallenstar who is a major player at Flemington in the Kewney Stakes. Aetos (1) has only missed the placings once in 6 starts and looks the major player. Amy’s Glen (2) ran well first up after drawing the car park last start and Spirited Princess (4) goes good as well.
Aetos (1)
Amy’s Glen (2)
Spirited Princess (4)
Race 7 – Zobel Finance HCP (RTG 68+) 1400m
Candle (2) is a favourite here at JHR and regular jockey Jordan Frew gets back on and the claim puts Candle (2) right back in the mix after last weeks disappointing effort. Nevzlin (7) is only a small mare but she is a fighter and drops weight and gets a better barrier on the back of her last start win. Those two are must haves. Kaleske (6) and Ocean Challenger (3) are capable runners.
Candle (2)
Nevzlin (7)
Kaleske (6)
Race 8 – Portobello HCP (RTG 75) 1550m
Landamman (1) is a former Darley galloper relocating to the Frew stable from Sydney. He is in good form and looks a very good chance. Thornburst (5) has drawn terribly but if the pace is hot its will help his chances dramatically. Iquit (11) has had a long time off but has had a couple of runs this time in and should be fully fit and rearing to go.
Landamman (1)
Thornburst (5)
Iquit (11)
BEST BET: Running Double – Race 2) #4 Bacchus Eagle and Race 3) #2 Streetcar Magic.
