RACE 1 – TROTEC LASER HCP (94) 1000M
Tough little race to begin a solid days racing from Morphettville today with the entire field of just 6 presenting some sort of chance. I’m siding with Ocean Challenger (1) who flies first up and enjoys running at the track. The 3 kilogram claim for Jordan Frew will help. Soda Pop Girl (6) could well be the outsider of this small field but has won her last 3 starts and shouldn’t be far away, whilst Orbsidian Dragon (4) goes well first up and will be challenging strongly.

RACE 2 – LAUBMAN & PANK HCP (94) 2400M
The second on the card is your typical Morphettville stayers race. Stakhanovite (2) finally gets a race without having to contend Gotta Keep Cool or the flying Maunatrice. He looks the one in a lacklustre field although his 2 wins from 38 starts isnt overly convincing. Darren Weir brings Streaky Fella (3) to the races and when he does punters take notice. The son of Street Cry will need the sting out of the track but will be thereabouts. Bacchus Eagle (5) is a good each way chance but you wouldn’t want to be betting big in this race.

RACE 3 – CHECK YOUR PROSTATE (75) 1950M
Ultra Savings (8) comes into the third event on the back of a record breaking win at Mount Gambier over the 2050m. The slight drop in distance isnt of any concern but the wide barrier is. He’s a good each way bet. Madlool (6) ran well in good caompany last week and should be kept under notice whilst Prinsom (7) doesn’t win often but is handy on his day.

RACE 4 – ALLAN SCOTT PARK MORPHETTVILLE HANDICAP (75) 1400M
This race is a cracker, its hard to decide on just 3 selections but Aetos (2) led them a merry dance last start when first up and looks a top chance. Jockey Todd Pannell should get the full beneift of barrier 3 and find the front and emulate last starts performance. Mystic Moment (3) ran second to the smart Population lasts start before having a barrier trail where she ran second to the handy Condelago.
She is a definite threat. Jesse’s Miss (8) has some trouble jumping away but the longer distance should suit her.

RACE 5 – THOMAS FARMS HCP (68+) 1400M
First leg of the quaddie begins in this race and if you took our selections last week you wouldve picked up the $502 dividend with Super TAB having taken a total of just 8 combinations. Candle (1) has been our top tip the last few weeks and hasn’t diasppointed. He’s short in this affair but he has one foot on the till in the first leg of the till. His form is simply outstanding. Outlandish Lad (2) looks the main danger again but has to give the top weight 3 kilograms which looks too much. Kaleske (6) has shown hes a more than capable galloper and gets a couple of kilograms off Candle but it may not be enough.

RACE 6 – TOTALLY WORKWEAR HCP (75) 1000M
Tropic Thunder (3) draws barrier 2 in the second leg of the quaddie and is coming off a close second a fortnight ago where he drew the widest barrier and went down by a short half-head. Bit Of A Dude (1) flies this track and distance but has drawn Bray Street whilst Lilgiggleo (4) races well first up and should be threatening. Add numbers 5 through to 9 for your multiples. You could almost take two quaddies, one with Tropic Thunder one out and one with a well bolstered second leg.

Lilgiggleo (4)
RACE 7 – E.J. WHITTEN FOUNDATION (86) 1250M
Its another good race in the seventh event. Top tip here is Tahnee Topaz (9) apprentice Libby Hopwood is one of the best apprentices in Australia and followed Tahnee Topaz (9) down to Flemington last start where the mare was given huge weight and ran a good third. Flying Tessie (1) is the obvious class runner and goes very well first up without winning. She gets a race that suits and will be right in the mix. Little mare Nevzlin (14) is honest and should be a chance is the second emergency gets a run.

RACE 8 – FRED VELLA TYRE & CRASH (75) 1400M
Sacred Snaadee (3) was just beaten at good odds last start and goes down in weight and has drawn a much better gate and looks the one to beat. Thornburst (5) a good honest gelding with a good stike rate but a horrid barrier. Elegant ‘N’ Easy (1) is having his third run in two years and looks well suited with the claim.
