Race 1. (14:09) Pepsi Plate 1000m
5 Barron Bill (Bet Now:Β $2.00) can make a wunning debut. Dan Morton trained juvenile that has looked strong in a couple of trials, the latest seeing him win last week at Belmont and seemed to move very well. Good lead that Pike is booked so happy to be in his corner.
7 Official Business (Bet Now:Β $3.40) is on debut for Neville Parnham and commands respect. He ran second to Barron Bill in the trial mentioned above. Beaten narrowly but seemed to move well and had a bit in hand so keen to see how he goes.
1 All On Red (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since resuming in the Supremacy when near the speed throughout and did try hard but just felt the pinch Kate behind Aurum Belle. Form reads well and his best is good enough to be dangerous.
Race 2. (14:44) Tabtouch - Westspeed Platinum Hcp 1000m
1 Acorn (Bet Now:Β $3.90) looks hard to beat here for Adam Durrant. Lovely return win at Belmont, giving them a start and a beating in a sharp display. Looks a nice horse and this is a race well within reach for him IMO.
3 Hezangelic (Bet Now:Β $2.70) is on the quick back up for Mitch Pateman after racing at Albany on Sunday where he attempted to lead throughout and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through. Good racing style, he’ll look the winner for a long way.
2 Go Go Grommet (Bet Now:Β $6.50) is a Team Gangemi trained gelding that resumes. He hasn’t raced since Nov 8 over 1200m here when looking a tired horse, an end of prep run. Trial win last week was sharp, watch betting.
Race 3. (15:21) Strangelove Hcp 1000m
1 Tycoon Harry (Bet Now:Β $4.20) is three weeks between runs since a track/distance win when on speed and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to score. Good racing style, he’ll take beating.
2 Kay Tee Why (Bet Now:Β $2.70) is an Adam Durrant trained gelding that resumes. He hasn’t raced since Nov 29 over 1200m here when back in the run and made up good headway late with it really threatening. Resumes without a trial and likely will spot them a start but motor late.
5 Crippalenko (Bet Now:Β $11.00) is on the seven day back up after racing over this track/distance last Saturday when keen behind the speed and just couldn’t quite finish the race off. Hit and miss but is dangerous with his best.
Race 4. (16:01) Solo Hcp 2400m
5 Western Lady (Bet Now:Β $1.40) picks herself I feel. Dominant win last Saturday over 2200m here, getting the beaut run just off speed before being angled for clear air and she made a mess of them late to win well. Extra 200m no issue, she looks a good thing.
3 Audio Boy (Bet Now:Β $5.50) ran third to Western Lady last Saturday here. He was just off the speed and while he was safely held by the winner, I liked the way he stuck on. He should be around the mark once again.
6 Guns Away (Bet Now:Β $201.00) steps up to 2400m after racing over 2100m at Belmont. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, I didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat. Not sure he wins but he can run first four.
Race 5. (16:39) Mrs Mac's Hcp 1200m
5 Ladies Pro (Bet Now:Β $1.45) is a quality filly for Team Williams that resumes and if she’s ready to go, she’s the one to beat. She last raced in the WA Guineas when running a slashing fourth after sitting off speed. 1200m is on the short side for her but class is going to carry her just about over the line.
10 She’s Capitana (Bet Now:Β $35.00) steps up to 1200m after a first up second over 1000m at Belmont, sitting off speed before being presented wider and let down well in defeat. Fitter and up in trip, she’s a definite improver.
4 Xentaro (Bet Now:Β $23.00) is a son of Nicconi that resumes for Neville Parnham. He is better suited over further but does have a touch of quality about him when right and looks to have trialled up well for the return so watch the market and see what it does.
Race 6. (17:14) Kambalda Veterans Fc Hcp 1200m
4 Too Darn Stormy (Bet Now:Β $2.90) should prove hard to beat after a second last Wednesday at this track/distance when off speed and chased with purpose in the straight but just found one better. Hard fit now, should get a drag into the race and take beating.
7 Superfluous (Bet Now:Β $18.00) was good in defeat in the same race that Too Darn Stormy contested. He was back and wide but loved the way he closed his race off in defeat. If he can settle closer in the run, he’ll take holding out.
10 Ourgirlcanrun (Bet Now:Β $2.70) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when attempting to lead throughout and gave a decent enough kick in front but just tired late. Good racing style, she’ll give a sight at a price.
Race 7. (17:49) Marjorie Charleson Classic 1200m
7 Black Ora (Bet Now:Β $2.80) should prove hard to beat for Adam Durrant. She resumed over 1000m here three weeks ago where she got a fair way out of her ground but was good late. 1200m is a slight query but she’ll launch late. Just depends if she gets too far out of her ground.
1 London’s Image (Bet Now:Β $4.40) comes back to 1200m after racing over 1400m in the Bunbury Stakes when off speed and chased with purpose in the straight when second to Bonjoy. That form clearly reads well and she has class on her side.
2 Petula (Bet Now:Β $21.00) should be better for the first up run, which came last Wednesday at this track/distance when back near last in the run and made up decent headway but was never a winning threat. Hit and miss but with her best, I say she’s dangerous.
Race 8. (18:24) Bisley Workwear Hcp 1400m
9 Searchin Times (Bet Now:Β $2.05) is a good filly who keeps handling the raising of the bar. Track/distance winner from three weeks ago, leading throughout and gave nothing else a look in to win and win well. Hard to beat once again I say.
5 Rally The Troops (Bet Now:Β $7.50) comes here after a sharp midweek win at Belmont, wunning by a space from off speed and ran decent enough time in the process. Good test but think he can measure up.
2 Odinaka (Bet Now:Β $11.00) steps up to 1400m after resuming over 1200m here last Wednesday where he got back and wide and while he was never threatening, I didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat. Better for the run, good upside, he’s a knockout hope.
Race 9. (19:00) Watc Derby 2400m
7 Wonderfully Made (Bet Now:Β $1.75) is a ripping filly for Dan Morton and is a clear top seed for me. She was outstanding in the WA Oaks, making a mess of them in a dominant display. She has the 2400m run under the belt, good racing style and will be strong at the end.
2 Sentimental Legend (Bet Now:Β $3.00) has to be given respect for Team Williams after his Melvista triumph. He had a beaut run in behind the speed before getting clear air and away he went to win and win well. His confidence is up and he does look the clear top seed of the boys.
5 Sovereign Salute (Bet Now:Β $151.00) steps up to 2400m after racing over the mile last Thursday at Belmont. He got a fair way back and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was quite good in defeat. Not sure he is good enough to win but he could pinch first four.
Race 10. (19:30) Peters Investments Hcp 1600m
2 Defending (Bet Now:Β $4.60) steps up to the mile after racing over 1500m here three weeks ago. He got into a lovely spot in transit just off speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish the job when third to Searchin Times. Racing well and should take beating.
1 Noble Connection (Bet Now:Β $31.00) comes back to 1600m after racing over 1800m here last Wednesday where he never looked likely at any stage in a plain effort. Prior efforts were strong and if he brings his best, he’s dangerous here.
4 Crunchy Nut (Bet Now:Β $8.00) is on the seven day back up after a track/distance win last Saturday, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Harder here but at least he’s in winning form and will be strong late.
