11/12/2021 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Eagle Farm, The Gateway day

4 Greek Hero (Bet Now: $4.80) has returned in really good order for Jason Deamer. Ran over 1500m at Newcastle last time out and worked home very strongly from near last in the run when third to a talented animal, Grande Rumore. Two time third up winner and up to the mile, he appeals.

6 So Taken (Bet Now: $4.40) gets the Blinkers on first time and is hard to beat. Chris Waller trained mare that was a well tried favourite at Doomben last start. Looked gone for a few strides on the turn but picked up and was solid late when third behind stablemate and the in form Kubrick. Blinkers on will hopefully sharpen him up.

2 Ammoudi Bay (Bet Now: $21.00) is on the seven day back up for Olivia Cairns after racing last Saturday in the Country Cup Final when working home with real purpose from near last in the run behind a very good horse at that level, Rather Sulubrious. Not sure he wins, but think he’s a first four contender.

1400m has to be a genuine query with 2 Maximum Output (Bet Now: $4.40), but the small field and a potentially slow tempo, plus Ryan Maloney aboard, gives him a chance to see it out. Toughed it out best on speed to win last time out on the Sunny Coast Poly. With a more conservative steer, I think he’ll be more effective.

3 Vetta Velocita (Bet Now: $4.40) is a Stuart Kendrick trained gelding who looks to have talent. Race shape was against him two back behind Caboche. The came back to 1400m where he dropped a fair bit in class and he gave them a spanking on heavy ground. Can he do it on a dry deck.

6 Our Red Planet (Bet Now: $5.00) should be suited back to 1400m. He ran over the mile at the Sunny Coast three weeks back and given the race shape, he had no chance, but that aside, not sure the mile was to his liking. 1400m is better for him and off prior form, he can win this.

Well what a story this would be with Allan Chau having a Stakes winner and a potential Magic Millions contender. I think he might have that horse in 6 Proud Of You (Bet Now: $6.50). Admittedly, in his trial there were a few juveniles who had no idea what they were doing, but the clock doesn’t lie and gee it was a sharp piece of work. I’m really keen to see how he goes.

1 Palazzo Spirit (Bet Now: $2.80) looks a smart colt for the O’Dea/Hoysted and I think he can make a statement re Magic Millions. Debuted over this track/distance in early October where he was on speed. There to be run down but found under pressure and was too good in what has been a strong form race. He’s ready to rock and roll.

2 Hard To Say (Bet Now: $6.50) has the hard fitness/experience under the belt which should hold him in good stead. He was wide no cover for the trip at Rosehill two weeks ago and battled on okay in defeat behind Lady Laguna. Gets a better run from the inside gate and can improve sharply.

To me, the Queensland juveniles look a bit on the thin side, so I want to be with one away from the sunshine state, which is 10 Penthouse (Bet Now: $12.00), on debut for Matty Dale. She has had one trial to get ready for start one, which came at Goulburn when third and she looked to go about her business nicely. Stable rarely misfire when going on the road so in an even race, I’ll speck her.

2 Rose Of Shiraz (Bet Now: $8.50) is a filly that was big odds when debuting three weeks back at the Sunny Coast but despite seemingly having no friends in the market, she found plenty under pressure and kicked on strongly to get the job done. Good test for her here, but she has the right racing pattern.

9 Modele (Bet Now: $19.00) is the interesting runner. Kelly Schweida trained filly that was smashed in betting on debut here and she failed to fire in a plain effort behind Mishani Persuasion. Blinkers go on and the tick over trial was a good piece of work. Given the market support fresh, watch the betting here.

If the Golden Eagle run hasn’t busted him, 1 Apache Chase (Bet Now: $1.35) just wins. That is the only query with him because it was a solid contest, but it’s clearly the A1 form reference on a class and subsequent form front. Loves Eagle Farm, should find the front and just be winning.

8 Palaisipan (Bet Now: $7.00) is a ripping mare for Chris Munce that should prove to be a threat here. Good second fresh at Doomben behind Lyrical Girl. Was down to run on the washed out meeting at the Gold Coast. Instead, she ran last Friday at Ipswich where class came to the fore and it was a big win from where she was in the run and the race shape. Think she’ll measure up here.

9 Dzsenifer (Bet Now: $10.00) is in with a shout as a place chance. The Doomben resumption was more than sound I thought. Then went to the Sunny Coast where she attempted to lead throughout and didn’t fire late behind Darleb. Much better suited with a sit, so can improve. I doubt enough to win.

3 Expat (Bet Now: $3.30) looks a pretty talented mare for Mark Newnham. She has been one of the more improved gallopers in Sydney. Looked a plain thing early on in her career but fast forward to now, she’s a multiple Saturday metro winner and could well be a Stakes class horse in time. Dominant win fresh at Rosehill and think she can continue her winning ways.

7 Georgie’s Pride (Bet Now: $6.00) is a ripping mare for Desleigh Forster that will put herself on speed and give her all. Hasn’t raced for a few weeks since being on speed at Rosehill where she was near the speed and fought on bravely when third to Katalin. Back on a track she loves, she’ll take beating from the front.

12 Ingear (Bet Now: $11.00) has to be respected. Tony Gollan trained mare that got control at Eagle Farm on Cup Day and really, from the home turn, she was the only horse you wanted to be on and she made a mess of them. Good test for here, but I think she’ll measure up for sure.

3 Shooting For Gold (Bet Now: $2.70) should prove hard to beat here. O’Dea/Hoysted trained gelding that resumed in the Swiss Ace at the Sunny Coast and didn’t stop chasing when third to a very sharp sprinter, Zoustyle. Unbeaten second up and at Eagle Farm. he’ll take beating against these.

5 Totally Charmed (Bet Now: $5.00) is an O’Dea/Hoysted trained gelding that is three weeks between runs since resuming in the Swiss Ace where he worked home strongly from off the speed when second to Zoustyle, and we know what he did last Saturday in the George Moore. Saves his best for 1000m and will be strong at the end.

I reckon a fast run 1000m will suit 12 Simply Fly (Bet Now: $8.50). Has been kept on ice since being on speed in the Keith Noud and seemingly had his chance when fifth to Tambo’s Mate. Loved the trial earlier this week and back to 1000m I find as a big, big positive here.

I want to give 7 Garibaldi (Bet Now: $2.60) another chance. Was with him first up in the Swiss Ace but the market said he had three legs. He ran accordingly in a plain return behind Zoustyle. Much better set up this time around and I think this race will be a guide as to whether he’s a contender or pretender.

13 Mass Destruction (Bet Now: $7.00) is a Spirit Of Boom four year old for Tony Gollan that resumes. This guy hasn’t raced since June 26 when placing at this track/distance when a well held third to Garoppolo. He is a horse who tends to race best fresh and looks to have trialled well to get ready.

10 Boomtown Lass (Bet Now: $13.00) is better suited here I feel and can bounce back. Resumed in the Swiss Ace at the Sunny Coast where she just found the class and race shape not to her liking when down the track behind Zoustyle. If she can get luck from the draw, she’ll be around the mark.

Back on a firmer deck, I’ll go each way with 11 Zoulou Dancer (Bet Now: $23.00) in the get out. Ran in the Jakama race at Ipswich where she got a fair way back in the run but really liked the way she finished off her race. Should get three/four wide cover from the draw and launch late.

6 Jakama (Bet Now: $4.50) is a ripping mare for John Dann that should be around the mark. Lovely ride from Collett saw her win last time out at Ipswich, getting the suck run behind the speed and finishing best in a driving go. Has run well at Saturday metro level before and finds a suitable race.

12 Norm’s Choice (Bet Now: $11.00) can be dangerous from the inside gate. Market took a set against her at Ipswich last time and while it was proven correct, her finale was more than sound in defeat after getting back in the run. Can sit much closer in the run from the draw and is a definite threat.

BEST BET: Race Eight Number 7 Garibaldi

NEXT BEST: Race One Number 4 Greek Hero

LONG SHOT: Race Nine Number 11 Zoulou Dancer
