11/11/2023 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Doomben, Keith Noud Quality day

1 Head Honcho (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a nice juvenile for Ryan Tyrell. He ran two weeks ago at Doomben and when he presented in the straight, he looked all over a winner but I think he half turned it up once he found the front and was nabbed late by Mishani Eclipse. I think 1200m will be fine for him and I think with a bunny to chase, he’ll take a power of beating IMO.

4 Mishani Suspect (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat. She debuted with a strong on speed win at Eagle Farm before going here a fortnight back where she got too far back in the run and while she was never a threat, she did make up ground and was good late in the race mentioned above. Hard to beat if the inside gate is used to advantage.

8 Mishani Sunset (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a knockout chance. This filly is just under three weeks between runs since racing at the Sunny Coast where she got off the speed and was chasing from the outset but she kept finding the line in a pretty good effort behind stablemate Mishani Storm. Think she has the engine under the hood to measure up. Just needs to jump clean.

1 Beast Mode (Bet Now:  $SP.00) tends to race best on the fresh side with a few weeks between runs leading into this, I am happy to be in his corner. He has been kept on ice, having not raced since October 15 when on speed and tried his guts out but couldn’t quite get the win when third to the very much in form Maximum Output. He has a good racing style and will look the winner for a long way.

10 Goblin’ De Quo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a talented sprinter for Darryl Ward that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since April 23 when a strong winner at the Sunny Coast, and albeit the margin was narrow, the win was pretty good in solid time. Resumes without a trial but down in the weights, maps ideally, hard to beat.

2 Mr Galazzi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a short course specialist that will jump on speed and take running down. He won over 800m at Ipswich last time, producing sustained speed from the front and gave nothing else a look in to win and win well. Last bit will test but with his racing pattern, he’ll give himself every chance.

7 Midnight In Tokyo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is getting towards D-Day for Annabel. Market wanted her with a lot of confidence when resuming here two weeks ago and after lobbing outside the speed, she looked the winner but being first up without a public trial, condition just gave way late behind Outlawed. Better for the run under the belt, I’ll back in her class to get her home.

6 Compassionate (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Barry Lockwood. She jumped up to 1200m a fortnight back here where she got back in the run and was very good late in the piece without threatening behind impressive winner Outlawed. She has the 1200m run under the belt, which should hold her in good stead against these.

4 My Snow Queen (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a David Vandyke trained mare that is three weeks between runs since racing at Eagle Farm where she seemingly had every chance behind the speed but was close up in defeat and a definite pass mark behind Lost In Transit. Back to Mares grade, back to Doomben, I think she is here as a definite winning chance.

8 I Am The Empire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned in good order for Annabel Neasham. Both runs back from a spell have come at Eagle Farm, catching the eye first up over 1500m before stepping up to 1800m three weeks ago where they rode with intent to settle on speed and he ran well but had no answers for the finale of Sunset Soiree, who bolted up on Tuesday to frank the form. Like him up to 2000m and with a more patient steer, he’ll be far more effective.

6 Montabot (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win. Just over two weeks between runs since racing over 1800m at Eagle Farm where he kept finding the line from off the speed but just found one better in a very much in form Noble Cat. Has won up to 2400m so 2000m should be fine and IMO he strikes a winnable race.

5 Ostermeier (Bet Now:  $SP.00) rates highly for me. Far from disgraced two back in the QLD Cup before backing up a week later and he kept finding the line from off the speed, just missing out on the win when second to Little Mix. He has a good record in town and with the small-ish field, he won’t be far away and he’ll get his chance to finish over the top.

7 Addriel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has returned in super order and should take beating here for Annabel Neasham. This gelding has been good in two runs back, resuming with a third to Show Me Mercy before racing here two weeks ago when off the speed throughout and kept finding the line in a good effort behind impressive winner Abounding. Hard fit now and only has to hold his form to be around the mark IMO.

4 Victory Win (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is favourite and is hard to beat, but gee he’s short. He resumed with a win at the Sunny Coast where he gave them a start and a beating in an electric return. He beat camels but ran decent time in the process. Gets in quite well after the claim, upside to come, he appeals.

5 Golden Decade (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will be spotting them a start and should be strong at the end. He comes through the Abounding race from a fortnight back here where he got back off the speed and despite never being a winning threat, he was solid late behind the talented filly. Hopefully can settle closer in the run and still be effective at the end.

2 Cacofonix (Bet Now:  $SP.00) appeals here for mine. Kris Lees trained gelding that was unwanted in betting when racing at this track/distance last Wednesday where he got into a beaut spot behind the speed before angling clear and gee he let down with purpose, giving them a spanking. Off that, he’s the one to beat here for mine.

Fitter and up to 1350m are two big ticks for 4 Pentito (Bet Now:  $SP.00). He was well specked at odds when first up at Doomben a fortnight back where he wasn’t able to use the inside gate and got shuffled back, but he did make up solid headway and the return was a definite pass mark behind The Face. He’ll love the rise in trip and if he is within range, he can launch over the top.

5 Sergeant Hulka (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here off a win and should be strong at the end. He is three weeks between runs since winning at Rockhampton where he looked a moral on paper and despite a few nervous moments, class came to the fore and he was too good. Maps to do no work in the run and is a potential knockout hope.

3 Caesaris (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. Tony Gollan trained mare that ran two weeks ago over 1000m when on speed throughout and credit to her, she was there to be beaten, she was strong to the line in getting the job done. If she can stretch her brilliance to 1200m, she’s the one to beat.

8 Amore Veloce (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has returned in pretty good order and is knocking on the door to win. She ran at this track/distance two weeks ago when getting the suck run behind the speed before angling clear and tried to get there but just found one better in a quality sprinter, The Face. No horse of that quality here IMO so I think she only has to hold her form to be around the mark.

6 Thunder Mania (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Symons/Laxon trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Feb 25 here when getting every chance behind the speed and seemingly had his chance but was a bit on the plain side late in the piece behind Patton. He is a horse who has a good fresh record and I thought his recent trial was a lovely piece of work. Watch the market and see what it does.

11 Cifrado (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a quality three year old for Rex Lipp that rates as one of the hardest to beat. Market said he’d need the run when resuming four weeks ago over 1000m at Eagle Farm when wide, doing work from the wide gate but despite that, he kept on and was quite good in defeat behind Osamu. Fitter and up in trip, better run in transit, he’ll do me.

Once upon a time, 10 Zarastro (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a milk drinker but fast forward to now and he’s become a winning machine. He has won his past three, all coming at the Eagle Farm 1200m, the latest being a few weeks ago when leading throughout and giving nothing else a look in, winning impressively. Not sure there is upside left but I think he only has to be holding his form to be winning again. Just needs to bring it to Doomben.

6 Snowzone (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a great record at Doomben and appeals here. He was big odds when racing at Eagle Farm three weeks ago and despite the big SP, he kept finding the line and got quite close to knocking off the in form Munitions. Better for that run under the belt and he does have a real liking for Doomben, so he appeals big time.

Fitter and up to the mile are two big ticks for 11 Tyresa (Bet Now:  $SP.00). This mare resumed two weeks back over 1350m at Doomben where she just lacked the change up speed to go with them late in the piece but she picked up and was solid to the line without threatening behind Bitcoin Baby. She is a second up winner and up in trip, I think she’ll only run well.

9 Awesome Lad (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up for Jason Deamer after racing last Saturday in the Four Pillars at Rosehill where he was wide no cover on speed throughout and tried his guts out but the burn told late in the piece when down the track behind Sweet Mercy. He has run well at Brisbane previously and the depth here is nowhere near as deep.

10 The Catch (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning but not a whole lot of confidence. He is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday over the mile at Eagle Farm where they rode with intent, attempting to lead throughout and he gave a brief sight, but couldn’t quite finish it off behind Tenzing. I think he’s hard fit now and with a more patient steer, he can run an improved race and the depth here isn’t deep.

3 Starzam (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned in really good order and fitter, up to 1350m, off a first up win, I am in his corner. He was backed with confidence when resuming over 1200m at Ipswich at the midweeks and those who backed knew what they were doing because he made an absolute mess of them, with the win having more merit given he bled in one nostril. If all is right with him, he’s going to take beating against these.

15 Storm The Fortress (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat for Team Edmonds. He is three weeks between runs since racing over 1400m at Eagle Farm where he seemingly had every chance and was pretty much on the thin side behind Sha Of Gomer I thought. He’s better than that so like him back to the Doomben 1350m and with the claim, he appeals.

2 Zuma California (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous with his best. He comes through the Preach race from two weeks back where he did a bit of early work from a tricky gate and I reckon that early burn just told on him late in the piece behind the Edmonds gelding. His best is clearly good enough to take this out…doubt he wins, but can pinch a first four spot.

BEST BET: Race Three Number 7 Midnight In Tokyo

NEXT BEST: Race Ten Number 3 Starzam

LONG SHOT: Race Eight Number 11 Cifrado
