The Parks track at Morphettville is where Adelaide racing takes place this Saturday. The weather is overcast, the track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (13:41) Bradley Painting Services Plate 1000m
1 Crystal Beau (Bet Now: $5.50) on top. He’s a son of Brazen Beau having his first start for Clinton McDonald who has had a couple of jump outs in readiness for his first start. The second jump out saw him sit on speed and he looked to move really nicely. This isn’t the strongest of two year old races going around, so I’ll lean his way.
4 Why Big Bry (Bet Now: $5.50) is a son of El Roca for the Busuttin/Young stable who debuted a few weeks back at Bendigo over 1000m where he was a notable drifter in betting and the market got it right. HE showed good speed to lead but was one of the first beat when last to Espinola. Should be on speed here and hopefully has improved.
3 Star Quest (Bet Now: $35.00) is a Gordon Richards trained youngster who was unwanted in betting when debuting over this track/distance three weeks ago where he sat wide no cover and dropped out when last behind Pelican. Trialled last week and won the trial and though pushed out, he responded and was quite good. Should run an improved race.
Race 2. (14:16) Daimler Trucks Adelaide Handicap (82) 1250m
Hard to get away from 2 Oberland (Bet Now: $2.50) for the Weir camp. He was a notable drifter in betting when racing at this track/distance a fortnight ago and despite sitting back off a slow tempo, he didn’t stop chasing and was quite good in defeat when beaten narrowly by Karlovasi. If the tempo is more genuine here, he’ll take some beating.
1 Benz (Bet Now: $3.30) looks just about ready to win for the in form Gordon Richards stable. He attempted to lead all the way at this track/distance two weeks back and gave a really good kick but Karlovasi had last say and grabbed him right on the peg. Third up now, so he should just about be ready fitness wise.
3 This Kid Rocks (Bet Now: $10.00) is a ripper for Belinda O’Loughlin who I thought was a touch disappointing here first over 1000m behind Rewarding Laughter before going to Naracoorte last Friday for a confidence boost and he got it, albeit narrowly. Good record at the trip and does like racing here. He can win without surprising.
Race 3. (14:51) Action Line Marking Handicap (70) 2250m
Tough race to sort out with confidence but I’ve leaned the way of 5 Sickening (Bet Now: $4.80) for the Weir stable. He ran over 2000m at Donald last time where he took an absolute eternity to wind up but once he got into his work, gee he was strong late and won well, albeit the margin was narrow. He’ll eat up the extra trip and has upside.
4 Box On Collins (Bet Now: $2.00) a clear threat. Tony McEvoy has this bloke absolutely flying and he got a well deserved win on the board at this track/distance a fortnight ago. Given a ripping ride by Andrew Mallyon just off the pace, he pounced shortly after straightening and put the race to bed rather quickly. I think with a bunny to chase for longer, he’ll be more effective.
1 Exalted Craftsman (Bet Now: $12.00) is on the seven day back up for the Grant Young team after racing over this track/distance last Saturday where on face value, he had his chance behind stablemate Olympic Academy, but keep in mind he cut back to the inside and the inside section wasn’t the A1 ground. Less depth here and I think he can go close.
Race 4. (15:31) Roadside Services & Solutions Maiden Plate 1250m
Staying at 1250m the little worry, but off last start, 11 Kenyan Wonder (Bet Now: $1.55) should be winning this. Ryan Balfour trains this filly, who ran over this track/distance last Saturday where she got back to near last in a slowly run affair but once afforded clear air, she surged and just missed. Back to maiden grade, she looks the winner.
12 Khanion Bay (Bet Now: $21.00) is a Lloyd Kennewell trained daughter of Dalakhani who debuted in June when finishing down the track behind Unfair Dismissal in what has turned out to be a hot form race. Trialled up well a couple of weeks back at Gawler so it’ll be interesting to see what she does against this lot.
8 Zameric (Bet Now: $34.00) is a son of Americain on debut for the Chris Bieg stable. This bloke had a couple of trials in August and didn’t really set the world on fire. Been given a break and has come back with another trial, and this time he was much better when a solid fourth. Better over further, but overall, this isn’t a strong race.
Race 5. (16:11) Advanced Transport Refrigeration Handicap (82) 1950m
7 Gracena (Bet Now: $4.80) is a Phillip Stokes trained mare who comes through the Box On Collins race at this track/distance from two weeks ago. She just got too far back in the run but I really liked the way she finished off. She’s ready to win. Just not 100% confident it is this race, but she’ll win one of these races very soon I feel, and should get every chance from gate one.
5 Savatag (Bet Now: $2.80) is a son of Alamosa for Will Clarken who was well supported at longer odds when getting the job done a few weeks back on the course proper over the mile under a lovely steer from Jamie Kah, who controlled things near the speed and gave nothing else a look in. Likes the Parks track and is a second up winner, so he can repeat the dose off the back of a very good trial.
1 Von Costa Glass (Bet Now: $6.00) is a Sue Jaensch trained galloper who steps up to 1950m after contesting the Donald Cup last time where he was near the speed throughout and battled away well in defeat behind Romancer. A query at the trip, but has the right form behind him and the claim for Raquel Clark helps.
Race 6. (16:51) Plumbing & Pipeline Solutions Handicap (70) 1000m
I can’t believe the odds on offer for 8 Quiddick (Bet Now: $6.50). David Tootell trains this mare, who hasn’t raced since Cup Day when scoring a narrow but impressive win on the course proper. Been given a little freshen up and she trialled last week where for mine, she went better than Lady Of Crebilly, a borderline Stakes class mare. Gate one, she’ll park off a hot speed and hopefully have last look.
3 Over And Above (Bet Now: $1.60) is a former Team Hawkes galloper that had his first run for the Stokes team a fortnight back at this track/distance where he was given every chance in the run by Dom Tourneur but the gelding was just no match for the finale of Kabini, who was off the map late. Should improve off that and is a clear threat.
7 Musical Query (Bet Now: $9.00) is a Mick Minervini trained mare who had trialled up really well prior to resuming over the 900m at Murray Bridge where he settled off the back before gradually creeping forward and the last 200m was relatively painless if you were on. If she can improve off that, she’ll be a danger.
Race 7. (17:31) Delnorth Handicap (64) 1300m
I think back up in trip, 11 Tenderly (Bet Now: $13.00) will prove hard to hold out. Bit disappointing two back over 1200m behind Gotta Be Gold before racing over 1000m here where she was much better, closing off really well to run fourth to impressive winner Symphonette. The extra 300m will be more to her liking and the tempo should be genuine.
1 Flying Krupt (Bet Now: $3.40) looks a progressive mare for the Phillip Stokes team who ran over 1250m here a fortnight ago where she was given a lovely steer by Kayla Crowther, stalking the speed throughout and once she presented the mare with clear air, she put them away and was dominant. No reason why she can’t repeat the dose.
2 Cool Maverick (Bet Now: $15.00) is a ripper for Ryan Balfour who is on the seven day back up after racing over 1250m here last Saturday where he was near the speed all the way and tried his heart out as he always does but couldn’t quite finish it off when third to Charossa. If he can lead without too much pressure, he could give a sight.
Race 8. (18:07) Positive Group Handicap (75) 1400m
Chris Caserta hasn’t been my fav jock to back this season, but I’ll go with him here aboard 9 Diamond Tycoon (Bet Now: $5.00). She resumed over 1250m here a fortnight back where she was a hard fav but I think just forget she went around. She was back last in a slowly run race and had no hope of running on quick enough. Can sit closer from the good draw, only has 52kg and if she takes advantage of the draw, she’ll be winning.
5 Adatto (Bet Now: $3.40) is a Michael Hickmott trained gelding who comes here with fresh legs. Hasn’t raced since October 6 when scoring a pretty solid win over the 1550m here, albeit the depth wasn’t great. 1400m is short of his best, but I thought he trialled up really well here last week behind a good one in Bohemoth.
3 Star Fortune (Bet Now: $7.50) comes over from Caulfield for the Clinton McDonald stable. He ran at Geelong last start where he sat on speed in what was a crawl and the sit/sprint race style just didn’t suit him when beaten by Strike Force. Should be a more genuine tempo this time around and have to respect the stable when they come over.
