Apprentice Daniel Stackhouse, on loan to leading trainer Peter Moody, was among four riders fined $1000 for being in possession of a modified safety vest at the weekend.

Stackhouse, who won the opening event at Caulfield on the Moody-trained Limerock, was also severely reprimanded three times during the meeting.

He was rebuked for failing to claim down to his minimum riding weight of 53.5kg.

Kelly Myers, Michael Carson and Ruth Bradley were each fined $1000 for possessing illegal vests at Cranbourne on Sunday.

Stackhouse was reprimanded for shifting in on Limerock when not sufficiently clear of the third-placed Don’t Wake Me who was tightened for room approaching the winning post.

He was also reprimanded for accepting a ride when overweight on the Peter Moody-trained Mid Summer Music in the last race.

Mid Summer Music went on to win the race with another apprentice, Damian Lane, in the saddle.

New Zealander Stackhouse is on loan to the Moody stable until he completes his apprenticeship in August.

The 20-year-old had his first win in Melbourne aboard the Moody-trained Le Societe at Sandown last Wednesday.

NSW stewards fined apprentice Taylor Lovelock-Wiggins $300 for going to the scales wearing a modified safety vest at Randwick on Saturday.
