Trainer Charlie Appleby has confirmed that Scottish is bound for Australia after his win at York.
The 2016 Caulfield Cup is the likely target for Godolphin’s 4YO gelding following his win in the G3 Strensall Stakes.
“He has done well and he will probably head to the Caulfield Cup,” Appleby told britishhorseracing.com.
“It is stepping up to a mile and a half, but it’s an easy mile and a half.
“He went up another 3lb for his win at York and that was his ticket to Australia.
“It was good for him to get his head in front and it is good he is going there on the back of a win.
“The Strensall Stakes was just one of those races that suited, timing-wise. He shows plenty of pace and we knew he had the pace for the race to see it out. It was just another good run.”
