Prince Khalid Abdullah is reported to be scaling down his breeding and racing empire but superstar Frankel will remain with Juddmonte Farms.
Juddmonte chief executive Douglas Erskine-Crum confirmed on Saturday the prince would be reducing his numbers.
“His Highness is going to make some disposals in the course of the year,” Erskine-Crum told the Racing Post.
“It is very early days and it is a process that will probably take many months, and the name Frankel has not been mentioned here.”
Erskine-Crum said there was an ongoing review of the operation but the prince would retain an interest in racing.
“There is a review of the whole operation ongoing but His Highness’s interest in racing is undiminished,” he said.
“I am sure he will still be at the top meetings this year.”
The prize jewel in the Juddmonte crown is Frankel. Unbeaten in 14 starts and ranked the best horse ever by the World Thoroughbred Rankings, the son of Galileo was valued at STG100 million ($A164.03 million) when he was retired to stud.
He stands at STG125,000.
“There are a lot of other wonderful horses owned by His Highness, who has more than 900 horses,” Erskine-Crum said.
Juddmonte’s horses include prominent stallions Oasis Dream and Dansili plus Frankel’s dam Kind.
Juddmonte has nine studs spread between Britain, Ireland and the US, with horses in training in the three countries as well as France.
