Champion jockey Hollie Doyle has gone further than any rider before her in the coveted BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award.
She finished third, and a damn gallant 3rd that should be applauded by all racing fans the world over.
Mercedes-AMG superstar, Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton won the gong.
Hollie entered the race as the outsider but did extremely well to place.
This is not just a boost for our sport, or a recognition for the talents of jockeys…but a complete acceptance and praise of female riders as supreme athletes.
Liverpool FC’s captain, Jordan Henderson was 2nd.
