Dominant has run his last race in Britain after being sold to race in Hong Kong.
The three-year-old won the Tattersalls Millions 3YO Cup at Newmarket for trainer Roger Varian and owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing before stepping up to Group Two company last time.
Sent off the 2-1 favourite for the York Stakes, he finished 1/1-4-lengths third to multiple Group One winner Twice Over.
Harry Herbert, managing director of Highclere said: “It is always sad to see such a talented individual like Dominant leave our ownership, but we were bid a very significant sum of money.
“He has given his owners an enormous amount of fun and we wish Dominant and his new owners all possible success for the future.”
The son of Cacique is now set to be trained by John Moore and will race under the banner of John Moore Trainers syndicate following the deal, which was brokered by bloodstock agent Alistair Donald of SackvilleDonald
“He looks an ideal Hong Kong Derby prospect who is a gorgeous looking, improving horse and we are hoping he can win us a third Hong Kong Derby,” Donald said.
Highclere have previously sold subsequent Group One winners Collection, winner of the 2009 Hong Kong Derby, Housemaster and Tiber to race in Hong Kong.
