These early Griffin races are a nightmare to sort out with confidence. I have landed with 3 Show Me Your Love (Bet Now: $14.00), who led throughout to win his latest trial and moved well. He was clicked up about 300m out and moved nicely when asked. Happy to be in his corner.

1 Almighty Warrior (Bet Now: $5.00) is a Saxon Warrior gelding that debuts. He trialled at this track/distance and while a well held sixth, he was under a good hold from Purton and not asked for any real effort. Think he’ll be strong late and commands respect.

7 Gaudium Magnum (Bet Now: $3.60) is a son of Farnan on debut for Mark Newnham. He was pushed right out in his latest trial but what I liked is that he responded when asked for an effort, which is a good sign for an unraced horse. Watch betting.

2 Matzden (Bet Now: $3.60) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. He ran over this track/distance two weeks ago and closed off solidly enough from off speed but did seemingly have his chance when fourth. Maps to get a sweet run in transit and be effective late.

8 Spirited Steed (Bet Now: $7.50) is a Star Turn gelding on debut. He’s had a few trials to get ready for start one, the latest coming here when fourth and seemingly moved well. Purton rode in that trial and sticks for the debut, which is a good lead.

6 Aca Fast (Bet Now: $31.00) is on debut for David Hall and is one to watch. Son of Deep Field that on paper hasn’t set the world on fire in trial work but to my eye hasn’t moved too bad so keen to see how he goes and watch betting.

1 The All Rounder (Bet Now: $13.00) is the way I am leaning. He ran over this track/distance three weeks ago when off speed and just whacked in the run to the line. He gets his first look at Class 5 and really, this is such a nothing race, so he doesn’t need to be anything special.

10 Verbier (Bet Now: $7.50) has done his recent racing over the mile at Happy Valley. Latest run saw him get off the pace and worked home well enough in defeat. If he can overcome the tricky draw, he’s dangerous.

9 Sparkle And Gold (Bet Now: $46.00) is another that comes back to 1400m after racing over the Happy Valley mile. Latest run saw him just whack to the line after seemingly getting every chance in transit. Doubt he wins, but could pinch first four.

4 Master Payment (Bet Now: $3.80) should take beating here. He debuted at this track/distance three weeks ago and closed strongly from off speed after getting held up, driving hard late to just miss. Better for the run, and with clear air to move, he’ll be really hard to hold out.

1 Alsonso (Bet Now: $16.00) ran fourth in the race mentioned above. He attempted to lead throughout and gave a decent sight from the front but just felt the pinch late. I think with a more patient steer, a bunny to chase, he’ll be more effective.

8 Storm Mirror (Bet Now: $4.20) is a son of Deep Field that debuts. He has had extensive trial work to get ready for start one and for the most part, has looked pretty good to my eye. Draws the right part of the track, he commands respect.

2 Positive Smile (Bet Now: $11.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. He comes back to 1200m after racing over 1400m here when back in the run and made up decent headway late without threatening. Maps to settle closer and should be strong late.

All you can do is win and that is what 3 Flashing Fighter (Bet Now: $2.70) did on debut over this track/distance four weeks ago. He landed on speed and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them. Commands respect.

10 Impending Legacy (Bet Now: $61.00) is a Mark Newnham trained gelding that resumes. He didn’t really fire a shot in three runs when last in work to start his career. Looks to have trialled well for the return so watch betting.

3 Invictus (Bet Now: $23.00) jumps straight to 1400m after a debut over 1000m down the straight here. He got back to near last in the run and made up decent headway without threatening. Like the rise straight to 1400m and has more upside than most.

8 Super Dragon (Bet Now: $4.40) is four weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when first up, getting back to near last and was good late without threatening. If he can settle closer and be within range, he’ll take holding out.

2 Best World (Bet Now: $18.00) is a son of Toronado that debuts for David Hayes. He has had extensive trial work to get ready for start one and hasn’t been too bad. Doubt he wins but can run first four at a price.

7 Circuit Marshal (Bet Now: $12.00) for me. He was never a winning threat when racing two weeks ago at this track/distance but didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat. If he can use the gate and settle closer in the run, he’ll take holding out.

1 Gallant Epoch (Bet Now: $10.00) steps up to the mile after racing over 1400m here. He landed in a decent spot in transit and was there to win but just couldn’t quite see it through. He was several weeks between runs there so with room for improvement, he’s in the mix.

11 Amazing Duck (Bet Now: $11.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when wide no cover and the hard run just told late in the piece. Better run in transit this time around, he’s dangerous.

7 Effortless Win (Bet Now: $12.00) looks a very promising horse. Former Queenslander that makes his Hong Kong debut and sometimes with these imports, they take time to settle in, but this guy has has extensive trial work and has looked impressive. Confident he can more than hold his own against these.

3 Gold Patch (Bet Now: $3.00) has done little wrong in a four start career. He won over this track/distance three weeks ago, sitting on speed and he found under pressure to fend them off and score. Good racing style, he’ll press forward and be around the mark.

1 Superb Capitalist (Bet Now: $51.00) has been freshened up since April 1 at this track/distance when leading and tiring late. He is hit and miss but with his best, he can land on speed and run a cheeky race at a price.

5 Ever Luck (Bet Now: $6.00) was solid at 1200m but he had a look at 1000m last start here and was impressive from the front, finding plenty under pressure to score. Good racing style, genuine and strikes a winnable race.

1 Fast Responder (Bet Now: $7.00) is a track/distance specialist and appeals here. He won at the set up last time, sitting on speed throughout and he found plenty under pressure to fend them off and score. Commands respect.

6 Master Of All (Bet Now: $71.00) comes back to 1000m after racing over 1200m in recent times where he hasn’t set the world on fire for a little while but perhaps coming back to 1000m, he can run an improved race.

4 Amazing Partners (Bet Now: $6.00) looks one of the best on the card. He won over this track/distance four weeks ago, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. Good test here but hard to knock the way he’s racing at present.

3 Endued (Bet Now: $7.50) ran third a fortnight back at this track/distance, getting a fair way out of his ground but was good late. If he can settle closer or get a drag into the race, he’s dangerous against these.

7 Golden Champ (Bet Now: $61.00) steps up to the mile after racing over 1400m here three weeks back when wide throughout and was never a factor behind Sky Jewellery. Like the rise in trip and his best is good enough to be some sort of threat.

12 Public Attention (Bet Now: $11.00) is worth a throw at the stumps in the get out. He is a good horse when right…just hasn’t put it together on a consistent basis. He does tend to race well on the fresh side though and his recent trial was very good.

All you can do is win and that is what 11 Hot Delight (Bet Now: $2.15) has done in three career outings, the latest coming on March 22 when an impressive track/distance winner. Good test here, but hard to knock the way he’s going.

10 Akashvani (Bet Now: $23.00) steps up to 1200m after racing over 1000m at Happy Valley where he just found them a bit sharp and was just fair late in the piece. Like the rise in trip and with front end control, is dangerous.
