22/4/2026 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Happy Valley

Landed with 3 Concorde Star (Bet Now: $11.00) in the opener. He ran two weeks ago at this track/distance when getting the beaut run near the speed and thought he was there to threaten but just weakened late in a plain effort. Blinkers come off and gets E Brown on board. He’ll do me.

5 Thousand Cups (Bet Now: $9.00) ran over this track/distance a fortnight back, attempting to lead throughout and gave a decent sight from the front but just felt the pinch when second. Good racing style, should come across and take running down.

4 Nebraskan (Bet Now: $4.60) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since March 11 when down the track over 1000m here, getting off speed and just whacked late after being tardy to start. Couple of solid tick over trials since, not entirely dismissing.

4 Telecom Power (Bet Now: $9.50) each way for me. He ran three weeks ago at this track/distance where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, I didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat. Tricky draw but with a drag into the race, he can launch late over the top.

6 Double Bingo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing at this track/distance last Wednesday night. He landed in a decent spot near the speed and thought he was there to win but just couldn’t quite finish the job when a narrow second. Knocking on the door and commands respect.

11 Smiling Emperor (Bet Now: $17.00) steps up to the mile after racing over 1400m at Sha Tin last time. He got a fair way out of his ground and was never a winning threat, but I thought was far from disgraced. Like him up in trip, he’s a knockout hope.

Going with 5 Shooting To Top (Bet Now: $8.00) and I am tipping it could be a fat start to Hong Kong life for Ethan Brown. I think this guy has been pretty good in two runs to date, on debut at Sha Tin before catching the eye at this track/distance. More upside/scope than most and strikes a very winnable race.

1 Glorious Journey (Bet Now: $8.00) is several weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when off speed and was under pressure early, failing to fire in a plain effort. Hit and miss but if he brings his best, he’s dangerous against these.

2 Gazeley (Bet Now: $41.00) ran over 1400m at Sha Tin last start. He was back near last in the run, keen, and didn’t really travel at any stage. Tinkering with the gear has been done and a recent tick over trial was encouraging so don’t dismiss.

6 Vigor Eye (Bet Now: $2.15) should win if he handles Happy Valley. First look at the track but he does look a progressive horse for David Hayes that ran second over this trip at Sha Tin last time. He landed in a plum spot and was there to win but just found one better in Better And Better. Purton on, plum draw, he’s a good thing IMO.

7 Flying Sniper (Bet Now: $16.00) is another that is having his first look at Happy Valley. Both career runs have come over 1200m at Happy Valley where each time he has got back off speed and kept chasing without threatening. Dangerous if he can overcome the draw.

1 Young Arrow (Bet Now: $8.00) is three weeks between runs racing over 1200m at Sha Tin when just off speed and tried hard but overall did have his chance. Good record at Happy Valley, he’s an improver at odds.

11 Thunder Prince (Bet Now: $3.00) for me but not a whole lot of confidence. He last ran on March 22 over this trip at Sha Tin where he did make up ground after getting a fair way back but was never really threatening. Maps to settle much closer and gets Purton aboard.

1 Speedy Smartie (Bet Now: $9.50) is an honest campaigner that should be around the mark, as seen three weeks ago over this trip at Sha Tin where he tried hard but had no answers for Pi Legend. That was his first run in seven weeks so with upside/improvement, he commands respect.

8 Little Monster (Bet Now: $7.00) is just over two weeks between runs since racing at this trip at Sha Tin when near the speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite go on with it. This looks a race well within reach and has a good racing style.

4 Beauty Show (Bet Now: $2.60) looks a good thing off his debut second two weeks ago at this track/distance when leading and giving a really decent kick but was nabbed late. Better for the run, I think he’s a bit better than these.

1 Healthy Healthy (Bet Now: $8.50) is a handy gelding that resumes. His last run was on Dec 27 when down the track and never really a factor. Looks to have trialled up really well for the return and maps to stalk the speed.

8 Jumbo Blessing (Bet Now: $3.40) has been given a mini freshen up since Feb 22 down the straight at Sha Tin when on speed and tiring late. Trialled well since and gets Moreira on. A definite improver.

4 Together We Value (Bet Now: $7.00) is well named because I do think he’s a good value each way speck. He ran over this track/distance four weeks ago where he got a fair way out of his ground but didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat. He’ll be strong late and hopefully won’t be too far away.

1 Horsepower (Bet Now: $5.00) ran second in the same race, won by Bunta Baby. He did early work from the wide gate but kept chasing and finding the line in defeat. More kind map this time, he commands respect.

3 Red Elegance (Bet Now: $27.00) was midfield in the Bunta Baby race. He got a fair way back and was solid late without really threatening. If he gets better luck in running, he’s dangerous.

1 Liveandletlive (Bet Now: $5.00) comes back to 1800m after racing over 2000m at Sha Tin last start. He got into a decent spot in transit and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there. Racing well and for mine strikes a very winnable race.

3 China Win (Bet Now: $6.00) steps back up to 1800m after a solid effort last time out over the mile at Sha Tin when near the pace and was there to win but just lacked the killer finale. I say he’s in the mix against this lot.

2 Highland Rahy (Bet Now: $23.00) is several weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when on speed and gave a decent sight but felt the pinch late behind Fallon. Good racing style, he’ll give cheek I am sure.

1 Aurio (Bet Now: $3.70) looks the way to go in the last. He is five weeks between runs since a track/distance win, getting the beaut run off speed before being presented clear air by Purton and he gapped his rivals late. Confidence is up, he can go on with it.

4 My Day My Way (Bet Now: $16.00) is in a purple patch and commands respect. Impressive track/distance winner four weeks ago, giving them a start and a beating in a sharp effort. He’ll need to overcome the gate but hard to knock the way he’s racing.

7 Sovereign Fund (Bet Now: $23.00) ran down the track behind Aurio in that race mentioned above but he was entitled to finish closer I thought. He got off speed and was held up at times, not really getting the clearest of paths. I doubt he wins but can run first four.
