2/4/2025 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Happy Valley

Nine races will be run and won at Happy Valley this Wednesday, with good depth across the program.

10 Viva Chaleur (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Wednesday over the mile on the Sha Tin dirt where he got back in the run and made up headway without threatening behind Fashion Legend. Zac is on, back in overall depth, he’s the one they have to beat.

1 Prestige Gold (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance where he got off speed but worked home quite well late in the piece when third. If he’s within range, he has the finale to take this out.

4 Midori Fuji (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through a track/distance race from three weeks ago where he got into a decent spot just off the speed and was there to win but just couldn’t quite see it through when fourth. Not sure he wins, but is a just for exotics.

5 Talents Supremo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Feb 19 at this track/distance when off speed and worked home well enough in defeat. Gets Zac and with luck in running, I think he’s the one to beat.

7 Ever Smart (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over 1000m when back from 1200m and he kept chasing in a closing effort that was full of merit. Back up in trip, he appeals as one of the leading contenders.

3 Golden Darci (Bet Now:  $SP.00) hasn’t raced since Feb 9 over 1400m at Sha Tin. He was never really a winning threat but despite that, he kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat. He’ll be strong late. Just needs luck from the draw.

2 Senor Toba (Bet Now:  $SP.00) does tend to save his best for when he gets to 2000m so 2200m here, I reckon he’s worth a throw at the stumps each way. He hasn’t fired a shot in some time but getting to this distance range, I think he’ll only run well at odds.

5 Fallon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying at present for Tony Cruz and has earned a crack at 2200m. His recent runs have come over 1800m here, winning two back before a solid placing last time. 2200m, I think, is okay, and he strikes a winnable race.

3 Mondial (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a horse they had penned as a potential Derby horse but he didn’t quite fire in the Classic Cup before a down the track effort last start. Stepping up in trip I like and has upside so he could be one to include in exotics.

2 Swagger Bro (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks hard to beat. He is four weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He got back off the speed but kept chasing in a good effort in defeat. Hopefully he can get a drag into the race and launch at them late.

8 Nebraskan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win. He ran three weeks ago at this track/distance when off speed and chased with purpose in defeat. Tricky gate but he is one of the hardest to beat I say.

7 Metal King (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Dubious that is on debut for Jimmy Ting. He has had several trials in readiness for start one and each time he has stepped out, he hasn’t looked too bad so I say watch betting and see what it does.

6 All’s Well (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top in what looks an open contest. He debuts off the back of three trials and has gotten better each time he has stepped out. He is bred to be much better over further but for mine, he has shown enough in the trials to suggest he can make a winning debut.

2 Heroic Master (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will need luck from the tricky draw but he is racing well and can certainly take this out. He ran two weeks ago at this track/distance where he got off speed snd kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat. If he does get luck, he has the finale to take this out.

10 Country Dancer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is two weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He got back to near last in the run but worked home with real purpose late in the piece. Horror draw but he’s flying and a win wouldn’t shock at all.

1 Viva Graciousness (Bet Now:  $SP.00) seems the straight bat play. He is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when ridden with intent, landing on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through. Zac on and despite the wide gate, he’s one of the hardest to beat.

6 The Heir (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done his recent racing at Sha Tin and is racing like a rise in trip will suit. Latest run was over 1400m when off speed and found the line well enough without threatening. He has the right form around him to take this out.

5 Red Majesty (Bet Now:  $SP.00) does tend to save his best for this track/distance and has versatility re racing pattern. He was on speed last start and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job. Not sure he wins but can run first four.

2 Motoman (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a tricky draw to overcome but he is rarely far away and suspect that will continue here. He ran over this track/distance three weeks ago when off speed and kept chasing with purpose in a good effort in defeat when third. I think he’ll be ridden with intent to overcome the draw and with that in mind, is hard to beat.

1 Dragon Four Seas (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a model of consistency and should be around the mark. Track/distance winner from four weeks ago. He led throughout under Bowman and was strong to the line in winning. He’ll land near the front again and only run well.

5 Mega Bonus (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous with his best. He ran over this track/distance last time when attempting to lead throughout and gave a mini kick when asked for the effort but just felt the pinch late in the piece. Perhaps with a more patient steer, he can improve.

9 A Americ Te Spesco (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is worthy of an each way ticket. He ran over this track/distance two weeks ago where he got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, he worked home with real purpose in defeat behind M Unicorn. He’s sneaky flying this horse, he’ll be strong late…just hope he’s within range.

1 M Unicorn (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a leading contender. His win last time was very impressive, making a sustained run from off the speed and got better as the race went on to win and win well. He saves his best for this track/distance and gets Bowman to stick. Leading chance.

8 Ivy League (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance, attempting to lead throughout and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through and tired late when fifth to Excellence Value. Perhaps with a bunny to chase, he’ll be more effective.

It’s hard to get away from 3 Beauty Infinity (Bet Now:  $SP.00). John Size trained gelding that won over this track/distance last time out, getting the beaut run in transit before angling clear and finished best to win narrowly but impressively. Maps ideally again, he’s the one to beat.

4 Romantic Son (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and he can go on with it. He beat Beauty Infinity four weeks ago at this track/distance, before that horse backed up a week later and won the race mentioned above, so the form has been ticked off and a tick over trial win was impressive, so keen to see how he goes.

1 Kaholo Angel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done his recent racing at Sha Tin and comes back to Happy Valley, where he has a pretty good record. He ran over 1400m at Sha Tin a few weeks back when off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Juneau Pride. His best is good enough.
