5 Vigor Eye (Bet Now: $3.60) seems the straight bat play in the opener. David Hayes trained gelding that ran four weeks ago over this track/distance when leading and gave a decent kick from the front but had no answers late for Cool Boy. Tick over trial last week was quite strong and with a good racing style, happy to be in his corner.

4 Live Wire (Bet Now: $5.50) steps up to 1200m after racing over 1000m down the straight three weeks back. He sat off speed and just whacked in the run to the line. Like the rise to 1200m for him and good lead that Purton takes over.

8 Incredible Moment (Bet Now: $9.00) was a forgive last time out at this track/distance when tardy to begin with, which sealed his fate pretty much, but was far from disgraced. His best is good enough to be dangerous, so don’t dismiss.

4 Amazing Partners (Bet Now: $3.20) was an impressive track/distance winner four weeks ago, giving them a start and a beating, surging hard late to finish best and score. He ticked the 1400m box with flying colours and with good upside/improvement, he appeals.

10 California Bay (Bet Now: $6.00) comes back to 1400m after racing over the mile at Happy Valley last start. He got into a decent spot off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job. Tricky gate but like him back to 1400m and Purton steers.

5 Devas Twelve (Bet Now: $10.00) is four weeks between runs since racing over this track/distance when attempting to lead throughout and he tried hard but just felt the pinch late in the piece. If he gets front end control, he’ll run well at a likely decent price.

2 Red Sea (Bet Now: $3.40) looks the winner if he is ready to go. He was on a Caulfield Guineas path in 2024 but was midfield at Sandown in a lead up and was spelled soon after. Purchased, now in Hong Kong and with four trials under the belt, Purton rides, there is clear intent.

6 Chill Buddy (Bet Now: $2.60) is on the quick back up after racing last Sunday at this track/distance, attempting to lead throughout and gave a strong kick but just felt the pinch late. If he gets front end control, he’ll take running down.

1 Mickley (Bet Now: $12.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when off speed and was held up at times but seemingly had his chance. Not sure he is good enough to win but he can run first four.

3 Charity Together (Bet Now: $10.00) for me. He comes here with a mini break under the belt, five weeks between runs since a fourth at this track/distance, getting back to near last in the run, but loved the way he closed his race off in defeat. Just needs a drag into the race and he’ll take holding out.

1 Audacious Pursuit (Bet Now: $2.50) ran second in the race mentioned above, won by China Win. He sat off speed, not as far back, and worked home strongly late when second. Maps to get a sweet run in transit and gets in pretty well after the claim.

8 Serangoon (Bet Now: $17.00) is a few weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance behind Forever Boys. He got dragged back from the wide gate and made up minor headway but was never really threatening. Hit and miss this guy but his best is good enough to threaten.

6 Thunder Blaze (Bet Now: $12.00) looks a good gamble here, provided he handles the dirt track. Hong Kong debut came over 1200m here when off speed and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was pretty good in defeat I thought. Tick over trial was pretty good and maps to get a sweet sit in transit.

2 Dragon Air Force (Bet Now: $7.00) is a track/distance winner from a few weeks ago. He was tardy away but ended up getting into a decent spot in transit before angling for clear air and finished best to score. Tricky gate, but hard to knock the way he’s going.

12 Sturdy Ruby (Bet Now: $61.00) ran midfield to Dragon Air Force in the race mentioned above. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept chasing and was a definite pass mark. If he can get a drag into the race, he’s dangerous.

1 Ariel (Bet Now: $31.00) loves the dirt track and with that in mind, I think he’s worthy of an each way gamble. He ran over the mile on the course proper two weeks ago when leading and giving a decent sight from the front but just felt the pinch late. Loves the dirt track, will press forward and take beating at odds.

3 Sight Dreamer (Bet Now: $3.30) is several weeks between runs since an all the way win at this track/distance, leading throughout and he gave nothing else a look in to win and win quite well. Maps to likely lead them up and will take running down.

12 Firefoot (Bet Now: $13.00) comes back to the mile after racing over 1800m here when near the speed and thought he was there to win but just couldn’t quite see it through when third to Forever Folks. Right down in the weights and despite the tricky gate, he’s in the mix.

3 Invincible Shield (Bet Now: $3.90) has found winning form and he can go on with it. Few weeks between runs since a track/distance win, sitting near the speed before being angled into clear air and knuckled down with purpose late to score. He’s got the win on the board, he appeals against these.

7 Patch Of Stars (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran third to Invincible Shield in the race mentioned above. He got into a decent spot in transit just off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job when third. Tricky map but looks above average and is one of the key threats.

9 Sky Trust (Bet Now: $5.50) comes back to 1200m after racing over 1400m five weeks back here behind Little Paradise when on speed and tried hard but just tired late, but the winner won the Classic Mile and looks a Derby contender, so the form reads super. He’s a threat.

4 Solid Car (Bet Now: $2.80) has been strong in two runs back from a spell and should love the rise to 1400m. Both runs back have come over 1200m, the latest several weeks ago when off speed and was good late when third to Hot Delight. Hard fit, 1400m, Purton on, he takes beating.

5 Genius Baby (Bet Now: $12.00) is several weeks between runs since racing over 1200m here. He got off speed and kept chasing with purpose in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Cool Boy. Like him up to 1400m and maps to settle closer in the run.

1 Super Love (Bet Now: $17.00) is five weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. He got back off speed and was never really a factor behind Rezeki. If he can use the inside gate and settle closer, he’s good enough to threaten.

12 Sparkling Fellow (Bet Now: $8.00) looks extremely hard to beat after a track/distance second three weeks ago, getting back off speed and worked home strongly late when second to Gold Patch. If he can be within range, I am sure his finale will be too much for them.

2 City Gold Banner (Bet Now: $1.90) made his Hong Kong debut with a bang four weeks ago at this track/distance, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive performance. Good upside to come and a recent tick over trial was more than encouraging. Key and only threat.

5 Central Bank (Bet Now: $31.00) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with Matt Laurie in Australia, he really put it together towards the end of last prep, winning a couple before being purchased. Looks to have trialled up well enough for his Hong Kong debut, watch betting.

10 Endued (Bet Now: $8.50) takes beating in the get out. He caught the eye two weeks ago at this track/distance, getting back to near last in the run but loved the way he closed his race off late in the piece behind Lucky Sam Gor. If he can get a drag into the race, he’ll take holding out.

5 Mighty Masts (Bet Now: $4.50) steps up to the mile after racing over 1400m four weeks back. He got to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat. Purton takes over, he commands respect.

11 Without Compare (Bet Now: $7.00) should appreciate a rise to the mile. Both runs back have come over 1400m, the latest being two weeks back behind Super Excess. He got off speed and seemingly had his chance but he was a touch on the one paced side late. Hard fit now, 1600m, he can threaten.
