Inglis, the renowned auction house, has announced its upcoming dispersal sale of Turangga Farm, one of Australia’s leading thoroughbred studs. The much-anticipated sale is scheduled for Sunday, July 23, at White Park, Scone. A remarkable selection of broodmares, all in foal, will be up for auction, along with a reduction sale featuring weanlings and race fillies, presenting buyers with the opportunity to invest in some of Australia’s most esteemed thoroughbred bloodlines.
Turangga Farm has been owned by the Ramsey family since 2003 and has earned a well-deserved reputation as one of Australia’s prominent breeders. The farm has produced a host of champions, including the illustrious galloper Able Friend, a Hong Kong Horse of the Year and the highest-ever rated horse in that region. Group 1 winners like Headway, Sky Cuddle, and Mr. Murphy have also emerged from the stables of Turangga.
In addition to these stellar performers, the farm has also bred several other notable Group-winning graduates, including Elite Falls, Believe Yourself, My Emotion, and Karuta Queen. This season, Turangga’s horses continue to excel, with Stakes performers such as Glenall, Farson, The Virginian, War Hero, and Kanga’s Eye.
Inglis’ National Bloodstock Director, Jonathan D’Arcy, expressed the auction house’s gratitude for being entrusted with Turangga’s dispersal. The Ramsey family has a long-standing and fruitful association with Inglis, consistently showcasing their finest yearlings in their sales for many years.
John Ramsey, son of Stuart Ramsey, the farm’s owner, along with his wife Erin, is in the process of establishing his own property. They plan to continue their involvement in the industry, focusing on breaking in, training, and breeding operations, with the unwavering support of Stuart.
The dispersal sale offers thoroughbred participants of all levels an exceptional opportunity to access families that have been nurtured and bred over two decades. The weanling draft includes progeny from distinguished sires like Sebring, Hinchinbrook, Testa Rossa, Manhattan Rain, and Lonhro, as well as younger stallions such as All Too Hard, Your Song, Hallowed Crown, Rubick, and Toronado.
Furthermore, the mare dispersal boasts an impressive lineup, with ten Stakes performers featured, including Tenant’s Tiara, Torah, Niagara Falls, and Group One winner Irish Darling. Among the broodmares, one can find siblings to prominent performers like Written Tycoon, Rocha, Rena’s Lady, and Crowned Glory, as well as dams of Headway, Kanga’s Eye, Believe Yourself, Fighting Sun, and Violate.
These valuable broodmares have been serviced by a host of Australia’s leading sires, including Sebring, Pierro, Foxwedge, Reset, Artie Schiller, Testa Rossa, and More Than Ready. Additionally, they have been paired with up-and-coming young stallions like All Too Hard, Zoustar, Pierro, Nicconi, Dundeel, Real Impact, Exosphere, Hallowed Crown, and Vancouver.
