Singo owned Anders filly wins at Morphettville

First-season sire Anders celebrated his third winner on Saturday when Frothy Macaw clinched victory at Morphettville.

Owned by John Singleton’s Strawberry Hill Stud, the filly is trained by Matthew Seyers and was ridden by Jacob Opperman. In her second start, following a fifth-place debut in the Magic Millions Adelaide 2YO Classic (1000m), Frothy Macaw showcased significant improvement, winning the 1000m race by half a length.

Purchased for $100,000 from Glenn Lee Thoroughbreds at the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale, Frothy Macaw hails from a lineage familiar to Singleton. She is the third offspring of Bucasia, a Mossman mare and half-sister to Tallow. Notably, Tallow, also acquired as a yearling by Singleton, is the dam of Golden Slipper winner Farnan.

This victory not only highlights Frothy Macaw’s potential but also underscores the promising start of Anders’ progeny on the racetrack.
