Champion mare Winx has returned with a successful barrier trial at Rosehill this morning.
The four-time Cox Plate winner didn’t raise a sweat as she cruised through the 900m trial with regular jockey Hugh Bowman on-board.
Winx jumped a clear last before finishing 7th in the trial against group and listed horses which included multiple Group 1 winner Alizee.
Both Bowman and trainer Chris Waller were pleased with how she handled the trial ahead of her scheduled return to racing next month.
It’s expected that Winx will have at least one more trial before a planned return to racing in the Group Two Apollo Stakes on February 19.
Following the Apollo, Winx is then expected to line up in the Chipping Norton, George Ryder and Queen Elizabeth Stakes in what will be her final campaign of her racing career.
