Cox Plate winner Winx is a confirmed runner in the Apollo Stakes and bookmakers have already made the glamour mare of Australian racing an overwhelming favourite to win the weight-for-age race.
Trainer Chris Waller made the decision to start Winx’s much-anticipated autumn campaign at Randwick on Saturday after the mare worked strongly at Rosehill on Tuesday morning.
But Winx’s stablemate Press Statement will not be an Apollo Stakes acceptor with Waller saving the Caulfield Guineas winner for the Hobartville Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday week.
