Horses don’t win their maiden any easier than potential star stayer Miletus did at Sale on Sunday.
Miletus had been good in his three career starts prior to todays impressive win over unsuitable shorter distances but stepping up to 2226m at Sale saw him demolish his rivals.
The Jamie Edwards trained galloper was heavily backed late in betting with Sportsbet shortening from $3.90 into $2.10 at the jump and punters knew with Miletus winning by seven lengths eased down.
Edwards has lofty plans with the horse indicating the G1 Australian Derby could be an ideal target in the Autumn.
