What brave races both PARSIFAL (Darci Brahma – Della Lobra) and HE’S A BALTER (Spirit Of Boom – Moxie Doll) just ran at Meydan.
After both settling last and 2nd early they picked off runners one by one with Parsifal running an unlucky 3rd and He’s A Balter finishing hard for 4th in the Gr 2 Blue Point Stakes over 1000m.
Jamie Spencer on Parsifal tried so hard to send the big horse through a tiny gap with 250m to go, and when he eventually did pry it open, the winner, the star Godolphin sprinter LAZULI (Dubai – Floristry) had established a lead and went on to beat him home by 1/3/4 lengths.
Both Aussie horses, trained by Will Clarken in Adelaide, ran out of their skins and really did Aussie racing proud.
Parsifal had put on a lot of weight, and raced with blinkers on for the first time. “They have been thriving since being here, particularly Parsifal. His definition is changing, he loves it here.”
Caitlyn Jones rode a faultless race on He’s A Balter who ran through the line strongly into 4th.
