Initial examination results have provided relief for jockey Jamie Kah, who fell during the VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes at Flemington on Saturday, with no fractures or brain damage being detected.
The Victorian Jockeys’ Association reported at 6.30pm that Kah had been heavily concussed and was sedated. Fellow rider Craig Williams, who was also involved in the fall, was found to have fractured his clavicle and was also concussed, although he was stable and talking with his family.
The news has been welcomed by the racing community, with many racing fans, jockeys and other professionals taking to social media to express their relief. The VJA has also issued a statement expressing its relief at the news.
