New South Wales trainer Matthew Dale has been fined and has had his horse Coup De Main disqualified after it tested positive to a prohibited anti-inflammatory.
Trainer Matthew Dale has been fined $4,000 after Coup De Main returned a positive sample to corticosteroid’s dexamethasone which was administered by injection four days outside the recommended withholding period.
Matthew Dale pleaded guilty to a charge under AR240(2) of having brought Coup De Main to Rosehill Gardens Racecourse on Saturday, 2 November 2019 for the purpose of participating in The Highway Class 3 Handicap when a blood sample taken from the gelding prior to it running in that race was found, upon analysis, to contain the prohibited substance dexamethasone.
Coup De Main finished eleventh in the race.
