Queensland stewards have charged three jockeys, including apprentice Amy Graham, following an investigation into a short video that surfaced in the public domain last year.
The panel, chaired by Queensland chief steward Josh Adams, examined footage showing Graham appearing to snort a white powder from a saucer.
Under questioning from Adams, Graham said: βIt seems I was ingesting some sort of white powder, I believe it was cocaine.β
This week, stewards issued two charges against Graham: AR 228(a) (conduct prejudicial to the image, interests, integrity or welfare of racing) and AR 232(i) (giving false or misleading evidence).
Graham told the inquiry she believed the video was recorded by jockey Casey Waddell, a former friend and housemate with whom she has since fallen out.
Waddell has also been charged under AR 228(a) (conduct prejudicial to the image, interests, integrity or welfare of racing).
In addition, apprentice jockey Sophie Wilcock has been charged under AR 232(i) (giving false or misleading evidence) in relation to the same video.
Stewards have adjourned proceedings pending written pleas.
