Racing NSW stewards have opened an inquiry into Thomas Huet’s ride on Rainbow River in race six at Taree on June 16.
Rainbow River was heavily backed from $8.50 into the $2.70 favourite before finishing 9th in a field of 12.
“Huet added after being slightly slow to begin he eased the gelding early and settled at the tail of the field,” reads the stewards’ report.
“Huet further added the gelding failed to travel during the middle stages and was urged along from the 700m in an attempt to improve into the race.”
