Dean Yendall has been hospitalised after a fall in the final race on the card at Mildura on Monday.
Yendall, who rode a treble earlier in the day, fell from the Eric Musgrove-trained Soldier’s Image shortly after they jumped in the eighth race.
The champion jockey was taken to hospital after complaining of neck and shoulder soreness to the on-course paramedics.
The Horsham-based rider will have precautionary scans.
Yendall currently leads the Victorian Jockeys’ Premiership with 138 wins for the season.
