Star English jockey to return to Australia

Champion English rider Tom Marquand is coming back to Sydney.

He announced it this morning via social media.

He leaves London today and will enter quarantine for two weeks in Sydney when he arrives.

And he’s doing this because 1) he loves Australian racing where his star shone very brightly while here, and 2) because last year’s Gr 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner, the world-rated ADDEYBB (Pivotal-Bush Cat) is also coming back.

The horse entered English quarantine yesterday.

He will no doubt renew his rivalry with the great mare VERRY ELLEEGANT (Zed-Opulence) who he beat twice at Gr 1 level last year.

His trainer Willy Haggas has confirmed his superstar WILL be coming back to defend his QE11 titles.

Marquand’s girlfriend is Europe’s best jockey, Hollie Doyle.

There is no indication that she is coming with him.
